Welcome to the new home of Sunflower Desert

Thanks so much for visiting my new address. If you have me on your blogroll, would you please change the link? I think Velvet had a brilliant idea packing up and moving over here. So, I followed her. Tieki Rae is here too!js-wheatfields.jpg

I look forward to posting in the near future. I apologize for your comments being in with my posts, but hey, just keep commenting and they should turn out normal from now on.

This theme may change on and off until I figure things out a bit. Hang in there with me!

Well, I need to get ready to head to KS, the land where I grew up and haven’t been to for nearly 4 years! See ya around:)

    Yay! You did it!

Yay!!! I did it!!! Thanks to you Tieki ;) I can hardly wait to see you tomorrow!

    Congratulations, Tammy!

But why are you on Conservablogs?! I thought you were a liberal.

    Psych!

Lol! Yeah, they let a liberal sneek in under the radar :)
I think you know me well enough that I cannot even pretend to be a leftard. It would give me a headache!

  3. 3 Velvet Hammer

Alrighty then. I can now comment. Good job. :D
Good to see you at Conservablogs. I think we have all made the ‘right’ decision.

Yes Velvet, sometimes I wish I were a computer geek so that I could figure things out faster :) I think it was a great choice to follow you right on over here! (Not that I’m stalking you — lol!)

  4. 4 Kevin

Did you guys have problems at your wordpress site? Or did you just move here because ‘conservablog’ is a cooler name?

  5. 5 Velvet Hammer

    LOL Tammi

    Hi Kevin
This is my posted reasoning. ;)

    Hey Kevin,

We’ve been thinking for a while about taking the plunge and finding a host and setting up our own sites. I decided against it because it was hard (for me, as a poor college student, haha) to justify spending a monthly fee for something I’m not even sure how to work yet and don’t really need — like I need, say, food and clothing. :)

ConservaBlogs.com is appealing not only because it’s free, but because it’s a growing conservative blogging community. I can’t speak for my mom, but I’ve really enjoyed getting to know everyone over at wordpress and you (the outcast at blogspot ;) ), so I’m excited about getting in on the “second or third floor” as Velvet said, of something that is only going to get bigger and bigger. Pretty much I was just ready for a change of some sort for Haemet.

How’s that for an explanation of sorts? Oh, and obvi the name is cooler. ;)

Kevin, I think of you more as an odd ball rather than an outcast :) And you probably know me well enough to know that anything with the word conservablog in it is just my kind of place.

Tieki and I have been considering branching out for quite some time, which is quite an adventure for me. Who knows, I could turn into a computer nerd yet? Remember, I like to post controversial things on and off, and like Velvet says, this looks like just the place to do it.
What does my header look like to everyone else? Lol — I have it stuck like that and cannot fix it. Get use to it :) because I’m certain you haven’t seen the best of my blog destruction abilities yet ;)

You guys (jersey slang for either guys or gals) crack me up! Here’s my concern, which may be unfounded:

LGF, Jihadwatch/dhimmiwatch, Jawa, and freerepublic were all blocked for a few days, no doubt by complaints from Islamists. So, how soon/often do you think they will attack conservablog? My guess is ’soon and every day’.

I’m just guessing. Nevertheless, I’ve RSS’d both of the Wyoming gals, even though one of them often hides out in NY!

Congrats on the new blog home! Like i said on Tieki’s renovated blog, I have requested moving one of my starter projects from wordpress over here. I think Wyoming will be able to benefit from it. We’ll see what happens…

    Safe travels for you all!

    Hey Kevin,

Have you not read this piece? It gives me more confidence than I know what to do with. Lol, really I just hope I’m up to the task:)

Not to mention, those sites you mention apparently have something worth saying or no one would have bothered blocking them. Just remember this:

Thinking that between these two and our other new lady blogger, Velvet Hammer, ain’t NOBODY gonna mess with us when we blog down the street …

    Hi Scott,

Really, starting something over here? Do tell. That is so exciting.

I hope the pressure from that link I just provided to Kevin inspires Tieki Rae to blog regularly. Though, really we know that it is not lack of inspiration but lack of time. Still, that shouldn’t hinder someone who can type over 100 wpm should it?

I forgot to vote this week in the photo contest! But I’ll be heading over to check it out before the evening is over.

At some point I need to pack for KS. Ted and I washed the truck this morning and I mowed the grass, but that doesn’t get the clothes in the suitcase. Thanks for the safe travel wishes. Let’s just hope that Tieki Rae doesn’t get the terrorist treatment at the airport. Well, I guess it’s really not for terrorists anymore;) mainly just innocent looking kids like her. I bet she could get through security completely unnoticed if she wore a I love Jihad T-shirt or something?

  13. 13 Kevin

Haha! I wrote a story about the Wyoming Syndicate over there :).

  14. 14 Tammi

Thanks for the link TT. Not a big fan of pit bulls, but that doesn’t mean I think they should be abused by idiots either.

    Thanks Kevin ;)

  15. 15 Eric

    Tammi,

What do you mean when you say the header image is stuck and you can’t change it? Do you need another image uploaded to over write it?

    -Eric

  16. 16 Nuke gingrish

    we’re not in KS anymore…

  17. 17 Angel

sure thing hun..I will change the links asap!..blessings to u and Ted always. :)

  18. 18 Tammi

    Hi Eric,

I think Tieki Rae has figured some things out for me, but she had to quit in the middle of working on it because she has a friend meeting her in DC today for fun today. Therefore, I have no clue what I need, but I think she will help me when she’s around and has time.

Lol — I might want some plug ins though. Any suggestions? :)

Oh and my comments are driving me nuts — whenever I go back into edit them, it spews some html stuff all over the place that shows up when I press the edit comment button. Maybe I have something set wrong?

Nevertheless, I’m happy! Easy to please here in WY.

  19. 19 Tammi

    Hi Nuke -

    Heading to KS though :)

    Thanks Angel!

  20. 20 Mommy Zabs

This is wonderful. I like the way your masthead looks! also let me know if you have K2 Questions (the theme you are using) I’m pretty familiar with it, and there are whole forums and nightly updates on the programming! I love it!

  21. 21 Tammi

    Thanks MZ –

Yeah, I stole the K2 idea from Tieki Rae because she said that’s what you use and you’d be able to help us in our time of need:)

I know that you’ve started commenting within guest comments — which I didn’t like at first, but it has grown on me and I really do like it now. Anyway, I was trying that here, but there is so much html stuff that shows up in the comment after pressing the edit comment button. Any advice with that? And could you email Tieki and I the links to the columns and such that you speak of? Thank you!!!

    Hope your weekend is spectacular!

  22. 22 the Grit

    Hi Tammi,

And here I thought you were off on a trip. Don’t be surprised when a large virtual moving van pulls up next door. We should be ready to announce our new blog tomorrow or the next day, depending on when I hear from the Brit.

Speaking of K2, when did it get three columns?

Good luck with the new host, and don’t worry, we’ll be reasonably quiet neighbors, although we may have the occasional junk car or old refrigerator out in the yard :)

    the Grit

  23. 23 Tammi

    Hi Grit,
I’m in Denver now just checking my comments. We’re going to leave in a few minutes to pick up Tieki Rae from the airport and then it’s on to KS.

I look forward to finding you as a new neighbor when I check back in!

  24. 24 Scott

I’m just wondering, did the TV station in central Wyoming pay you two off to use the K2 theme when joining Conservablogs? That’s almost close to “pulling a John McCain” trying to buddy up with the media like that :-D

  25. 25 Tammi

    Lol Scott!

  26. 26 theobromophile

Congrats on your new home. My only complaint is that you’re now far away. I’ve gotten in the habit of checking my blog surfer and wondered why things were so quiet around there. Sigh….

  27. 27 Tammi

    Thanks Bridget,

I know the heartache of the blog surfer, this is why I switched to a reader a few months back. I love the WordPress blog surfer, but unless friends have the free WordPress blog, they don’t show up.

Tieki uses google reader and I use netvibes. Though, I am so far behind on reading others it’s just ridiculous! With any luck, Friday’s Comment of the week will show me what I’ve missed!
