I checked out her blog, good for her. Odom informed me maybe a few weeks ago about a scholarship for college bloggers, does that ring a bell...?

Good luck on your business, I know what that's like. I'm a serial side-project junkie; it's not yet an AMA recognized condition, but I'm quite sure it'll gain acceptance in the near future. Oh, great idea! In fact, maybe I'll start a not-for-profit to publicize the seriousness of Side Project Pathology...

P.S. I'll put my credentials up against anyone. ;)

Hi Michael,

Thanks for stopping in, even though the posting has been minimal around here for awhile. My husband and I have started a business from home, and with working full-time in addition to ... well, it makes for some long days. :)

I wholeheartedly agreement with your assessment. It just seems like there is so much more that could be done to help Israel or even that Israel could do to help themselves. No matter how Israel retaliates, the media spins whatever they do, attempting to make them look like the bad guy.

I also agree that people have a responsibility to protect themselves -- your VA Tech example is a good one. Somehow, we've been steered into an attitude of submitting to criminals over the last few decades. Give them what they want, and they won't hurt you. Do what they say, and you'll be fine. Whatever you do, don't fight back. The police will come and save you, yada, yada, yada... All that is bull as far as I'm concerned. Those attitudes encourage and enable criminals/murderers.

My daughter has been blogging on the right to conceal and carry on campus. She is a full-time college student, and the subject was actually broached at her school. You might find it interesting how silly the opposition sounds, yet they are the ones thought of as rational. Strange.

Tammi,

In a way, this isn't "senseless", at least not in the way we'd normally think of it. It makes perfect sense if you're a Mohammedan. You desire a global caliphate; therefore, and since it is your religious doctrine, you either kill or convert non-believers. Since Jews won't convert, there's the answer. Western Europe might still be converted, so that evinces their strategy there. While the murder of innocents is never a good thing, there are two things worth noting that might be of some value:

1) People need to be armed. If a student at Virginia Tech had been armed, might there have been fewer people killed? How absurd is it that we can't take a lesson from what actually works - and what better example that this?

2) Islam is incompatible with liberty and western culture. The sooner people get that, the sooner we might be able to get on with a policy of separationism.
