I found this story looking through Lucianne this morning. Of course, it was filled with anti-gun moronic views so I couldn’t resist adding it to my blog.
Although gun control is generally a tough sell in Pennsylvania, where gun owners’ rights are a major concern in many areas, Philadelphia Mayor John Street said a coalition of mayors from Pennsylvania and neighboring states favors measures such as restricting gun purchases to one per month, and allowing municipalities to enact their own gun-control laws.
“Today may very well be just a bigger beginning,” Street said. “Whether or not those bills pass today or whether they pass later on, we are involved in this fight for the long haul.”
Gun violence has been a particular concern in Philadelphia, where more than 280 people have been killed in homicides so far this year.
But New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the lack of restrictions on the number of handguns someone may buy in Pennsylvania helps criminals in border states obtain weapons illegally.
Nearly 90 percent of guns used to commit crimes in New York City come from out of state, he said.
“What happens in Pennsylvania or in any other state doesn’t stay in Pennsylvania or any other state,” Bloomberg said. “We can’t fight illegal guns from behind state lines. This is a national problem requiring cities and states to work together.”
I guess PA isn’t like Vegas. I can’t help but wonder what exactly genius Bloomberg thinks defines a criminal? Last I checked, they weren’t law abiding citizens in the first place and I really believe they could care less what anti-gun laws PA passes because … well … THEY BREAK LAWS YOU IDIOTS. Anti-gun legislation simply makes it harder for honest, law abiding citizens to protect themselves.
