I gave up on the NFL when they went to free agency in ‘95. You cannot talk about the NFL in terms of football, without the conversation eventually turning to “can we keep the team together with free agency and the salary cap?”
*SPIT*

Hey no2liberals,

I certainly understand your frustration with professional sports, namely the NFL. I get fed up with one guy getting singled out as though he is the entire make up of the team. I think this sort of garbage has its place in individual sports such as tennis and golf, but not team sports.

I haven’t been able to go cold turkey where the NFL is concerned. I’ve enjoyed watching the colts over the last few years. I think they’re a classy organization. I do get tired of the TO’s and Randy Moss’s who think the sun rises and sets around them, but I hate for them to ruin it for the true athletes and players of the game. So, I try not to let them.

All that said — I hope Vick gets convicted, but I won’t hold my breath.

Yeah, Deion sure didn’t seem surprised at all. His column leads to the speculation that he’s possibly attended these asinine events too. I hope they make an example out of Vick and find others in the process.

Sorry, I love animals, and the rule of law, but I just can’t get worked up over this issue.
Call me if he gets convicted.
In the meanwhile, I will continue to ignore professional sports(except for racing), as I have for many years. When someone asks me about the Cowboys, I just tell them I have no idea, I don’t follow the NFL. Most times they say something like…”you don’t like football?” To which I tell them, I absolutely love football, but you asked me about the NFL…that’s Hollywood, not football.

I’m convinced from comments like Deion Sanders who admits that he knows other professional athletes that fight dogs, and Clinton Portis, who only winked and nodded and said that dogfighting was a “black thang” that Vick is just the tip of the iceberg. I would not be at all surprised if more NFL stars weren’t involved in this scandal.
