Bomp. Bomp. Bomp.

The latest talking point from the Surge Deniers has been along the lines of…….

“But, but, but, there has been no political progress from the Iraqi government.”

Heh™. Another one bites the dust…

WASHINGTON, Aug. 27, 2007 – President Bush today praised Iraqi leaders for an agreement that will allow former low-level Baath Party officials to serve in the Iraqi government.

The agreement helps meet one of the specific benchmarks set by U.S. legislators and shows progress in the political arena, Bush said during a stop at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, N.M.

Iraqi President Jalal Talibani; Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki; Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi; Vice President Adil Abd al-Mahdi; and Massoud Barzani, president of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region, hammered out the agreement and announced the breakthrough yesterday in Baghdad. The agreement still must pass the Iraqi parliament, but U.S. officials are hopeful for its success, since the men represent the largest sects in Iraq. source

Now, you didn’t find this in any MSM news outlet, did you? I wonder why that is?

No, didn’t see it in the LameStream, that’s because they haven’t gotten their talking points fax from the DNC, and they haven’t gotten their intstructions from the Soros crowd.
The goal posts have shifted at every twist and turn, from there aren’t enough troops, to the surge isn’t needed, the surge won’t work, the surge is working, the surge is working, but the government isn’t. Can we begin to imagine what the latest shift will bring? Perhaps that the Iraqis have too much sand to be a self-governing nation, or they don’t have planned parenthood.

Another item, of the many that the LameStream media hasn’t reported on, is the protest held in Washington over the weekend by the Iraqi-American Coalition. Here’s an updated story from Gateway Pundit, with a powerful video.
I extend a challenge to the LameStream to give this story coverage. I’m sure they will give us breathless reports on Jesse Jackson’s PR stunt for today, demanding that the violence stop in America, from illegal firearms.

In From the Cold’s Today’s Reading Assignment has a scathing indictment of MSM “journalists” as well as the intelligence community leaders.

With terrorists concocting new plots against the CONUS, Americans need to know if the CTC has actually been “fixed,” or if the latest organizational shuffle has only papered over existing problems. While Admiral Redd’s comments sound reassuring, they are predictably vague, and that’s why Hosenball and Bartholet should have pushed for more specific answers. But, if you’re locked into a particular theme or template in covering terrorism–or any other issue–it’s difficult to ask the right questions, at the right time.
