I received the clip via email and didn’t notice it was out of TX.
I wonder if the oil industry’s monopoly on the energy market is what keeps these kind of inventions under wraps? Well, actually, I’m fairly confident it is. With gas being around $4 a gallon, there’s a part of me that would love to see the oil industry crash and burn, but I know that’s wrong. However, competitive energy sources could help to bring the price of fuel back down to the $1 to $1.50 per gallon range.
I am up in the air on this one. While I am well aware of the energy potential of hydrogen, it has historically required copious amounts of electrical energy to break water down to its’ basic chemical components… hydrogen and oxygen. In fact, it has required more electrical energy than its’ potential energy yield, thus, like ethanol, it is impractical and a losing proposition to pursue.
That being said, figure out how to streamline the process and use lesser electrical energy and you would truly have something! I have been watching the test progress of an apparently similar concept being marketed as the Hydro 4000. It is being tested, for the second time, by a tv station in West Palm Beach. The first test was so obviously flawed that I was moved to call the reporter in West Palm and tell him why. He seemed to listen and they are now retesting with a more realistic set of test conditions, free of the former opportunities for misleading results. We shall see.
Well, it didn’t take much and you have far surpassed my non scientific brain. My wishful thinking is that someday I might be able to travel from here to the east coast and back, enjoying some fresh delicious seafood, on about a gallon of water.
