Hagel Calling it Quits

Can I get a hallelujah? Next to winning a National Championship, this is the best thing that could happen for any state — having a RINO call it quits. Not only do we not have to suffer through this RINO running for POTUS, but he’s quitting the Senate too? Yes!

The Omaha World Herald has the story. I’ll save the bandwidth thanks.

    Hi Tammi,

You may have called it too soon. I saw something earlier pointing out that there is a law forbidding the arrest or detention of Members of Congress while going to or from the Capital, or while on official business. Apparently, in earlier times it was a common political tactic for local officials of a different party to have Congressmen arrested on their way to Washington to prevent them from voting. Anyway, with that kind of ammunition, I can’t say that I would blame the Senator if he decided not to be run out of office for tapping his foot in a public restroom.

    Hi Grit –
But this is Nebraska’s RINO Senator, Chuck Hagel. Are you thinking of Idaho’s Larry Craig?

I just heard this on the radio and couldn’t be happier–well, OK, maybe there are some things that could bring more feelings of joy to me, yea, in fact there are, but that’s an entire post in and of itself, so I’ll forgo the listing here. Anyway, two good pieces of news from Nebraska today: Big Red went “two and oh” for the season and Hagel’s not going to seek re-election!

Was interesting to hear the AP slant that the Dems have been talking w/ fmr. Dem. Sen. Bob Kerrey about throwing his hat in the ring.

    Tammi,

Don’t forget that this RINO wants to be Bloomberg’s running mate.

    Hi Scott,
2 and oh is right. I wasn’t expecting much from Wake Forest, but I have to hope it’s just because I hadn’t done my homework on them. Hopefully they’re better than I gave them credit for, or it could get real ugly when USC comes to Lincoln next Saturday.

As for Bob Kerry … NE has a problem with RINOs and Dems and it stems from the two largest cities, Lincoln and Omaha. Other than them, the state is Republican and conservative dang it! :)

    Hi Sam,
I didn’t know that — but you can’t surprise me when it comes to that snake.

You wanna know a secret? I voted for Hagel in 1996. Wasn’t much choice, and in my defense, no one new he’d turn out RINO. Don’t go telling people though, K?

I would rather see Olympia Snowe go.

    I have a dream today!

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be governed by the Republicans in name only but by the true conservatives they try to elect.

And when this happens, when we kick out the last of the RINOs, when we elect conservative leaders from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:

Free at last! Free at last!

Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

    Hi John,

Sometimes we have to take what we can get. :)

    Thanks Angel!

As for typing your stuff in every time … has that never changed for you? I’m not sure how to advise … do you use Internet Explorer or Firefox, because Firefox seems to remember me when I go back to certain places to comment. Let me know if it fixes itself or continues to be an annoyance.

    Kevin,

Great speech! Sounds a little familiar … but not exactly what I’ve heard from somewhere else before. :)

    I have that same dream.

You wanna know a secret? I voted for Hagel in 1996. Wasn’t much choice

I feel your pain. I’ve voted for a couple of less-than-stellar-Republican Wyoming legislators on the same grounds (not much choice when there’s only one name on the ballot, or is it ballet :-D ). As I’ve said before, they’ve done some good things for Wyoming, just not that great at being solid conservatives on the social issues. I’ve learned my lesson though. Now that I know what I know, I utilize the ol’ write in.

I just wanted to stop in and give you a big thumbs up for the victory Saturday!

    Thanks CavMom. :)

Now … for the upcoming game on Saturday … (biting nails) …

    Kevin -

Plagiarism as bad conduct is over-rated. Isn’t imitation the sincerest form of flattery? Well then, what is outright repetition? It’s simply saying that someone else’s point is so great that nothing else need be said! Such societal gems are too big for one person and should be community property for all citizens to utilize when speaking to issues.

Those small minds wanting to hoard for themselves the really good lines are those who’ve won life’s communication lottery and expect all of us to make do with lesser phrasing. I say, from them according to their ability, to me according to my communication needs!

So, Mr. Blog Comment Plagiarizer - grab yourself a tall, cold Bud Light Longneck and head off to the next blog and let ‘er rip! Do whatever you must to keep putting out the message:

    Neocons Rule, RINOs Drool …

Or words (yours or others’) to that effect …

Blue Collar Muse - Proudly plagiarizing for about 5 minutes, now.

Lol! I’m getting ideas for a whole new plagiarizing blogsite. :)

Those small minds wanting to hoard for themselves the really good lines are those who’ve won life’s communication lottery…

Isn’t that the truth? My husband and daughter were communication lottery winners. I just kind of ride their coattails. :)

Chuck saved us Nebraskans the trouble of chucking him out in the senate primary. He would have lost because Nebraska Republicans don’t cotton to phonies like Hagel that run as real Republicans and turn into defeatist, amnesty advocating, Bush bashing, Republican hating, Bloomberg praising RHINOS. Hagel gone? Thank you, Jesus!

  21. 21 Tammi

    Well hello Mr. Enright!

Very well put and I’m glad to hear that the Republicans of NE would have been giving Chucky the boot. Thanks for stopping in. Your comment made me smile. :)
