Happy Mother’s Day!

I hope all my friends who are mothers have a wonderful Mother’s Day. I was blessed with beautiful flowers from Tieki, but the real gift comes when she flies home tomorrow.

At any rate, I’m happy that my child didn’t turn out like this one. ;) At least she was kind enough to request to the hit man, that if you shoot her with a shot gun, don’t shoot her in the face please. Even says please. What a sweetie. As for the mom, she’s good:

“I love her dearly,” Stribel told ABC News.

Stribel declined to comment further, saying, “We both have Mother’s Day this weekend. We need a little time for healing.”

I would need a lot of time for healing after that little plot, but I’m just funny that way.

Gov Will Campaign for Obama

Whose gov? Wyoming’s. I know, it’s a sad day when a red state like Wyoming has a moderate governor campaigning for a communist candidate with a wife who only recently became proud of her country. Ugh! Will this year ever end?

CHEYENNE — Although Barack Obama’s campaign has stumbled in recent weeks, Gov. Dave Freudenthal continues to support the Illinois senator in his quest for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.

“I still believe that of the two candidates the Democrats offer, Obama has the greatest chance of changing the gridlock chemistry in Washington,” Freudenthal said in an interview Friday afternoon.

Freudenthal will speak on Obama’s behalf during the Montana Democratic Party’s annual Harry S. Truman dinner May 10. Former President Bill Clinton is also on the speaker list to support the presidential campaign of his wife, Hillary Clinton.

I hope that turns out awkward. :)

Freudenthal said he looks forward to seeing and hearing the former president.

“He’s got to be easily the smoothest, most effective political orator on the scene today,” he said.

I’m assuming he means that as a compliment? And to show that Wyoming’s DemonRat governor is just as stupid as the other 99% of rats:

“With all due respect to all of the candidates, people who have seven-figure incomes arguing about who best understands people’s problems in buying gasoline is a little hard for me to take,” Freudenthal said.

Excuse me? Is Freudenthal suggesting someone who cannot even afford to keep gas in their vehicles run the nation? No, he’s just spouting out his liberal pie hole as usual.

I cannot help but wonder how the gun clinging citizens from Wyoming really feel about this ridiculous endorsement that in no way reflects the values of Wyoming. I think it reflects the values of the California transplants quite well.

Teen sisters killed in Springs

Very sad news from the Denver Post:

The two victims who died after the shooting at New Life Church in Colorado Springs are teenage sisters, and the girls’ father was also shot, according to police.

Colorado Springs police released the names of shooting victims this morning.

The two killed at the church are sisters Stephanie Works, 18, and Rachael Works, 16, police said. The girls were home-schooled, according to a district spokesperson.

Also, from the same article:

The shooter was shot and killed by a volunteer security guard at the church, said Boyd.

Boyd said the security guard, a woman with a law enforcement background, whom he did not identify, encountered the gunman in a hallway at the church and fired on him, saving many lives.

“He had enough ammunition on him to cause a lot of damage,” Boyd said.

Boyd said the gunman has no ties to the church.

“It was just absolutley random,” Boyd said. “A senseless random attack.”

Praise God for that courageous lady.

My most sincere sympathy to the families who lost loved ones in this tragic ordeal.

Students Strap On Empty Holsters to Protest Gun Restrictions on Campus

I guess we’ve learned nothing from the tragic murder of defenseless college students attending VA Tech. Well, nothing the people from the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence Group want us to remember.

The entire article can be found here, but this is the part I find dumbfounding:

“You don’t like the fact that you can’t have a gun on your college campus? Drop out of school,” said Peter Hamm, a spokesman for the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

When someone pulls out a gun and starts firing in a crowded environment, it’s more likely that additional victims will be harmed, Hamm said.

“Let’s be grateful that those holsters are empty,” he said.

Isn’t that mature? If you don’t like being stripped of your 2nd Amendment rights, drop out of school. Wouldn’t the Brady Bunch just love that? Only Libtards are welcome at universities now. Only in your wild and wacky dreams Mr. Hamm.

The practicality of students being able to carry their concealed weapons on campus was hashed out at the time of the VA Tech murderous rampage. Apparently the Brady Bunch believes that American citizens are ready to just duck and cover again. Not so much with the Students for Concealed Carry on Campus Group:

College students across the country have been strapping empty holsters around their waists this week to protest laws that prohibit concealed weapons on campus, citing concerns over campus shootings.

“People who would otherwise be able to defend themselves are left defenseless when on campus,” said Ethan Bratt, a graduate student wearing an empty holster this week on the campus of Seattle Pacific University.

Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, a group of college students, parents and citizens who organized after the deadly shootings at Virginia Tech University in April, launched the protest.

Comment of the Week!

dorispagephoto-film.jpgIt’s Friday!!! Yay!!! Hope everyone’s week went well. I didn’t get much blogging done, yet my slacking will not prohibit some good commentator from winning the prestigious comment of the week.

It probably breaks all the rules, but this week we have a tie. I’d explain to you why this is okay for me to let there be a tie, but who cares? :) It’s still a tie: Continue reading ‘Comment of the Week!’

DA: Officer justified for killing man at Capitol

Interesting story from Rocky Mountain News. Granted, I only watch the MSM sporadically, but I don’t remember hearing about this. Do you? I’m assuming the guy killed was white; and because it’s not a story of a police officer shooting a minority, then it’s not really newsworthy. As a disclaimer, this is pure speculation on my part, but without the good Reverends Al and Jesse coming to Denver, I think I’m probably right. Feel free to correct me if you know something I don’t.

A Colorado State Patrol trooper who shot and killed a gunman who walked into the Capitol last month feared for his life and the life of the governor and was justified to use deadly force.Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey revealed that finding in a 71-page letter sent today to Peter Weir, executive director of the Colorado Department of Public Safety.

Morrissey gives this account of what happened on the day of the shooting:

Aaron Snyder entered the west door of the state Capitol building shortly before 2 p.m. July 16. Within five minutes he entered the temporary offices of Gov. Bill Ritter. Snyder was dressed in a black tuxedo and was carrying Remington hearing protection in his left hand.

He stated, “I am the Emperor and I am here to take over the State of Colorado.”

State Patrol Trooper Jay Hemphill, who was assigned to protect the governor, intercepted Snyder in the reception area of the office, engaged him in discussion, and within a minute diplomatically got him back out the door.

Hemphill continued discussions with Snyder for approximately three more minutes.

They were standing immediately in front of the glass-windowed door to the governor’s office at arm’s length speaking in a moderate conversational tone. During the discussion Snyder’s comments were disquieting and became challenging.

Hemphill became concerned enough that he made a 10-78 emergency alert from his radio (emergency-officer needs help). Snyder unexpectedly slid back his tuxedo coat revealing a large firearm protruding from his right pants pocket.

In concert with this action, he stated: “No police are going to stop me.” Hemphill dropped the pen and notebook he was holding.

He drew his service pistol. As Snyder started moving toward him, Hemphill commanded loudly: “Stop-State Patrol- or I will kill you.”

Snyder ignored the commands and continued to move toward Hemphill. Hemphill fired four shots. Snyder fell backward to the marble floor of the Capitol just to the right of the door to the governor’s office. He was dead at the scene.

I have to share with you a leftard comment from an article in the Denver Post regarding the shooting:

Such anger in the happy state…..and so many questions.

1. Was the gun loaded?
2. Was the gun real?
3. Was there really a gun?
4. Was the emperor a threat?

Given the history of your police department, these are legitimate questions. In the end, law enforcement may be justified, but intelligent people usually wait for questions before spouting off in a rage.Posted by outback at 3:04 PM on July 16

I’m not sure why the officer didn’t risk his life and ask these questions first. He probably just has this crazy expectation of going home every night alive to his family?
