Forget Bird Flu. You need to worry about Redneck Flu

October 13th, 2007 at 3:08 pm . by el nuko

from FoxNews.com h/t Robert D

Most fans would probably think that a homeland security emergency at a NASCAR race would take the form of a terror attack. But after hearing all the noise in Washington the last couple of days, they’d be wrong.

The argument began when congressional aides were advised to get real-life immunizations against several communicable diseases — including hepatitis, diphtheria, tetanus and influenza — before traveling to look at preparations being made by local first responders for hypothetical scenarios at the tracks in Talladega, Ala., and Concord, N.C.

The head of the House Homeland Security Committee called it standard procedure, but the congressman representing Concord called that bunk.

Gentlemen, start your engines . . .

“I am beginning to get offended,” said Republican Rep. Robin Hayes. “We thought it was silly that you needed to get a vaccination to come to Concord to go to the NASCAR races. This is the greatest sport on Earth today and you sure don’t need a shot to come down here.”

Homeland Security Chairman Bennie Thompson of Mississippi said he never meant to offend or scare anyone about health risks at the races.

Big Bennie Thompson’s hatred for white people is longstanding and undeniable. From his unapologetically racial political campaigns for Hinds County Supervisor in the late 70’s to his election to the House in his gerrymandered congressional district, his safe seat makes him a favorite for advocating far-left causes.

“If you talk to the Whites in Mississippi they will tell you, ‘You can go to any school you want to; we don’t see race.’ Biggest lie ever told.” source

Leslie Southwick and Charles Pickering, both white Mississippians up for Federal judgeships, earned false and misleading posturing from Big Bennie, who accused them of racism. It didn’t matter to Thompson that many black Democrats told Thompson that the judges were not racist. They were white conservatives. To Thompson’s, that’s all that matters.

As Thompson’s stature rises with his chairmanship of the House Homeland Security Committee, Thompson will undoubtably learn to mask his hatred of whites better.

Illegal Immigrant Population Grossly Underestimated!

October 7th, 2007 at 10:27 am . by no2liberals

File this one under Knock Me Over With A Feather!

Homeland Security’s Office of Immigration Studies released a report August 31 that estimates the number of illegal aliens residing in the U.S. is between 8 and 12 million. But the group Californians for Population Stabilization, or CAPS, has unveiled a report estimating the illegal population is actually between 20 and 38 million.

Source link.

I had read a study almost a year ago, that stated the illegal immigrant population was estimated to be 33 million, and found it believable. It makes since that the number would have grown in that period of time by another 5 million. Based on the sheer volume of hispanic students in public schools, all across the nation, the lower number expressed by Homeland Security is obviously too low.
The screaming and whining in recent weeks, about ICE and local police working together, arresting and deporting illegals, is an action I strongly support, as well as the building of the fence on our Southern border. If our country will just continue to enforce the laws we have on the books, this crisis can be dealt with, and the flood of new illegal border crossers will diminish.

“the greatest campaign finance scandal in American history”

greatest-campaign-finance-scandal-in-american-history.jpgNow that this phrase has been published by a respected member of the MSM, and, as such, is now in the LexusNexis search database, it seems appropriate to associate that phrase with the person to whom it refers: Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I received a ping from FReeper “Spirit of Allegiance” this morning which pointed to an article which featured our pal, “Dougfromupland.”

The article was in the San Francisco Chronicle’s on line edition. Here is the introductory paragraph of the article about “the greatest campaign finance scandal in American history.”

In his other life, Douglas Cogan, 59, is a San Bernardino County commercial real estate broker. But for years, the conservative Republican has spent thousands of hours painstakingly researching what he calls “the greatest campaign finance scandal in American history” by a woman he calls one of the most dangerous political figures the country has ever seen - Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Since it appears that Google has enabled “google-bombing” again, I thought it might be interesting to get the phrase, “the greatest campaign finance scandal in American history,” permanently associated with Hillary Rodham Clinton. That is the purpose of this post. And, if any of you bloggers out there want to join in, just copy+paste this post at your blog, or pass it along in the comments section of your favorite blogs. The more the merrier. I’m going to track-post it to Linkfests, and post it at FR and Hannity. I’ll also activate every tag I have ever used to associate it with this post. Heh.

Communists attack Mexican pipeline

September 10th, 2007 at 8:10 pm . by el nuko

Need another reason to build the border fence?….From Breitbart…

VERACRUZ, Mexico (AP) - A shadowy leftist guerrilla group took credit for a string of explosions that ripped apart at least six Mexican oil and gas pipelines Monday, rattling financial markets and causing hundreds of millions of dollars in lost production.

The six explosions could be seen miles away, and set off fires that sent flames and black smoke shooting high above the Gulf coast state of Veracruz.

At least a dozen pipelines, most carrying natural gas, were affected, said Jesus Reyes Heroles, the head of Mexico’s oil monopoly Petroleos Mexicanos, without providing specifics.

He said there would be hundreds of millions of dollars in lost production and about nine states and the capital, Mexico City, would be affected.

“It is a big blow,” he said. “You can’t store natural gas or transport it by truck.”

The blasts caused brief jitters in international markets, with natural gas futures up as much as 20.2 cents on news of the explosions, although prices dropped in later trading. One oil pipeline was hit in Monday’s attack but Pemex said the damage wouldn’t affect crude exports.

Some local factories were forced to shut after natural gas supplies were cut. Residential supplies were not expected to be affected.

There were no immediate reports of injuries directly caused by the explosions and fires, although Fernando Leon Yepez, a civil defense official in Omealca, reported that two elderly women died of heart attacks shortly after the explosions.

It was the second time in three months that the so-called People’s Revolutionary Army claimed responsibility for a pipeline attack as part of what it has labeled its “prolonged people’s war” against “the anti-people government.”

Prepare to fend for yourself

September 10th, 2007 at 6:43 pm . by el nuko

As if you didn’t already know to do this, there is nothing like having a personal preparedness plan. Those who are counting on governmental help in a time of crisis are going to be disappointed — if they survive the crisis.

Recent GAO report shows some interesting findings regarding a possible flu pandemic.

Federal investigators said Monday that the nation’s preparedness for a potential influenza pandemic is hindered by a lack of training and testing.

The Government Accountability Office said the Bush administration’s bird flu plan provides a broad description of the responsibilities of federal agencies. For example, the Department of Health and Human Services is to lead the medical response. Homeland Security would lead other aspects of the response. But, there would undoubtedly be overlapping responsibilities that are not clearly defined.

Since the release of the plan in May 2006, national pandemic exercises involving multiple agencies have not been conducted. Such exercises would show which agencies understand their responsibilities, the GAO said.
