“Government is too big and too important to be left to the politicians.”

The System Works and the Left Whines

In the aftermath of 9/11, President Bush felt we needed some new guidelines to investigate terrorists. If we take a third grade review of government (and mind you, I went to public school, so this will be very basic), there are three branches meant to keep each other in check. Executive, legislative, and judicial. Let’s review the path of the Patriot Act.

President Bush (executive) requested that congress (legislative) daft the Patriot Act. Congress (legislative) complied. They drafted and passed the bill. It has been challenged in court, and the supreme court (judicial) upheld the bill. So all three branches of government reviewed and accepted the Patriot Act. Government worked exactly the way it should, but the left can’t handle it. They still call the Patriot Act illegal and unconstitutional.

Anybody who has ever discussed the Patriot Act with me has heard me say 100 times it only works properly with a correct system of checks and balances. The FBI can not be allow to arrest Joe Stoner for smoking a joint under the pretext that he was being watched as a possible terrorist. They can not be allowed to expand, abuse, or skirt the system. The Justice Department has just identified multiple cases where the FBI has done such things. Now corrective actions are being taken to fix the problem. In other words, the system worked, once again. But the left can’t deal with it.

They feel obligated to, as usual, whine and cry that the descrepancies occured. I mean, the left can come from a place of perfection, since they have never had a descrpancy, like a BJ in the Whitehouse or 90k in cash in a freezer. Oh, wait. Nevermind. At least FBI is doing something about their issues.
