Reason #10,432 for never doing business with the government. SwampMan did not listen to his inner sane person and did some consulting work for the government this summer. He has yet to be paid. His invoice was approved by the manager of the facility he did the work for, and they gave it their PO number and submitted the invoice themselves so that it would be paid in a timely fashion. Upon inquiry, he was told that nobody could decide on who was supposed to approve the invoice, so it went from desk to desk to desk until it arrived at the desk of somebody who was on vacation, where it languished. He was assured that his check would arrive today.
What arrived today was another PO number and a request to resubmit the invoice.
Sigh. Talked to a person in the office per SwampMan’s request because he was totally aggravated; the person that I spoke with indicated that the problem was not the invoice number, the problem was that the address on the invoice did not match an address that they had on file (same place, 911 address change) so instead of calling and asking for an address verification, they sent paperwork to the address that they thought was wrong asking for another invoice with the PO number and not mentioning a thing about address verification. ?????
Whatever happened to having athletes that demonstrated a certain moral character instead of demonstrating a willingness to commit any crime imaginable?
I’m glad to see that Osama has staked out the moderate Democratic position for the nomination process. I think he would have a good chance except for that whole native-born citizen thing.

Yeah, Osama could qualify for a Senator from Massachusetts. In fact, the Admiral of the Chappaquidick should resign and let OBL run in his place, he’s killed even more than the Admiral.
Oh, and OBL’s video is partially available.
LOL!
According to Gateway Pundit, and the words of OBL, Islam is the religion of peace and lower taxes.
Now this is one for the record books…for projectile vomiting.
Dianne Feinstein’s $4 billion earmark for Beverly Hills comes at the expense of America’s veterans.
Why we should remember 9/11.
VDH…Post 9-11 Hubris.
The reason for the next successful strike will be the inability of government and media to figure out that we’re at war.
I just wish the career ass mashers would get a clue.
It’s a sad commentary on those who seek political opportunity only, when our security is at stake.
Also sad is, hearing more and more on the innernut and radio saying that we need another devastating attack to wake some dinguses up.
TGIF…why?…
That is why this is going to have to be my open trackback post for today. I know. It is neither funny, entertaining, informative, intelligent, or anything else, but it’s what I’ve got. Deal with it. (j/k)…
Aaaaarrrrrrg. I forgot to buy kitty food and last night opened my last big packet of tuna and shared it between my two remaining ol’ kitties, keeping just enough to make me a tuna sandwich with blue cheese dressing because I was out of mayo because, well, I haven’t been to the store. I was out of dog food, too, but the dogs were happy with the refrigerator scraps. Heck, the dogs would have been thrilled if the cats would have dropped some kitty waste products into their food bowl. Cats are more demanding.
Must…obey….kitties…. venture out to grocery store and buy more tuna…. Noooooo way! It’s dark, and I need to get to work. The kitties can go catch a frog or something. Aieeeeeee! Must….obey….cat overlords.
You took the kitties staff position, now…suffah!
Ain’t nobody gonna get any sleep with neglected kitties running around.
I got to shut down, got a program malfunction.
G’night, then, n2l! I wanted to go through the drive through on the way back and get me a cold sweet tea because I was out of THAT, too, but the high school football game just finished. Very dejected-looking football players were walking into McDonald’s and cloggin’ up the drive throughs for the solace of a quarter pounder with fries, a large Coke, and talkin’ to the girls at the drive through windows. “HEY! J’all win?” “No. We lost.” “Oh, sorry to hear that. Who were y’all playin’ tonight?” “****** county.” “Y’all lost to them? What was the score?” “mumblemumblemumble” “Say what?” “17 to 0.” Life gotta be hard when grammaws are in the parking lot calling you a bunch of wussies.
Did This work?
I believe it did, Robert D, depending on what you were trying to do.
I hope this is just another glitch. I’ll check in tomorrow. I don’t want to log in every time I have a comment. (and i thought you liked me)
Oh, dang, n2l was having that problem, too; I’m not sure how he fixed it, though. It took him a couple of days. Do you have Foxfire too?
Or whatever the heck his browser is named. I have boring old IE, and didn’t have that problem.
I’m not sure what to think about that ol’ Bin Laden video. I’ve heard the news media try to lull me to sleep wth their lullabies of “nothing to worry about, no threats involved” but it seemed to me like it was setting up a huge whining justification about killing westerners.
Yep, firefox and I will not give it up! I love y’all, but I hope Nuke goes back to the old site. Hope to be able to chat with ya later.
Yeah, that’s it, firefox (oops). There was something that he did to make it work; hopefully he will read this in the morning and send you instructions.
Overnight tonight will be my last few hours with this job. After this weekend, I won’t be doing any more late nights as I’ll have to be up early in the morn for my new job (won’t I just love THAT), and no internet access for me during the day. My computer time is going to be *quite* limited in the evening, although I hope to be able to join in on the weekends occasionally.
Gonna miss y’all.

Random Thoughts as the Anniversary of 9/11 Approac…
I wonder if any of us can help but have our thoughts travel back to that Tuesday morning of September 11, 2001. When I watched the horrors unfold on television that morning, along with the rest of our country, I knew that it was one of those defining…..
