Quote of the Day Featuring the one and only Ann Coulter

I’m on my way out the door for work, but couldn’t help literally laughing out loud when reading Ann’s column this week. She’s just awesome:

This was such an enormous Democratic year that even John Murtha won his congressional seat inPennsylvania after calling his constituents racists. It turns out they’re not racists — they’re retards.

That was a great line! I also liked this one:

“For now, we have a new president-elect. In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president.”

I wonder how Sarah Palin would feel if she read that comment as she’s holding her beautiful new child.

Are you saying there is nothing wrong with the people that would re-elect Murtha? Perhaps “retards” isn’t the best word to use, but it sure seems to fit. Would you prefer sh*theads?

Neil — There were many gems in this most recent column. :) The one you mention being one them.

Nathan, not that I need to defend Ann, or even myself because I posted this quote, but Governor Palin’s child has nothing to do with this. It’s a little insulting that you’d make such a reference. Ann is using the term retard as slang, meaning a stupid or foolish person. I can think of no better definition for people who elect a Representative who refers to them as racists. So, climb on down from that high horse, buddy.

I’ll add in my opinion: Gov. Palin said that her baby is “perfect.” Since she wouldn’t apply that label to Trig, I won’t, either, and I think that anyone who does is a total jerk.

Oh, wait, I said “jerk,” which originally came from a derogatory term for one who pleasures himself. Um, let me try again. Dork? Again, sexual slang.

Dang, I can’t seem to win here! Looks like every single derogatory term has some sort of history that makes it impolite.

You guys laugh, but the point of Ann’s column is dead on target. The reason McCain lost is because he’s not a conservative. He’s too much of a left-winger. He’s a pretending liberal. Why should the public vote for a pretender when the real deal is available in his opponent?
