Freedom and Power Video Part 2

This video produced in 1952 uses less animation and more live action to show how electrical power and freedom are linked. This video shows how many advances in technology that were achieved during the life of a 75 year old man in 1952. A “house of the future” is shown from a 1952 perspective and I find it very interesting. My favorite quote is, “We are not a nation of destroyers. We are a nation of builders!” That is a true statement. Unfortunately there are many Americans born and raised who would ridicule this video and deny its point of view. If you love America, you will love this video.

If you don’t love America, this video will make you arrogantly laugh or get angry. Detractors of the United States want the U.S. weak and “wussified”.

One of the main goals of Environmental Collectivists is to shut down the motor of the world through ignorance and paranoia about the environment. To shut down the motor of the world the United States must be weak. For those who think the United States is bad or repressive, consider this: Millions of people would not risk their lives to get into the U.S. illegally if it were as bad as U.S. detractors say it is.

    Freedom and Power Video

An excellently produced animation produced in 1952 which shows that electricity and its multiple uses was developed by free individuals and that we are all freer today because of electrical power. This video is reminiscent of a time when it was encouraged to feel good about your country. It has everything great…guns, freedom, and technology in a time when America wasn’t so “wussified.” If you love America, this video will make your heart swell with pride and happiness. If you don’t like the United States, this video will make you have an aneurism. Enjoy.

The Secret of American Production Video

This film produced in 1955 by Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas breaks down very simply why the United States is so productive and has such a high standard of living. Notice that the instructor mentions the “Freedom TO” do things not the “Freedom FROM” doing things. Today Collectivists trumpet freedom from hunger not the freedom to produce more food. The “Freedom to” is liberty, the “Freedom from” is dependancy.

    Hat Tip: Bookworm Room

By MARK STEYN in the OC Register

This past week’s issue of the Economist has a heart-rending vignette from one of the most ruthlessly capitalist industries on the planet:

“In 2006 EMI, the world’s fourth-biggest recorded-music company, invited some teenagers into its headquarters in London to talk to its top managers about their listening habits. At the end of the session the EMI bosses thanked them for their comments and told them to help themselves to a big pile of CDs sitting on a table. But none of the teens took any of the CDs, even though they were free.”

“That was the moment we realized the game was completely up,” an EMI exec told the magazine. In the United States, album sales in 2007 were down 19 percent from 2006. Don’t blame me. I still buy plenty of CDs. But that’s because I like Doris Day, and every time I try to insert one of these newfangled MP3s into my fax machine it doesn’t seem to play. But if you’re not Mister Squaresville, and you dig whatever caterwauling beat combo those London hep cats are digging on their iPods, chances are you find the local record store about as groovy as the Elks Lodge.

    Going Places Cartoon Video

Richard Disney | Business, Collectivism, Nostalgic Video, Quotes, Richard Disney, Socialism, Vintage Video, capitalism | Saturday, January 12th, 2008

Hat Tip: Bookworm. Thank you Bookworm for posting this cartoon!

Here is another gem of a cartoon produced in 1948 by Searcy College in Arkansas. This is a cartoon that should be shown in schools around the United States and probably would be but for the Collectivist bent of the educational establishment.

My friend Ed Morrissey at Captain’s Quarters blog was right on the money (as usual) when he encouraged me to dedicate a catagory of my blog to vintage nostalgic video content. There is a large community out there that shares my love of these video gems.

Ronald Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized Medicine

Hat Tip: BurfordHolly commenter at Captain’s Quarters blog.

This nostalgic content is addictive. We need someone now who can enunciate clearly and simply about how insidious Collectivism is like Ronald Reagan did in 1961. This audio clip is part of a Long Play (LP) record sent out by the American Medical Association as part of the Operation Coffee Cup Campaign.

I know it isn’t video but I am still putting it in this catagory.

    Make Mine Freedom Video

    Hat Tip: Internet Archive.

In another nostalgic video we see a case against “ISM” and why it is dangerous to our freedom. This cartoon was produced in 1948 and it is interesting to see today how many members of many “isms” would be howling at the top of their lungs against this simple cartoon were it broadcast on any Main Stream Media (MSM). Enjoy.

Too bad, embeds not working well from Internet Archive site.

Hillary Clinton Slammed by Washington Post

Funny video slamming Hillary Clinton. You know Mrs. Clinton is on her way down when even leftist newspapers like The Washington Post come after her.

    This video is “Hillarious”.

    Collectivism Is Never Entirely Voluntary

Ken Marrero nails it once again in his post Go West, Young Man…

I have had discussions with Collectivist Socialists who say that it is fine to force those who produce to give to those who don’t. You know “from each according to his ability; to each according to his need.”

To that I say; if every single person votes to institute Socialism then it is acceptable, but if even one individual votes against it, then it is tyranny.

The greatest service an individual can perform for his fellow man is to be self sufficient.

Ken’s post Go West, Young Man… follows:

I’ve been writing and thinking about Socialism of late and I realized, while running down a mental rabbit trail, that Socialism only functions if there is a strong, large central government. I’m unaware of any Socialist government that developed naturally. All examples I can think of came about when an existing central government was co-opted by Socialists and its power and resources were twisted to fit the new agenda. Sometimes the process is sudden and violent and sometimes slow and subtle, but it remains true that Socialism aggressively inserts itself into a society, it is not welcomed in as a liberator.

There is plenty of evidence it is trying to do so here in the US despite its very public history of failure. The question is not, “How can we stop it?” The issue is much more subtle, in my opinion. The question is, why are we asking the question at this point in time? Put another way, “How has Socialism made such inroads that we’re having to ask at all?”

It would appear that after only 390 years or so, our populace has reached a place where the values and spirit that created the brilliant governmental supernova that was the American Republic no longer run deep in our hearts.
