Comment of the Week!

Yay! It’s Friday!

This is really difficult! I kid you not — the people commenting here ROCK and it’s nearly impossible to pick. So, never get offended if you don’t win because you’re right, you deserve it.

This week’s honor goes out to the lovely Angel regarding my post on the abused terrorist at Club Gitmo who has it really really bad, but doesn’t want to leave his grave like cell:

aw poor thang might get tortured a bit..Boo frikken Hoo! :)

Remember how to play:

  • Go back to your own blog and find your favorite comment that someone left you
  • Copy it and bring it back here and post it in the comments of this post
  • Please feel free to link back to your blog /post where the comment took place and also the commenter’s blog.
  • If your comment gets caught in the moderation queue, call me. Just kidding! I have a new plugin that should let you through the spam filter, even with the links! We’ll see, huh?
  • Okay — please play! Show some love!

Let’s not forget that it’s open trackback weekend at Angel’s place

Multiple winners this week: Everyone that commented on the lack of Xtreme Bulls on ESPN:

    Cheryl:

Your Dad isn’t the only one who was robbed. We took time out of our Saturday to watch the bull riding event too. And yes, we also were “treated” to some Spanish broadcast on the English speaking ESPN channel. What a bummer!

    Tammie:

The Cody extreme bull riding was telecast on ESPN on Saturday July 28, 2007. It was on from 11:00 am to Noon Mountain time.

    Bill Patten:

I too missed the extreme bulls and was very disappointed. No explanation whatsoever was given.
I use Dish network and have written to them explaining the omission.
My suggestion to ESPN is that if you are going to broadcast it then do so, or don’t. Live up to your word or don’t bother coming here and expect to be treated like royalty.
The community bent over backwards to help you and then was snubbed. If there is an explanation for this, I sure haven’t heard it.

    Geno:

I live in Kansas City and was planning on watching the event, actually planned out my day around the event. what a disappointment, when it was not on at the specified time.

  3. 3 Tammi

    Hi Scott,

You had some disappointed bull riding fans letting ESPN have it! Thanks for sharing. :)

  4. 4 Tammi

    Good morning Angel,

It was very profound for the topic! I’ve been stopping by your place, but you blog too fast for me to keep up with. It’s the weekend, I’ll come add my two cents after the work week is completed.

    Have an outstanding weekend!

Cody is the rodeo capital of the world. What I found most impressive is that there was even disgruntled folk in KC

  6. 6 CavMom

    I will give this a shot…

From my post “Why They Serve” http://cavmom.wordpress.com/2007/07/25/272/

    Kat in GA:

WOW! and WOW again! Incredible, amazing, and

    AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. 7 Tammi

    Hi Scott,
Because you live in Cody, I’m going to let you claim it a the Rodeo Capital of the World :) …. though coming from Dodge City, KS … ever seen Gunsmoke? ;)

  8. 8 Tammi

Thanks for participating CavMom. One thing I need to remind everyone of regarding the comment of the week is that the rules are flexible (though you followed them fine) and there is no wrong way to do it. :)

You guys can have as many winners as you want.

Especially thank you for the link to that awesome video!! I highly recommend clicking it, and I doubt that CavMom would mind you posting it on your own site. :)

  9. 9 CavMom

Please feel free to share. The young man in the video caused a swell of Patriotism in my heart!

  10. 10 Scott

It’s not just me that claims Cody as the rodeo capital of the world. Check any of the promo materials coming from Cody for the rodeo. Hard to beat one rodeo a night every night June 1-Aug. 31 with a PRCA event highlighting the July 1-4 weekend.

Here’s a pretty neat article describing the rodeo

I’ll have to check the video when I get a chance to go to the library and have free access to the high-speed lane of the information superhighway.

  11. 11 Tammi

    Hi Scott,
I’m hoping a new plug in will soon start recognizing friendly commenters and let them through without moderating, no matter what the number of links they post.

Anyway, I feel no need to defend Dodge City’s honor, and you do make valid points, so I’m conceding Rodeo Capital of the World to you. Just don’t try to claim Cowboy Capital of the World, because that does belong to Dodge City! ;)

  12. 12 Neil

While pointing out the illogic of same-sex adoptions and related matters one commenter kept insisting on surveys before he could form an opinion against them. I said, “Using his logic being raised by wolves would be acceptable until you had surveys to his liking that proved it was not as good.”

Sunday School Teacher’s response had me laughing: “Are those gay wolves?”

SST doesn’t have is own blog – yet – so I can’t link to it.

  13. 13 theobromophile

    Neil, that one was classic.

  14. 14 Tammi

Hi Neil, classic indeed. Sunday School Teacher leaves witty comments at your place quite frequently. I plan on chillaxin tonight and catching up on some blog reading.

Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend. :)

  15. 15 Tammi

    Hi Bridget,
Don’t make me go over to your blog and pick a winner too. :) Surely the Queen has left you something worth repeating?

  16. 16 Neil

Hey - where is the Queen? Haven’t heard from her for a while.

  17. 17 theobromophile

Well, I don’t think she wants me spreading our phone calls all over the internet. She hasn’t left blog-love since her comment regarding almost shooting her mom, who had come over to leave roses. :)

Last I heard: she started work on Monday, bought a new car and will be getting her black-on-black, red leather interiour Mustang in soon.

  18. 18 Scott

Just don’t try to claim Cowboy Capital of the World, because that does belong to Dodge City! ;)

Transplant or not, that’s pretty risky stuff for a Wyomingite to be saying [insert throat-clearing smiley here]

  19. 19 theobromophile

It’s been a quiet week over in pachyderm-land. Nevertheless, we have a few good ones:

    Neil, on illegal immigrant labour:

Ever notice how those pushing for jobs for illegals, etc. never mean their jobs?

From Total Transformation (he’s right on with this one):

I guess it has to be understood that when liberals say an idea isn’t “mainstream,” it simply means they (and their circle of friends and anonymous commentors on the HuffingtonPost) don’t agree with it. Don’t bother to ask them to think like middle America, it won’t work. They find middle American values repulsive and offensive.

Don’t ask the subject, but here’s another one from TT:

Yeah, dealing drugs is unpleasant, but does classical music really that unpleasant to the ears of young thugs?

    Tammi, regarding the aforementioned:

On the other hand, I am shocked that TT’s brain is abnormal? Liberals should be so abnormal as the great TT.

    Neil, again, on emergency contraception:

That’s a rather dubious compromise - “You don’t have to dispense the medicine to kill a human being as long as your co-worker doesn’t mind. Oops - he is on vacation - looks like you have to be an accessory to murder today.”

    So true.

  20. 20 Tammi

Wow Bridget! Thanks for bringing so many great comments over. Totaltransformation is always witty and I remember reading that last one of Neil’s you have listed. Good stuff.

Congrats to the Queen on her new job and car too!

  21. 21 Tammi

    Hi Scott,

I’m not caving on the cowboy claim — after all, that’s where I found Ted. Well, actually, I picked him out of a yearbook, but he was in Dodge! :)

  22. 22 Velvet

LOL A good one from CerebralDebris on my Michael Moore in the Cross Hairs article.

The amazing thing to me are the number of suckers who glurp it all up like baby birds feasting on mom’s pre-digested offerings.

I have one other by the great Grit. :) on the same posting.

    Hi V,

Where’s the sport in that? Moore is far to large and slow moving to make a difficult target. Put Kucinich in the cross hairs. He’s small enough to make shooting him a challenge.

    the Grit

  23. 23 Tammi

    Hi Velvet,

I saw both these comments yesterday — glad you brought them over. :)

Your new blog is going great. I can’t keep up with you and I’m so impressed by all the comments people are leaving. Keep up your excellent work, I know it’s not easy and your effort is really demonstrated throughout.

  24. 24 Velvet

Aww..thanks Tammi. That is awful nice of you to say.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

  25. 25 Velvet

    Tammi
I have a surprise waiting for you.
Scroll comments. You can find it after the last one you posted. :D
