LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Los Angeles Police Dept. said on Wednesday it was investigating an allegation of sexual assault at the Playboy Mansion, the famed site of unabashed hedonism for more than 30 years.
News reports said the alleged incident took place at the weekend during a pajama party hosted by Playboy magazine’s 81-year-old founder, Hugh Hefner, who has lived and worked at the expansive property since 1971.
According to Playboy.com, the annual Midsummer Night’s Dream bash was attended by the likes of socialites Paris and Nicky Hilton, movie director Garry Marshall, rock star Dave Navarro and Oscar-winning actor Martin Landau.
An LAPD statement said detectives had started their investigation into “a possible sexual assault” on Monday.
“For reasons of law and confidentiality that are critical aspects in investigations of this type, no additional information will be released at this time,” the statement said.
A spokesman for Playboy Enterprises Inc., the adult-entertainment firm that owns the mansion and published the flagship magazine, also declined comment.
The mock-Tudor mansion sits on a lush six-acre (2.4-hectare) lot that Hefner bought for $1.05 million according to Playboy.com.
Located in the chic suburb of Holmby Hills, the estate has hosted thousands of parties over the years, drawing guests who luxuriate in the freewheeling atmosphere. These days, it is often rented out as a corporate entertainment venue.
I guess without the perverts in the porn industry, establishments such as planned parenthood would lose money due to not enough abortions being performed. Then, just imagine how women’s health would suffer! /sarcasm

OK, even a whore can be raped if she doesn’t get paid, much like any commercial business can be robbed if their goods are taken without proper compensation.
As to Playboy in general, while I do have some reservations as to their methods and overall ideology, they have served, over the years, a good function in our society by making discussions of sex and information about it more available. While I can understand that, from a current view on the subject, their role in social evolution could be cast in the negative, I was around when the only way to find out about these things was from locker room talk and from fumbling experiments in the back seat of a car, which, I would point out, most often didn’t offer the best advice on the subject. So, while they probably have taken it too far, I would say that there is some merit to what they did.

Agreed. Not sure what results people expect to come from visiting the slut farm, but I’ve got better things to spend my personal sympathies on. Unless of course, someone had been kidnapped and taken there against their will and then were assaulted. I guess my common sense tells me not to hang out around men who only view women as sexual objects and toys.
