“These Despicable Republicans…”
October 31st, 2006 at 2:56 pm . by el nuko
I just listened again to kerry’s screed…… he said that what he said (on tape) wasn’t really what he said, and that this was just another campaign trick by “these despicable Republicans…”
John, John, John. Active duty military personnel are not allowed to speak out politically. You know that, and yet you denigrate their intelligence, knowing full well that they can’t say anything back. You’re a coward, John.
But now, you think you can get away with attacking those of us who can speak up, criticize, and hold you accountable? Well, you’re not only a coward, but a fool as well.
Words mean things, John. Here’s how the dictionary defines “despicable”
: deserving to be despised : so worthless or obnoxious as to rouse moral indignation < despicable behavior>
Down South, we have a term to describe the kind of language you have used toward your critics. We call them “Fighting Words”. You care to back them up with more than your wife’s money? No, I didn’t think so……
We will see just how badly you’ve stepped in it, John. The canary in the coalmine will be when you see Bill Clinton climbing in front of the cameras to denounce yet another vast right wing conspiracy. That will mean that the left is going on full alert, trying to stave off yet another election defeat. But, it won’t be enough. And you, John Kerry, will be known forever as the man who snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Heh. Sweet.

Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble
but I’m doing the best that I can.
I guess you could say I’m a loner,
a cowboy outlaw tough and proud.
I could have lots of friends if I want to
but then I wouldn’t stand out from the crowd.
Some folks say that I’m egotistical.
Hell, I don’t even know what that means.
I guess it has something to do with the way that I
fill out my skin tight blue jeans

Yep. He could have stopped all this immediately with an apology that said that he was appalled at what he had said; it came out wrong and he didn’t realize until he heard a recording of his words. But noooooooooo, he can’t do that.

I Predict….this ain’t going away.
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said:
Senator Kerry clearly owes an apology to our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines serving in Iraq. But Mr. Kerry has refused to do so. Instead, he’s claiming that Republicans are “desperately distorting” his comments. Watch the video yourself … it is perfectly clear what Mr. Kerry said … what’s unclear is whether Mr. Kerry ever means what he says. Perhaps he was against his comments before he actually made them.
House Majority Leader John Boehner rightly said, “If he’s not going to apologize, then we’re going to beat him to death until he does.”
Twenty-eight House Republicans signed a letter calling on Kerry to “offer a clear and simple apology, without caveat or explanation, to America’s finest.”
And President Bush, leading from the front on this issue, said (from a campaign stop in Georgia): “The Senator’s statement . . . is insulting and it is shameful. The members of the United States military are plenty smart and they are plenty brave and the Senator from Massachusetts owes them an apology.”
p.s. It couldn’t happen without Lurch’s assistance…what a macaroon!

Kerry Sorry Education Remark Offended Iraqis
by Scott Ott
(2006-11-01) — Sen. John F. Kerry, the 2004 Democrat presidential nominee, today finally retracted remarks he made about the intellectual abilities of U.S. troops and issued a formal apology to the people he offended.
In comments before students in California Monday, Sen. Kerry had said, “You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
“I withdraw that statement and ask the New York Times that it be stricken from the paper of record,” Sen. Kerry said. “The implication that somehow getting sent to Iraq is punishment for kids who don’t study, or aren’t too bright, was offensive to the fine citizens of that once-great nation, and I’m sorry.”
The decorated Vietnam war veteran added, “Let me make this crystal clear, as crystal clear as I can make it: It’s not the fault of the Iraqis that your country has become purgatory for our bad students. I hope everyone — Sunni, Shia and freedom-fighting insurgent alike — will find it in his heart to forgive me.”

He. Still. Does. Not. Get. It. This wasn’t “manufactured” by Republicans. This was picked up by people who saw it on YouTube, who are military or were past military or have military family serving.
