Rice: Democratic forces emerging in Palestinian territories

Exactly what kind of democracy would that be Secretary Rice?

Rice said Iran had suffered “setbacks” and Al-Qaeda was “on its heels,” while democracy had made a “breakthrough” with women voting in Kuwait, “democratic forces” emerging in the Palestinian territories and “a democracy at the center of the Arab world in Iraq.”

“We’re now beginning to see that perhaps it’s not so popular to be a suicide bomber. We’re beginning to see that perhaps people are questioning whether Osama bin Laden ought to really be the face of Islam,” she said.

Perhaps it’s becoming more popular to kidnap citizens in attempt to extort negotiations from actual civilized nations?

Hamas on Friday announced that it was suspending all negotiations with Israel over the release of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit. The deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau, Mussa Abu Marzuk, said that the talks were being frozen because Israel was not displaying commitment to the truce agreement with his organization in Gaza.

Captured? Let’s just call it what it is; kidnapped. Believe it or not, there is a difference.

Abu Marzuk told the London-based daily Al Hayat that Hamas would not send a delegation to the talks slated to take place in Cairo. He claimed that Israel was not living up to its obligations under the cease-fire and was closing the passages to the Strip.

“It does not make any sense that we should open negotiations while Israel does not honor the truce,” Abu Marzuk said. “The issue will be postponed until the Egyptians invest the efforts together with the Israelis - in order to honor the truce agreement - open the crossings and prevent Muhammad Dahlan and Fatah from sabotaging the truce deal.”

Abu Marzuk did not specify what Israeli truce violations he was referring to.

Hmmm… Israel’s latest negotiations with that other terrorist organization wouldn’t be playing a role in this, would it?

Another senior activist in the organization was quoted by the paper as saying that “After the prisoner swap deal between Israel and Lebanon, according to which Lebanese prisoner Samir Kuntar is slated to go free, Israel is expected to display greater flexibility in talks over a prisoner swap with Hamas.”

So, I’ll reiterate: Exactly what kind of democratic force is emerging? I’ll tell you, it’s not any sort of civilized democracy. Some people are just not eligible to participate in democracy, because they believe targeting innocent civilians is just, along with kidnapping and extortion.

Israel should let every Palestinian starve to death until they release Gilad.

More Stupidity from the AP

Saw this at the Jerusalem Post. IDF soldiers shoot and kill a palestinian youth who was unarmed? Apparently Molotov cocktails are not considered weapons? Possibly he was unarmed because he had thrown his weapon at the IDF soldiers? Insanely distorted:

IDF troops shot and killed a Palestinian youth during a night patrol in a West Bank village, according to Palestinian reports Sunday.

The IDF said a Palestinian attacked soldiers with two Molotov cocktails in the village of Tubas and the soldiers subsequently shot him.

Ayman Abdel Razek, a resident of the village, said troops shot the 17-year-old after midnight Sunday. He said village youths often throw stones at army patrols at around that time but that the youth was unarmed.

The Palestinian Red Crescent emergency service said the soldiers tried to resuscitate the youth but failed, and then turned his body over to Palestinian authorities.

It was the second such incident in two days in the West Bank. On Friday night soldiers shot and killed another Palestinian 17-year-old who Israeli and Palestinian officials said was throwing Molotov cocktails at a West Bank patrol.

The West Bank is not included in the rocky cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, which has been under way since June 19.

If it were me, and I didn’t want my kid getting shot and killed by IDF soldiers, I’d make him keep his ass at home and stop throwing Molotov cocktails at the IDF. That’s just me though. I have yet to find any common sense or human characteristics within the palestinian slime.

Here I sit …

In Casper, WY while Tieki Rae takes that dreaded little LSAT. I have to admit, the library is cool (temperature wise) and I’m positive other countries would not approve of how comfortable I am at the moment.

It’s kind of fun catching up on reading friend’s blogs along with a little news thrown in the mix. When summer hits, we tend to do more family activities and are not glued to the net as much as in the winter months.

In the meantime … I hope Tiek is doing well. We’re gonna have some fun once this goofy test is behind her. I hope you all are doing fantastic and having a spectacular summer.

Yeah, that’s Tieki Rae over 20 years ago.  :)

Conservative Blacks Leaning Towards Obama

From OneNewsNow.com.

Well, I guess that would just make them blacks then, not conservatives. Did it even once cross my mind to vote for Hillary because she is a woman and I, too, am female? Nope.

My biggest disappointment? J. C. Watts. I would have never dreamed this, even in my worst nightmares that he would be this racist:

J.C. Watts, a former Oklahoma congressman who once was part of the GOP House leadership, said he’s thinking of voting for Obama. Watts said he’s still a Republican, but he criticizes his party for neglecting the black community. Black Republicans, he said, have to concede that while they might not agree with Democrats on issues, at least that party reaches out to them.

“And Obama highlights that even more,” Watts said, adding that he expects Obama to take on issues such as poverty and urban policy. “Republicans often seem indifferent to those things.”

How, exactly does the DemonRat party reach out to the black community? By preaching to them that they are not as smart or capable as whites, and the only way they can achieve anything is through affirmative action? By giving them government handouts, with the message, “Because we know you can’t make it on your own.”?

Am I to apologize for being part of a party that doesn’t make distinguishments based on the color of someone’s skin?

At least some fellow conservatives still remain true to the cause versus their skin color:

Michael Steele, the Republican former lieutenant governor of Maryland who lost a Senate race there in 2006, said he is proud of Obama as a black man, but that “come November, I will do everything in my power to defeat him.” Electing Obama, he said, would not automatically solve the woes of the black community.

“I think people who try to put this sort of messianic mantle on Barack’s nomination are a little bit misguided,” he said.

Me too Mr. Steele.  :)

Heartbreaking Story — Family pet swept up and killed by a NYC Street Sweeper

Found this via Drudge. It just infuriates me that a city worker could be so careless and crass. It really hits home because we have a Boston Terrier and realize how they become a member of the family and steal your heart. I feel terrible for this family.

NEW YORK (CBS) ? A Bronx man is devastated after his dog was swept up and killed by a city street sweeper Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at Randall and St. Lawrence avenues in the Soundview section of the borough. Witnesses say the sweeper came speeding down the street, swerving to avoid a speed bump, before yanking the dog, a Boston terrier named Ginger, right out of its leash.

The worker should not be allowed to continue running this piece of machinery:

Ginger and her mate, Buster, were both on leashes on the side of the street when the sweeper approached. Witnesses say the vehicle was moving at about 30 or 40 mph, must faster than the 10 mph it’s supposed to go, and that the driver was listening to headphones.

“He came so close to the car that he sucked the dog off the leash,” said Isamar Maldonado, who saw the horrifying incident. “He was not paying attention, and while you’re on duty you’re not supposed to [have headphones] on.”

Witnesses say they chased the truck for blocks, but when he finally stopped they say he refused to shut down the mechanical broom.

“We couldn’t believe that man could be driving that fast and sweep up the little dog like he was a piece of garbage or something, and then don’t even say ‘I’m sorry,’” said Maldonado.

Apparently the Department of Sanitation thinks it’s fine for this moron to continue in his duties.

The driver of the sweeper continues to sweep streets in that neighborhood while the investigation is ongoing.

Never mind that according to witnesses he was driving too fast and not paying attention. God forbid if a child was in his way.

Because Obama Says ….

Oh my. This would be funny if this guy didn’t stand a chance of being the next leader of the free world:

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

What do you mean that’s not going to happen? Is he going to stop us or just attempt to make it so that no one can afford any of the luxuries listed above except for the communist dictator in office?

Yay!! We’ve got more states!

I ran into this little surprise over at HotAir. It just makes me giggle knowing that the DemonRat candidate doesn’t know exactly how many states he’ll be president over if he were to become president. Details.

Gov Will Campaign for Obama

Whose gov? Wyoming’s. I know, it’s a sad day when a red state like Wyoming has a moderate governor campaigning for a communist candidate with a wife who only recently became proud of her country. Ugh! Will this year ever end?

CHEYENNE — Although Barack Obama’s campaign has stumbled in recent weeks, Gov. Dave Freudenthal continues to support the Illinois senator in his quest for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.

“I still believe that of the two candidates the Democrats offer, Obama has the greatest chance of changing the gridlock chemistry in Washington,” Freudenthal said in an interview Friday afternoon.

Freudenthal will speak on Obama’s behalf during the Montana Democratic Party’s annual Harry S. Truman dinner May 10. Former President Bill Clinton is also on the speaker list to support the presidential campaign of his wife, Hillary Clinton.

I hope that turns out awkward. :)

Freudenthal said he looks forward to seeing and hearing the former president.

“He’s got to be easily the smoothest, most effective political orator on the scene today,” he said.

I’m assuming he means that as a compliment? And to show that Wyoming’s DemonRat governor is just as stupid as the other 99% of rats:

“With all due respect to all of the candidates, people who have seven-figure incomes arguing about who best understands people’s problems in buying gasoline is a little hard for me to take,” Freudenthal said.

Excuse me? Is Freudenthal suggesting someone who cannot even afford to keep gas in their vehicles run the nation? No, he’s just spouting out his liberal pie hole as usual.

I cannot help but wonder how the gun clinging citizens from Wyoming really feel about this ridiculous endorsement that in no way reflects the values of Wyoming. I think it reflects the values of the California transplants quite well.

Atheist Soldier Claims Harassment

Do we need a don’t ask don’t tell policy for atheists in the military? Well, according to an AP article on OneNewsNow, Specialist Jeremy Hall claims harassment for being an atheist in the military:

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. - Like hundreds of young men joining the Army in recent years, Jeremy Hall professes a desire to serve his country while it fights terrorism.

But the short and soft-spoken specialist is at the center of a legal controversy. He has filed a lawsuit alleging he’s been harassed and his constitutional rights have been violated because he doesn’t believe in God. The suit names Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

I’m having a difficult time finding where this soldier’s Constitutional rights have been violated, but I’m no attorney.

I find this part of the story strange:

Hall, 23, was raised in a Protestant family in North Carolina and dropped out of school. It wasn’t until he joined the Army that he began questioning religion, eventually deciding that he couldn’t follow any faith.

But he feared how that would look to other soldiers.

“I was ashamed to say that I was an atheist,” Hall said.

It eventually came out in Iraq in 2007, when he was in a firefight. Hall was a gunner on a Humvee, which took several bullets in its protective shield. Afterward, his commander asked whether he believed in God, Hall said.

Strange wording. Which was it? Was he afraid to say he was an atheist or ashamed? There is a difference. Hall has turned to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation for support. Hmmm … strange group. I’m having difficulty understanding their purpose. Is it to ensure that citizens in the military are guaranteed freedom from religion? While the video on the intro page of the website does not load and play properly, I find it offensive and ignorant that it is comparing Christian soldiers with radical islamists.

I have found this video on YouTube. Um, yeah, Ed Asner is involved. That alone answers any questions I have regarding the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. Basically, they want to expel Christianity from the US Military. Ugh! That would be a stupid move.

I think it’s fine if this man chooses to deny the existence of God. It doesn’t change or affect God. It just seems like this young man is borrowing trouble by suing the Defense Secretary. Of course, it’s not about the money or furthering a political agenda. I find it frustrating that our military is even having to deal with this with so many other real important matters on their plate.

What do you guys think?

Weekly Roundup on Sunday

I never done a weekly roundup before, but OneNewsNow is just full of good stories for the week.

Happy Birthday Israel! Turning 60?! Awesome. No nation has ever fit the bill as a miracle nation like the Israel does. Even more exciting — God told us in His Word that they would be a nation again. I’m getting ready to head to church or I’d leave references. Feel free to leave them in the comment section (Neil). :) Anyway, as frustrating as politics are right now, we are living in EXCITING times and Bible prophecy is being fulfilled each and every day.

Israeli activist, Gary Bauer, is urging the U.S. State Department to make sure former President Carter doesn’t run a muck the world meeting with and endorsing terrorists organizations:

Bauer, president of the conservative group American Values, says it is dangerous for Carter to grant legitimacy to the terrorist group. “This trip is an absolute disaster. It’s counter to the national security interest of the United States, and I want to call on the State Department to seriously consider revoking former President Carter’s visa so that this sort of trip cannot be done again. It is damaging to the interests of the United States,” Bauer contends.

I agree, but a reality check tells me this nut of an ex-President will continue in his asinine ways until he finally gets the chance to answer to God for his bone head foreign policy ideas. Ouch! I would not want to be Jimmuh on that day.

Guess what? National Right to Life is endorsing McCain! Really, what choice do they have?

National Right to Life has endorsed presumptive Republican nominee Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) for president. While McCain has not been considered the ideal candidate by most of the pro-life community, many consider him a much better choice than either Senator Hillary Clinton (D-New York) or Senator Barak Obama (D-Illinois).

And last but least, Californians had better start spanking their children while it’s still legal. I’m not saying that all children need spanked, but like it not, most do! I can pretty much guarantee you that our child would not be headed down the path of success if proper discipline had not been part of her upbringing.

The legislation is a resurrected version of Democrat Sally Lieber’s bill from last year, minus the outright spanking ban. The bill prohibits using “implements” such as wooden spoons, paddles, rolled-up newspapers, switches, belts, or brushes — essentially, allowing only the hand.

Randy Thomasson of Campaign for Children and Families warns that if the bill is approved, the penalty for their use is severe. “You’re going to be arrested, handcuffed, taken to the police station, [and be] charged,” he details. Thomasson says that once a parent is charged, then a jury will determine if it was reasonable for that parent to administer a spanking.

Not to start a parenting lesson here, but I truly believe spanking your child with your hand is wrong. Not to mention, very ineffective.

Well, I have to run to church. My apologies in advance if this post is full of typos — that’s what we get when we type with one hand and get in a hurry! :)
