This week in the SEC….Nuke’s Pix

November 10th, 2007 at 10:58 am . by nuke

Oh yeah baby, where yat?

Saturday in the SEC, it just don’t get better’n ‘dat.

As hard as it is to pick against the home field advantage, this week will see some surprises, and some road wins. You read it here first, folks.

In the early game, Bama travels to Stark Vegas to take on the Dogs…….This will be one of the most physical games of the year, for both teams. Coming off a heart-breaking loss to LSU, Bama will start out flat against the rested Dogs. That will be the difference in this low-scoring affair…….This week’s upset special, State over Bama by a TD.

The Razorbacks travel to Knoxville, and this one presents one of the more intriguing matchups of the week. Darren McFadden is so good he’s scary. The Vols defense will get a test, but the home field will make the difference. Rocky Top will be heard early and often, as will the call of the hogs in a high scoring affair. Tennessee by a FG

Kentucky at Vandy should be a great matchup, but coming off an open week after being humiliated by Mississippi State, the Wildcats will have something to prove. Kentucky by 21

Auburn travels to Athens for the CBS game of the week. The road team has won 11 of the last 14 in this hard-hitting series. Make it 11 of 15 as Georgia takes a close one.

Florida goes to USC, on ESPN, and takes on the old ball coach on his home turf. All the experts are picking the Gators. Nuke’s 2nd upset special of the week …..USC winning with ball control and an inspired defensive effort.

LSU polishes up their BCS ratings by entertaining Louisiana Tech in a cross-state massacre. Although Tech dreams of the upset, the dream gets crushed when the game begins. LSU scores early and often and wins by a basketball score.

Those are my picks folks…..What say you?

Infidelophobia (we got mail!!!)

November 9th, 2007 at 10:32 pm . by nuke

Time to take a short break from Primary politics…….

Some time ago at the old Nuke’s News website, n2l posted a piece called Infidelophobia™ In the Words of the koran

This post has been a popular one according to the stat counter, and continues to receive a number of hits each day. As a matter of fact, the old website still outdraws the new one. But that’s a story for another day.

The following comment was posted by an enlightened visitor….I thought I would share it with you…..

listen haterz,I’m a dedicated muslim n i dont believe in this bull. First off,, )-”When you meet your enemies who are polytheists [Christians], invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them … If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them”,, christianity is a monotheism based religion not polytheism n this is talkin bout ploytheism. we dont spread Islam by the sword. A muslin can sleep at a christians but not eat because they eat pork which is not allowed in Islam n a muslim can eat a jew’s, because they eat kosher, but not sleep at a jew’s because they’re backstabbers according to the past in Islamic n judaism history of war. If u actually take the time 2 interpret the Qu’ran it makes alot of sense n answers all your questions. It’s the only religion that makes sense. next time noe ur history b4 u post anythin like this again

The only thing marriam left off the missive was the understood “or else” ending.

Thanks marriam. You’ve sure cleared up a lot for us.

Truthboating Update

November 9th, 2007 at 9:54 pm . by nuke

NOTE: Hillary’s treasurer, Andrew Grossman, has filed on Hillary’s behalf four false FEC reports from her 2000 campaign. This is not old news. The 4th amended report was filed in January 2006 after the FEC fined the campaign for hiding $721,000. Hillary has been put on notice to correct the false report, but she has done nothing about it. It is time to put on notice the person who signed the false reports.

Mass resignations at CBN in wake of Rudy endorsement?

November 9th, 2007 at 8:55 pm . by nuke

Nope. Not a single one.

Not even one single article criticizing Robertson’s move.

Just this small disclaimer at CBN’s website.

Pat Robertson as a private citizen has recently endorsed a candidate for public office. As a private citizen he has the right to participate in the political process, and is entitled to express his personal views. CBN, as a public charity, does not support or oppose any candidate for public office, and as a result will not address or comment further on this matter.

Well, I’m glad they cleared that up.

CBN’s Lee Webb recently wrote, “I criticized [Mike] Huckabee, when he was governor of Arkansas, for refusing to sign a bill that described natural disasters like tornadoes and floods as “acts of God.” He said signing the legislation would have violated his conscience.” Webb said his criticism was justified, “especially when it involves an issue as fundamental to orthodox Christianity as God’s sovereignty.”

Webb is entitled to his opinion, but his premise is flawed. I happen to disagree that the Governor’s refusal to violate his own conscience in carrying out the duties of his office is somehow an affront to the sovereignty of The Almighty.

But, I am wondering about the Rudy endorsement, and CBN’s disclaimer that they “will not address or comment further on this matter,” and I wonder if Lee Webb and the rest of the staff at CBN are going to stand up for God’s sovereignty in the matter of killing unborn children, or if instead, Webb can come up with another theological argument that will allow him to keep both a straight face as well as his job without violating his own conscience.

Prove all things.
