Rising Unemployment and Illegal Immigration

I have been pondering the unemployment issue for a while, especially the El Centro, CA figure of 23.3%… We all know an illegal worker is NOT allowed to draw unemployment benefits. But something here just doesn’t make sense. We keep on viewing the world with a double standard where we as law abiding citizens assume those who draw government benefits and those who give them are doing so according to the Law. I believe this to be a totally false assumption.
We keep finding out via the Sanctuary City movement, people and officials are breaking the law contrary to our assumptions.
- It is illegal to cross the border, but millions do it anyway.
- It is illegal for a non citizen to work without a permit/green card, but millions do it anyway.
- It is illegal to fill out government forms under false pretenses but millions have done so on the I-9.
- It is illegal to use someone else’s social security number, but millions do so anyway to get a job.
- It is illegal to misrepresent your citizenship status in obtaining a driver’s license, yet we have governors prepared to literally look the other under the guise of bringing them out of the shadows.
- We still have police departments directed not to hand over illegal immigrants to ICE and NOT to ask regarding their immigration status in the first place.
Let’s be clear about the above activities, most of them are felonies with prison time in excess of one year:

Science Daily: Linking Depression With ‘Americanization’ of Latinas

Another day another “study” of dubious worth. This time it is Science Daily letting us know that “Latinas” in the United States have high rates of depression because of that dreaded “Americanization” they apparently unfairly face. So now, just the gall-darn, odiousness of becoming “Americanized” is enough to send “Latinas” to the funny farm, I guess. But, it seems to me that this “study” tends to say that it is single motherhood and out of wedlock pregnancies causing the depression not the fact that they are “Latinas” that have become acculturated to American ways.
Just look how horrible it is for Latinas to become Americans:
A study of 439 U.S. and Mexican-born Latinas seeking pregnancy and postpartum services at public health clinics in San Antonio uncovered elevated levels of depression among the more “Americanized” women, report researchers from The University of Texas School of Public Health and The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
First of all, I have to say that the term “Latina” is ridiculous in the first place, just as is the word “Latino.” The term Latino covers far too many cultures, nationalities, races and languages to be a useful term. A Haitian person has a different culture than does a Mexican and those “Latinas” actually born in the United States (women such as appear in this study) have absolutely no cultural connection to a Bolivian… yet they are all supposedly “Latino.” The term Latino is completely unacceptable for its imprecision to be used as a category in any serious study.

Don’t tell Nike, but we have changed their slogan from “Just do it” to “Do it now!” We see no point in advising them of this event. They are happy with the way things are. We made this change last month when we signed up for a two week tour of New Zealand and Australia. This trip is one Barbara (my spouse) has wanted to take since her high school days. Whenever discussion about going to Australia came up, as it often did, I’d make all the comments you’d expect from one who knew such a trip would never happen. I don’t like to slosh cold water on people’s dreams. You know how that goes.
Things changed one day in early June when a travel brochure arrived. It was an invitation to tour New Zealand and Australia including a three day cruise of the Great Barrier Reef on the Coral Princess, a 25 stateroom boat. Within an hour we were having a serious discussion about doing it. The rationalizing went very well. We are nearing the time of life where such trips are becoming physically difficult. With a 25 couple limit we knew from experience that it doesn’t take long to book the entire cruise. Within three days we had made the commitment. We had been going along with the “Just do it” routine for years. It was time to “Do it now!” We did and another adventure has germinated!

The San Diego Union-Tribune published a story last week that typifies the lack of perspective and a refusal to give a more full account of the facts in the illegal immigration debate common from too many media outlets. The Union-Trib was all worried that “22 migrants have died in S.D. sector” but didn’t seem too interested in all relevant information, leaving only a vague feeling that sympathy is due these “migrants,” as they repeatedly call them, instead of illegal aliens.
First of all, the very title itself of the story by staff writer Norma de la Vega calls these illegal invaders a much more benign “migrants.” It’s as if they are legal entrants, honest “migrants,” instead of those sneaking into the country through the desert back country of San Diego.
Feminists Truly Hate Women

On Sunday, July 13, in Jonesboro, Georgia, an immigrant Muslim father strangled his daughter to death in a so-called “honor killing” because she protested being forced by her family to marry a man she did not know. No feminist uttered a word about the murder of twenty-five-year-old Sandeela Kanwal. On the following Wednesday officials in the city government of Atlanta, Georgia bowed to the pressure from one feminist nut to stop posting “men at work” signs in the city because they are “sexist.”
The contrast is stark as well as revealing, if not entirely disgusting. It reveals an American feminism that is a hypocritical, unserious, sham that deserves nothing but derision. A movement that indulges in oblivious, frivolity while real pain surrounds them.
The western world is in the midst of a clash of cultures that is killing thousands of people every week. The west is seeing a religio-political system calling itself Islam perpetrating some of the most oppressive actions against women in modern history. Women are daily and by the millions beaten, raped, mutilated, and oppressed in uncountable ways by adherents of a so-called religion. This is not only happening in far away lands, either. Imigrants are importing these barbarous, uncivilized ways into the west and right into our midst.
Girls of Muslim heritage throughout the west are being forced into marriages against their will, sold into sexual slavery, their genitals are being mangled in a faux religious ceremony and they are being treated as second class citizens by their parents and relatives, immigrants of Muslim background.
And as these very real crimes against women occur what do the feminists of Atlanta, Georgia get all exercised about? The elimination of signs that say “men at work.”
