We Better Hurry Up and “Redeploy” So the Killing Can Start Again

The debate over the US military’s engagement on the Iraqi battlefield is raging on Capitol Hill with congressional Democrats attempting to defund the campaign through back-channel means. Simultaneously, reports are coming from a multitude of sources – both inside and outside of Iraq – that testify to the overwhelming success, to date, of President Bush’s “surge” initiative. Why are our elected officials wasting taxpayer dollars, allocated in the form of their salaries, to debate turning a victory into a defeat?
Anti-war activists, the mainstream media and liberal Democrats like Harry Reid, David Obey and Ted “Hope Floats” Kennedy are no strangers to ripping defeat from the jaws of victory. A perfect example of this can be found in the Vietnam War where politicians interfered with the generals to literally hand the Communist North Vietnamese a victory.
The US military, unmatched on the battlefields of Vietnam, was effectively neutered by politically and socially imposed limitations. In the end, it was the US military – the superior and more lethal fighting force – that was portrayed as weak and frail, ineffective and inept, not the inferior Communist forces championed by the mainstream media and the anti-war left. Their propaganda, delivered by an agenda-driven media monopoly, even turned the inarguable US military victory of the Tet Offensive into a perceived loss.
Today, the anti-war zealots of the intellectually challenged Progressive-Left – while they declare their support for our troops but not their mission (an oxymoron if there ever was one) – are plotting and scheming to once again impose political and social limitations on our Armed Forces in a transparent attempt to bring about another self-imposed US “forfeit.”
The politically opportune cry of the poorly equipped soldiers in the field when factually the US military is the best outfitted military the history of the world has ever seen. The anti-war activists insist that troop moral is dismal when every report from the battlefield – sans the agenda-driven slop from 60 Minutes – indicates otherwise. They say we are losing the war when the indisputable facts prove that we have won every battle in which we have been engaged since the beginning of the War on Terror.
The anti-war Progressive-Left protest, scheme, propagandize and plot from a non-factually based position of emotionalism using the amplified voice of their bullhorn mentalities while the facts of the matter disprove every aspect of their arguments; arguments that immediately dissipate upon scrutiny.
As Hamas readies for a massive confrontation with Israel, aided by the maniacal Iranian puppet of the mullahs, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and the Syrian and Iranian backed forces of Hezbollah, a valid question to ask is this: how can the anti-war left be so blind as to not recognize that forces mired in pure concentrated evil are amassing the wherewithal to unleash a genocidal hell on Earth in their quest for Islamofascist dominance and the establishment of a Islamic caliphate?
It baffles the mind that the leaders of al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, al Aqsa Martyr’s Brigades, Ansar al Islam, the Taliban, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Jemaah Islamiya, and the Muslim Brotherhood, among many others – all radical Islamist terrorist organizations, many with a presence within the United States – can say exactly what they plan to do, liquidate the “infidel” and convert the world to fundamentalist Islam, yet the anti-war Progressive-Left insists on believing that sensitivity training, dialogue and economic sanctions are the best solutions to their aggression.
In an internal publication created by the Republican House Policy Committee, chaired by Congressman Thad McCotter (R-MI), it states quite correctly:
“In Iraq, the American Revolution and the Iranian Revolution have met. The outcome will determine the fate of hundreds of millions of lives. If we lose, Iran will slaughter and enslave the Iraqis and others within the region. But when we win, Iraqis will help lead the region into a new birth of freedom, just as emancipated African-Americans helped lead our nation into a new birth of freedom. All God’s children have the inalienable and equal right to be free; and we are all equally God’s children.”
The rational thinking among us must strive to engage and bring clarity to those who would put blind ideology and/or political opportunism ahead of achieving victory on each and every battlefield in the war against Islamofascist aggression. Being psychologically coerced into retreating from the battlefield – no matter where the location and no matter what the detractors argue was the catalyst for the deployment – can only be described as an exercise in defeatism.
The US should not “redeploy” so that murderous, ideological thugs can claim, yet again, another Fifth Column manufactured victory. We shouldn’t “redeploy” only to let the slaughter begin again.
