Comment of the Week!

Ah ha! I didn’t forget! (Mostly because I set an alert to remind myself with Outlook and am writing this Thursday night prior to hitting the sack.) :)

Yay!! It’s Friday!!! Always remember, EVERYONE is a winner that comments at Sunflower Desert (except for libtards).

Anyway, I thought it would be fun for the winner to be our favorite atheist elephant commenting on my Creflo Dollar tells Senator Grassley where he can put it post:

Sorry, the Constitution does not protect vulgarity, pornography, and the murder of children.
Ditto that. The First Amendment protects speech, not expression; a reasonable interpretation excludes porn. “Speech,” in 1790, did not include pornography.

The Constitution leaves matters of health, safety, and welfare to the States. If the people elect legislators who outlaw abortion, then you can’t whine and complain that it’s just not fair that you have to be pregnant after having unprotected sex.

My rant, by the way, extends to the estate tax. If you are smart enough to make your money, then you can decide if your kids are smart enough to spend it wisely; you can decide if your kids are fools, but hey, it’s your money and you can waste it; or you can decide if you want it to go to charity. I don’t see how the government should be involved in that.

(The worst part is, if you’ll permit an off-topic rant, that the estate tax hits really early. Imagine parents of a mentally and physically disabled kid. $2 million isn’t enough to keep that kid going for the rest of his life. Then there’s wealthy parents with a lot of kids - once you’re done splitting the pie eight or nine or ten ways, there’s not much, but hey, it’s still “a lot of money and really really unfair” so the gov’t taxes it.

The nation was founded on capitalistic principles, among others. If you don’t like it, go over to Russia or China or Romania, and enjoy the equality there - everyone is equally POOR.

Comment of the Week

Score! It’s Friday and I start my Thanksgiving vacation at 5 this afternoon.

Comment of the week goes out to No2liberals from the Left Winged Nuts Waterboard themselves post:knutcute.JPG

So, if I understand their demo, they are telling us that waterboarding is not torture, but agitprop?
What I found even more ridiculous, or exceeding the realm of audience comprehension, was the Admiral of the Chappaquidick ranting on the Senate floor, the horrors of waterboarding, and the horrid sensation of drowning.(!?!) What a dingus! As though Mary Jo Kopechne never existed.

In lieu of our normal rules, let’s play the Thanksgiving game at this post. Go there and comment, share your Thanksgiving plans, or even your favorite comments from the week from your own blog. It’s open game. Have a blast!

Comment of the Week!

thanksgiving.gifEnough of this inconsistency! Comment of the week is back and shall remain consistent throughout this holiday season! Can a conservative even use the word holiday anymore? Maybe I should say through this most wonderful time of Thanksgiving to the Lord Jesus and the celebration of the most precious gift ever sent to earth. There, I feel better.

Alrighty then, let’s get straight to the winner. Remember, everyone is a winner that comments at Sunflower Desert, except for liberals of course! Socialists and commies are just flat out losers. This weeks winner is Neil from 4Simpsons. Neil is one of those guys who can slap down a liberal and the liberal enjoy it. He just has that talent of tactfulness that I clearly lack. He commented on the Christian Democrats? post:

Hi Tammi - Good points and excellent distinctions. Liberal Christians often pervert “giving” to mean “taking other people’s money to give away.” The Bible doesn’t teach to be like Robin Hood, it teaches to give your own money - and with discernment! Don’t give to those who can work but refuse to. You hurt them and the people who really need your money.

Comment of the Week!

Yay!! It’s finally Friday!!! I hope all the people who are at the Conservative Leadership Conference are having a blast. In the mean time, it’s work, work, work, around here. Oh well!

This week, comment of the week goes out to someone we don’t know personally (at least not in our friendly little blogging circle), yet they said what I wanted to hear regarding my 1st Hand Reporting on the Presidential Forum in Wyoming.

The winner is Chris, and he or she is a precinct committee person here in Wyoming:

I am a Wyoming precinct person and I can’t wait to vote for Duncan Hunter at our countyhappy-face_happyface_smiley_2400×2400.jpg convention.

Aww … that does my heart good. Seriously folks, this man can win the election if the Republicans come together and give him the nod. I’m getting tired of hearing Christians talk about there being no good candidate to vote for. Hello!?

Comment of the Week!

Yes! Finally Friday! This week I’m giving the award to a one time only commenter. Jim Enright commented on the Thank God Chuck Hagel is resigning post:

Chuck saved us Nebraskans the trouble of chucking him out in the senate primary. He would have lost because Nebraska Republicans don’t cotton to phonies like Hagel that run as real Republicans and turn into defeatist, amnesty advocating, Bush bashing, Republican hating, Bloomberg praising RHINOS. Hagel gone? Thank you, Jesus!

I think he says that nicely. Don’t you agree? :)

FYI: We will be traveling to and from Denver this weekend and I don’t anticipate being able to check my blog too much tomorrow once I leave work. So, comment away and know that I am not ignoring you. I look forward to catching up on Sunday evening. Take care and everyone have a fantastic weekend!

BTW, has anyone else notice that when we have to travel oil is always at record highs? Kinda ticks me off. Continue reading ‘Comment of the Week!’

Comment of the Week!

dorispagephoto-film.jpgIt’s Friday!!! Yay!!! Hope everyone’s week went well. I didn’t get much blogging done, yet my slacking will not prohibit some good commentator from winning the prestigious comment of the week.

It probably breaks all the rules, but this week we have a tie. I’d explain to you why this is okay for me to let there be a tie, but who cares? :) It’s still a tie: Continue reading ‘Comment of the Week!’

Comment of the Week!

Yay!! It’s Friday!! Ted made it home last night around 6:00 pm. So, thanks to everyone who had been keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. :)

Comment of the week goes out once again to CavMom. Her comment was from my most recent post Ruh Roh Shaggy!! Jerry Lewis Said Fag!! I guess we should all be thankful that he wasn’t talking about Silky. :)

Here’s CavMom’s comment:

We are awful at our house. We use remarks such as “fag” all the time. such as, “you’re such a fag.”

But, in our home it is equivalent to DORK. Why does the homosexual crowd get to claim all the good names? That is just gay.

Go ahead and bash me… Gay is another term in our house that simply means “lame”. We picked it up from the kids in the neighborhood and they are not calling each other Homos (Can I use that word?)

People need to lighten up. I am not offended when the word “Cracka” is tossed around. Nor do I care if I am called a Wap… Wanna try wuss? How about a religious nut?

No, none of it hurts even a tiny bit.

Buncha whiny girlie girls… They need to grow a set. I have been hanging out with the guys in the shop too long… I will back slowly out of your blog. Hope I don’t have the entire cast of “It’s raining Men” here to debunk my apparent misguided views.

Why does the homosexual crowd get all the good names? :)

For some reason, since we’ve switched servers I cannot upload pictures. I have a simply adorable picture of Knut sticking his tongue out … maybe we’ll be able to use it next week.

Comment of the Week!!

Yay!! It’s Friday and I’ve been slacking on Comment of the Week. We will resume play today.

This week’s honors will go to our favorite pachyderm from the Guess Who’s First post:

Well, as you know, you aren’t supposed to spank anyone in California, so how else is one supposed to impose discipline on those wild-child states?

Congrats to Wyoming. The primaries will be over by Halloween, at this rate. (Cripes, if Hillary wins the Dem primary, that’ll be a scare for everyone.)

That would be a scare for everyone Bridget!

Comment of the Week!

Yay!!! It’s Friday!!! Normally, I prepost Comment of the Week, but I’m belting this one out as I watch TSA open my luggage and go through it at the airport.

We’ve had some commenting problems with WordPress over the last couple of days, but we’re not going to let that spoil the fun. Also, keep in mind that I’m traveling, so I might not be able to make it to the spam compacter very regularly. Be patient, maybe Tieki Rae will have mercy and keep an eye on the filter today for me. (Hint Tieki.)

This week I am thankful for my new customized theme created by MommyZabs. However, the generosity of others always makes me emotional. Therefore, comment of the week goes to Kevin for offering to yet again, customize my header:

Here’s my suggestion. Feel free to use it! ;)

Comment of the Week!

It’s Friday!!! Did everyone get through the week okay? Hope so! This is going to be a little work, but let’s review all the winners since the contest first started. Shall we?

How many readers remember our first winner? You’d have to remember way back to June 15th. It wouldn’t take much of a stretch to guess Tieki Rae. It came from the Duncan Hunter for President post:

P.S. Don’t call my mom a leftie. That’s just rude. We don’t call you a moonbat for supporting Ron Paul (even though you are).

Who came next? It was the Grit and post was regarding child abuse. The Grit gave us a little perspective of umm … white trash living: (Not that the Grit is white trash!) :)

All of this brings me around to what I wanted to say, even though it is embarrassing, which is that the parents in question were probably telling the truth. This would not seem all that unusual, if you had ever seen a naked woman and a man clad only in his briefs and a cowboy hat on their front lawn, settling a dispute about their son’s desire to join the Boy Scouts, each with a kitchen knife in one hand and a can of beer in the other, at three in the morning.

See, with the proper background information to give it perspective, it all makes sense )

the Grit

Along came Neil as the next winner. If you’re not familiar with Neil, he posts some great stuff over at 4Simpsons and he even does a Bible Study blog. Somewhere along the way, he claims to have a real job too. :) Neil was commenting on my post about something silly coming out of Obama’s pie hole.knobama_narrowweb__300×3480.jpg

The lack of logic from these folks is astounding. The UCC blogger / pastor I read now and then is almost comical in his hypocrisy. He thinks all religions are valid paths to God (and the guy is just out of seminary!). He brags about working for the Obama campaign while decrying anything conversatives do to let their religious beliefs inform their political opinions. They are pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage but anti-sharing the real Gospel.

We didn’t hijack the faith, the Liberals walked away from it and kept calling themselves Christians.

23303152.jpgBy this time, we have reached the 4th of July. Independence Day. I posted a simple blog regarding the holiday and it attracted a socialist troll. He turned out not to be overbearing, but I think it was because my faithful readers kept him in his place. no2liberals won the contest with the following in response to the troll:

So if I follow your reading list, then I will come to think as you do, and believe as you do?
I like to set goals, and pursuing the goal of being pathetic, just doesn’t seem reasonable, to me.

O teach me how I should forget to think.
(romeo and juliet)

Finally, we get to Conservablog’s own Velvet Hammer. Her winning comment was found on the same Independence Day post and she, too, was schooling the troll:

Marcas - If only you’d allow other countries to have independance (sic) too!

Pardon me, but you have a lot of nerve dissing the US when all the while you support chavez. What hypocrisy.
And if you feel the need to question our love for watermelon, then you will never get it, and must not have ever eaten it.

Sweet, not only was she defending the democracy and freedom of our great nation — but also the patriotism of watermelon on the 4th of July! She’s awesome. :)

Next, comes John Kaiser, or Total Transformation. Same guy, different blogs. He was responding to my Michael Vic dognm_vick_070717_ms.jpg killer post.

Did you hear, Michael Vick released a statement. Here, I’ll repost it.

“To my legion of adoring fans. I am so sorry that I let you down. Not with the whole dog fighting thing, I mean regarding my abilities (or lack thereof) on the field. Between all my injuries caused by my failure to actually throw the ball (an odd thing since I am a quarterback), and my frequent confusion over whether I am the Atlanta Falcons quarterback or their running back, I haven’t played many complete seasons since I started with this team.

In addition, I know my stats have been pretty mediocre (except for yards on the ground, which are quite impressive FOR A QUARTERBACK). Also, I know that I frequently do incredibly stupid things like flipping off my fans and letting dog fights occur on my property. But can’t you forgive me? After all, it isn’t like I killed my wife.

Speaking of that, perhaps if I hung out with O.J. you guys might appreciate me more. Kind of like how when average looking girls have an ugly friend they look even better- but this would be more about morals than looks. I mean, seriously, do I have to hang out with O.J. and Pacman Jones in order to look like a half way decent and respectable quarterback? If that is what I must do, then I guess I must. As long as it doesn’t involve throwing the football, I hate doing that.

Well, I am off to the Golf Course to help O.J. find the real killers. Maybe I will get lucky and they will be responsible for all those dog fights too?!”

[The above was satire…as you could have guessed]

Next, we have the first repeat winner: Neil! He was just having a little fun since I had just made the move to Conservablogs:

Congratulations, Tammy!

But why are you on Conservablogs?! I thought you were a liberal.

Psych!

And last, but certainly not least … we have the lovely Angel. Her comment was simple, yet content appropriate considering the post:

aw poor thang might get tortured a bit..Boo frikken Hoo! :)

Now, we need to find a winner for this week. Remember, all of you are winners … I just use this really non scientific method to highlight one of you for the week.

Oh, what the heck, I’m tired from all that research and linkage. Let’s just keep this week a review and everyone do the following:

  • Go back to your own blog and find your favorite comment that someone left you
  • Copy it and bring it back here and post it in the comments of this post
  • Please feel free to link back to your blog /post where the comment took place and also the commenter’s blog.
