Sometimes I Really Don’t Like My Party
I was traveling for business, so I didn’t get to see the Republican debate. I did, however, hear after the fact Ron Paul’s insane assertion that 9/11 was our fault. Dr. Paul was starting to win some points with me up until then. That’s not what has me upset right now though.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The chairman of the Michigan Republican Party said Wednesday that he will try to bar Ron Paul from future GOP presidential debates because of remarks the Texas congressman made that suggested the Sept. 11 attacks were the fault of U.S. foreign policy.
Wow. Instead of letting Ron Paul spew his idiocy and lose miserably in the primary, we should censor him. Anyway, isn’t that exactly what debates are for? To find who the wackjobs are? Crazy.
Back on the topic of Ron Paul’s moronic statement, does he think Muslims slaughter Buddhists and Hindus because of their foreign policies? Those vicious, imperialist, war mongering Buddhists.

I would suggest you read the 9-11 Commission report and Bin Laden’s 1996 & 1998 fatwas to learn that American foreign policy DID play a significant role in the terrorist attacks against our fine nation.
May 17th, 2007 at 6:55 amI do not claim to understand the situation between Muslims and Buddhists and Hindi people, but I do understand that this was somewhat political going back to the struggle for independence at least.
However, Ron Paul was not talking about Buddhists and Hindi people. He was espousing exactly that which is espoused by Michael Scheuer, James Fitzgerald and the 9/11 Commission. The ABSURD thing is not Ron Paul’s view (blow back, very common), but that Rudy Giuliani claims to have never HEARD of it! As the mayor of New York City, you’d think he’d have read the National Commission spawned by the attack on his city, which he uses to claim National Security as his issue.
Ron Paul offered a public debate of foreign policy to Mr. Giuliani. Heck yeah, let’s get some real debating going on. Giuliani knows next to nothing about foreign policy.
Because you were traveling, I suggest you go back and watch the full exchange, and the post-debate, and realize that Giuliani didn’t say anything meaningful, and Paul has been completely misrepresented.
May 17th, 2007 at 7:05 amRon Paul blaming the U.S. for being attacked by Muslim Jihadis is like blaming a rape victim for being scantily clad.
While I agree with some of Congressman Paul’s observations that the U.S. should not be involved in international treaties and entanglements, I am glad we fought in and won World War 2 which involved us around the world.
In the Jihadis’ view our current hot war is a continuation of retribution for the Crusades which occured long before the United States. I would suggest you read more deeply into Bin Ladin and other Jihadi writings to see that whatever we do or don’t do, the Jihadis will want to convert or kill us all.
