Video: John Stossel Links Gun Control to Higher Gun Rates

Hat tip to Ian Schwartz. Go figure, stricter gun control results in higher crime. Shhh … don’t tell the libtards or the Brady Bunch:

You don’t say. Again, animals have this one figured out. No one bothers skunks, porcupines, and grizzly bears, because those bastards fight back. No - everyone in the animal kingdom goes after the defenceless ones, who are no longer part of the species on Earth, having been appetizers for everyone who comes along. Survival of the fittest, people! Why is it that the Creationists need to explain this?

There are two basic facts that gun-control advocates do not understand:
    1) Crazed, deranged criminals are not to be deterred by little fines for possession of firearms the way that law-abiding citizens are. What’s a thousand dollar fine when you’re facing 25 to life?
    2) Crazed, deranged criminals, as crazed and deranged as they are, do not much like it when people shoot back. They go for the easy targets.

End result: hoping that a “gun-free” zone will deter criminal activity is like hoping that chaining naked prepubescent girls to the wall will reduce paedophilia.

Sorry. Couldn’t resist on the last line.

    Hi Bridget,
I guess I was kind of shocked that ABC News let Stossel do that story in the first place. I mean, really, letting the truth ooze out like that? Hmmm …

The only refutation was someone questioning the answer of gun violence with more gun violence … well, duh! Even my marble rolling pin is not an equalizer with a handgun. You’ve gotta fight fire with fire, so to speak.

Well, it’s back to work for me this week. I enjoyed the week off and now I’m counting down the 17 days until Tieki comes home.

    Have a great week.

I was floored to see it on ABC, too, Tammi. Helluva find… I may re-post and credit you. Too important.

I love the “higher violent crime rate here in America” alleged ‘argument’ from one commenter at the end of the vid, too. Perhaps the commenter would feel better if he was assaulted and killed in a country with lesser crime rates where he was not given the option to choose to carry and potentially defend himself? Thus, being the helpless victim of murder would not be so bad as long as you were killed in a statistically “low violent crime rate” country, eh?

Obviously he missed the Kennesaw message wherein the law requiring firearms ownership was not enforced, merely announced. There’s almost no friction between two brain cells suspended in a vacuum.

    Hi DI,

Your argument works well regarding hate crime legislation too. A white helpless victim of murder shouldn’t feel so bad because at least it wasn’t based on hate. Stupidity gone to seed I’m telling you.

Hope you found your blood pressure meds. ;)
