Tony Snow. Class act. That says it all to me. It’s difficult to put into words how much admiration and respect I have for this man. He is intelligent and kind hearted. He has a way about him that makes you feel as though you’re good friends with him, even though you’ve never met. I’m glad he’s leaving the White House for his sake, but sad for the American people who get a kick out of watching him give David Gregory the slap down.
I emailed Tony at the White House back when he announced that his cancer had returned. Maybe some of you did the same? I received this reply, as I’m sure thousands of others did too, because Tony is a gracious individual:
THE WHITE HOUSE
WashingtonThank you for the wonderful email, and for including me in your
thoughts.I have gotten hundreds of cards and emails from all over the country,
and I’m amazed and delighted by each and every one. The entire path of
my life over the last few years has taught me a very valuable lesson:
that blessings come in unexpected packages. Although I normally wouldn’t
consider cancer a blessing, it has brought forth acts of kindness from
friends and strangers-and helped me understand the real power of
kindness and concern. It is as if I had been hoisted on the shoulders of
others, who have taken up my burden, and raised me up, so I can look at
life from a new and wonderful perspective. That’s one of the great things about being an American: people in this
country just want to do the right thing for others. And having been the
recipient of your kindness, I can assure you that I’m doing everything
in my power to learn from and emulate your example. Little gestures-a
call, an email, even a smile-can have enormous healing power, not just
on the person in need, but the person offering the encouragement. Isn’t
it great how we always feel better when we do the right things? So thank you for strengthening my faith in the things that matter-and
from the bottom of my heart, thanks for taking the time to write to me.What a great gift!
God bless,
TONY SNOW
HotAir links to Little Green Footballs reporting that the left is being as vile as ever over this. Ugh! I strongly dislike those hateful fools. I considered quoting the haters, but then decided I didn’t want their disgusting comments on this post. However, I do recommend clicking the links just so you never forget who the enemy is.
God Bless you Tony.

Should your husband be jealous Tammi? lol.
Hi John,
Well, he put up with my crazy crush on Pete Sampras for years … and this isn’t that serious.
My heart… it is breaking… BREAKING.
Seriously, in the future I should avoid reading heartbreaking news like this in the middle of lecture - specifically my “History of the Modern Middle East” lecture. We’re sitting there discussing the Ottoman Empire and I’m about to start bawling over Tony Snow. Close call for sure!
i feel the same way about tony snow, just seems like such a great guy. it is truly sad that he is leaving and i hope so much that he is able to enjoy life and get better.
also- fixed your issue (i think) let me know if you have any more problems.
Thanks MZ!
On the plus side, in the interim, the Press Sec’y will be a Cowboy State native. Washington is getting inundated with Wyoming lately
Hi Scott,
Yes, I had meant to mention that regarding the replacement. She also filled in for Tony during his absence and does a terrific job.
Although, if you watch the video through to the end and how Tony handles Helen Thomas, you gotta realize he’s just not replaceable.
Tony is my Second favorite - behind Cheney the Merciful. I am sorry that Tony is leaving, I wish he would take over PARTY communications. He is a class act and I hope he scores big in the open market.
Hi Jeffrey,
Well, Cheney is from Wyoming which explains his greatness.
Thanks for stopping in.
Tony’s last day of work at the White House is fast approaching — September 14th.
(Though, as Scott mentions, his replacement is from WY so she’ll do a fine job)
Thanks, Tammi. I moved from wordpress and let go of my words. I hope you drop by the new site.
Well, you’re on the Considered Friends blogroll list. Congrats on the new site! Did you import your posts in?
I look forward to checking out the new place more.
Note to all: I highly recommend checking out Jeffrey’s new site. His posts are always short, interesting, and to the point.
Not that there’s anything wrong with long posts
