Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Independence Day everyone! I had a cute patriotic picture to post, but WordPress is not feeling patriotic today. :)

Regardless, be safe, eat meat, (except for you Bridget) :) and have a blast. We’ll be out at the parade and celebrating our independence — however, it it gets too hot in the afternoon I might come into the cool house and visit some of ya’ll’s sites.

Bridget, since you don’t eat meat, maybe you could eat some extra ice cream? Yum!

Kroger had a deal on huge porterhouse steaks (24 oz. huge). $5.98 a pound! We’re all going to be sick from gorging soon, so let me take this time to wish you a very happy 4th, and express my sadness that even if Bridgette were here, she would not be able to enjoy our marinated cow parts, seared and blasted with prodigious amounts of hickory smoke.

There’s probably a salad or something though. I’m just in charge of the beef.

Someone tell Al Gore that this has been the coolest July 4 I can remember in Southern Illinois.

Hi Everyone — thanks for dropping in. :) The Fourth was celebrated in style in this town. We went to our friend’s house that sits on a hill and watched the fireworks all over town. It was fun. A little chilly, but fun. ;)

Oh, and Kevin, we had ribeyes that were on sale for $4.99 per pound. Delicious, and we have some leftover. So, steak and eggs for breakfast at our house. :)

A belated Happy Independence Day! :) (I was away from the internet world and am just returning to catch up.) It’s the day that always makes me teary-eyed and happy to be an American.

Thank you, Tammi. Yes, I ate extra ice cream. In fact, I ate a LOT of ice cream this weekend. Cows hide their udders when I’m in town.
