Rice: Democratic forces emerging in Palestinian territories

Exactly what kind of democracy would that be Secretary Rice?

Rice said Iran had suffered “setbacks” and Al-Qaeda was “on its heels,” while democracy had made a “breakthrough” with women voting in Kuwait, “democratic forces” emerging in the Palestinian territories and “a democracy at the center of the Arab world in Iraq.”

“We’re now beginning to see that perhaps it’s not so popular to be a suicide bomber. We’re beginning to see that perhaps people are questioning whether Osama bin Laden ought to really be the face of Islam,” she said.

Perhaps it’s becoming more popular to kidnap citizens in attempt to extort negotiations from actual civilized nations?

Hamas on Friday announced that it was suspending all negotiations with Israel over the release of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit. The deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau, Mussa Abu Marzuk, said that the talks were being frozen because Israel was not displaying commitment to the truce agreement with his organization in Gaza.

Captured? Let’s just call it what it is; kidnapped. Believe it or not, there is a difference.

Abu Marzuk told the London-based daily Al Hayat that Hamas would not send a delegation to the talks slated to take place in Cairo. He claimed that Israel was not living up to its obligations under the cease-fire and was closing the passages to the Strip.

“It does not make any sense that we should open negotiations while Israel does not honor the truce,” Abu Marzuk said. “The issue will be postponed until the Egyptians invest the efforts together with the Israelis - in order to honor the truce agreement - open the crossings and prevent Muhammad Dahlan and Fatah from sabotaging the truce deal.”

Abu Marzuk did not specify what Israeli truce violations he was referring to.

Hmmm… Israel’s latest negotiations with that other terrorist organization wouldn’t be playing a role in this, would it?

Another senior activist in the organization was quoted by the paper as saying that “After the prisoner swap deal between Israel and Lebanon, according to which Lebanese prisoner Samir Kuntar is slated to go free, Israel is expected to display greater flexibility in talks over a prisoner swap with Hamas.”

So, I’ll reiterate: Exactly what kind of democratic force is emerging? I’ll tell you, it’s not any sort of civilized democracy. Some people are just not eligible to participate in democracy, because they believe targeting innocent civilians is just, along with kidnapping and extortion.

Israel should let every Palestinian starve to death until they release Gilad.

More Stupidity from the AP

Saw this at the Jerusalem Post. IDF soldiers shoot and kill a palestinian youth who was unarmed? Apparently Molotov cocktails are not considered weapons? Possibly he was unarmed because he had thrown his weapon at the IDF soldiers? Insanely distorted:

IDF troops shot and killed a Palestinian youth during a night patrol in a West Bank village, according to Palestinian reports Sunday.

The IDF said a Palestinian attacked soldiers with two Molotov cocktails in the village of Tubas and the soldiers subsequently shot him.

Ayman Abdel Razek, a resident of the village, said troops shot the 17-year-old after midnight Sunday. He said village youths often throw stones at army patrols at around that time but that the youth was unarmed.

The Palestinian Red Crescent emergency service said the soldiers tried to resuscitate the youth but failed, and then turned his body over to Palestinian authorities.

It was the second such incident in two days in the West Bank. On Friday night soldiers shot and killed another Palestinian 17-year-old who Israeli and Palestinian officials said was throwing Molotov cocktails at a West Bank patrol.

The West Bank is not included in the rocky cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, which has been under way since June 19.

If it were me, and I didn’t want my kid getting shot and killed by IDF soldiers, I’d make him keep his ass at home and stop throwing Molotov cocktails at the IDF. That’s just me though. I have yet to find any common sense or human characteristics within the palestinian slime.

Conservative Blacks Leaning Towards Obama

From OneNewsNow.com.

Well, I guess that would just make them blacks then, not conservatives. Did it even once cross my mind to vote for Hillary because she is a woman and I, too, am female? Nope.

My biggest disappointment? J. C. Watts. I would have never dreamed this, even in my worst nightmares that he would be this racist:

J.C. Watts, a former Oklahoma congressman who once was part of the GOP House leadership, said he’s thinking of voting for Obama. Watts said he’s still a Republican, but he criticizes his party for neglecting the black community. Black Republicans, he said, have to concede that while they might not agree with Democrats on issues, at least that party reaches out to them.

“And Obama highlights that even more,” Watts said, adding that he expects Obama to take on issues such as poverty and urban policy. “Republicans often seem indifferent to those things.”

How, exactly does the DemonRat party reach out to the black community? By preaching to them that they are not as smart or capable as whites, and the only way they can achieve anything is through affirmative action? By giving them government handouts, with the message, “Because we know you can’t make it on your own.”?

Am I to apologize for being part of a party that doesn’t make distinguishments based on the color of someone’s skin?

At least some fellow conservatives still remain true to the cause versus their skin color:

Michael Steele, the Republican former lieutenant governor of Maryland who lost a Senate race there in 2006, said he is proud of Obama as a black man, but that “come November, I will do everything in my power to defeat him.” Electing Obama, he said, would not automatically solve the woes of the black community.

“I think people who try to put this sort of messianic mantle on Barack’s nomination are a little bit misguided,” he said.

Me too Mr. Steele.  :)

Because Obama Says ….

Oh my. This would be funny if this guy didn’t stand a chance of being the next leader of the free world:

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

What do you mean that’s not going to happen? Is he going to stop us or just attempt to make it so that no one can afford any of the luxuries listed above except for the communist dictator in office?

Gov Will Campaign for Obama

Whose gov? Wyoming’s. I know, it’s a sad day when a red state like Wyoming has a moderate governor campaigning for a communist candidate with a wife who only recently became proud of her country. Ugh! Will this year ever end?

CHEYENNE — Although Barack Obama’s campaign has stumbled in recent weeks, Gov. Dave Freudenthal continues to support the Illinois senator in his quest for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.

“I still believe that of the two candidates the Democrats offer, Obama has the greatest chance of changing the gridlock chemistry in Washington,” Freudenthal said in an interview Friday afternoon.

Freudenthal will speak on Obama’s behalf during the Montana Democratic Party’s annual Harry S. Truman dinner May 10. Former President Bill Clinton is also on the speaker list to support the presidential campaign of his wife, Hillary Clinton.

I hope that turns out awkward. :)

Freudenthal said he looks forward to seeing and hearing the former president.

“He’s got to be easily the smoothest, most effective political orator on the scene today,” he said.

I’m assuming he means that as a compliment? And to show that Wyoming’s DemonRat governor is just as stupid as the other 99% of rats:

“With all due respect to all of the candidates, people who have seven-figure incomes arguing about who best understands people’s problems in buying gasoline is a little hard for me to take,” Freudenthal said.

Excuse me? Is Freudenthal suggesting someone who cannot even afford to keep gas in their vehicles run the nation? No, he’s just spouting out his liberal pie hole as usual.

I cannot help but wonder how the gun clinging citizens from Wyoming really feel about this ridiculous endorsement that in no way reflects the values of Wyoming. I think it reflects the values of the California transplants quite well.

Weekly Roundup on Sunday

I never done a weekly roundup before, but OneNewsNow is just full of good stories for the week.

Happy Birthday Israel! Turning 60?! Awesome. No nation has ever fit the bill as a miracle nation like the Israel does. Even more exciting — God told us in His Word that they would be a nation again. I’m getting ready to head to church or I’d leave references. Feel free to leave them in the comment section (Neil). :) Anyway, as frustrating as politics are right now, we are living in EXCITING times and Bible prophecy is being fulfilled each and every day.

Israeli activist, Gary Bauer, is urging the U.S. State Department to make sure former President Carter doesn’t run a muck the world meeting with and endorsing terrorists organizations:

Bauer, president of the conservative group American Values, says it is dangerous for Carter to grant legitimacy to the terrorist group. “This trip is an absolute disaster. It’s counter to the national security interest of the United States, and I want to call on the State Department to seriously consider revoking former President Carter’s visa so that this sort of trip cannot be done again. It is damaging to the interests of the United States,” Bauer contends.

I agree, but a reality check tells me this nut of an ex-President will continue in his asinine ways until he finally gets the chance to answer to God for his bone head foreign policy ideas. Ouch! I would not want to be Jimmuh on that day.

Guess what? National Right to Life is endorsing McCain! Really, what choice do they have?

National Right to Life has endorsed presumptive Republican nominee Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) for president. While McCain has not been considered the ideal candidate by most of the pro-life community, many consider him a much better choice than either Senator Hillary Clinton (D-New York) or Senator Barak Obama (D-Illinois).

And last but least, Californians had better start spanking their children while it’s still legal. I’m not saying that all children need spanked, but like it not, most do! I can pretty much guarantee you that our child would not be headed down the path of success if proper discipline had not been part of her upbringing.

The legislation is a resurrected version of Democrat Sally Lieber’s bill from last year, minus the outright spanking ban. The bill prohibits using “implements” such as wooden spoons, paddles, rolled-up newspapers, switches, belts, or brushes — essentially, allowing only the hand.

Randy Thomasson of Campaign for Children and Families warns that if the bill is approved, the penalty for their use is severe. “You’re going to be arrested, handcuffed, taken to the police station, [and be] charged,” he details. Thomasson says that once a parent is charged, then a jury will determine if it was reasonable for that parent to administer a spanking.

Not to start a parenting lesson here, but I truly believe spanking your child with your hand is wrong. Not to mention, very ineffective.

Well, I have to run to church. My apologies in advance if this post is full of typos — that’s what we get when we type with one hand and get in a hurry! :)

Obama Opposes “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Policy

From CBS News.

Never mind the fact that it would cost millions of dollars to revoke the policy and let gays serve openly in the military. I cannot even believe it would be in the best interest of a person to serve openly gay in the armed forces. Of course, the homosexual agenda propagators really could not give a rat’s patoot about the efficiency and well-being of our military. Their goal is to simply shove their agenda down everyone else’s throats.

The last time I checked, our military actually served a purpose of protecting our nation, not some asinine cause of advancing the perverted propaganda for the homosexual agenda.

Here’s Obama’s take on things:

“But I think there’s increasing recognition within the Armed Forces that this is a counterproductive strategy,” he said. “We’re spending large sums of money to kick highly qualified gays or lesbians out of our military, some of whom possess specialties like Arab-language capabilities that we desperately need. That doesn’t make us more safe.”

I’d like to see the actual large sums of money that are being spent to kick highly qualified gays or lesbians out of the military.

Isn’t it cute how Obama refers to the gays and lesbians as highly qualified? He goes on:

Asked what he could reasonably accomplish for the gay community as president, Obama said he can “reasonably see” repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy as well as signing legislation to ban workplace discrimination against gays. He said he’d like transgendered people to be covered by the law, but thinks it would be tough to get such legislation through Congress.

Is it just me, or are others getting fagged from the LGBT bunch?

Donated Organs Spread Cancer

Did anyone else see this story? Wow, it really floored me. I’m not a big fan of organ donation because I think it has the potential to cause doctors to hasten deaths in the name of helping others. That’s just my opinion. I understand the dilemma of needing a vital organ or having a loved one who is waiting for a transplant. For me, personally, unless it were something like a kidney where the donor could remain alive, I’d probably pass on being a recipient, and head on into eternity.

Anyway, back to the news story. The family of the teenager whose organs were donated are devastated because they had no idea the young man had this rare form of cancer.

But the kicker:

Alex Koehne of Sag Harbor, Long Island, died a year ago of lymphoma, but his parents were told he died from bacterial meningitis. Since then, two of the organ recipients have died and two others are battling the same disease, according to the report.

I realize I’m no doctor … but why would it be considered safe in the world of medicine to harvest and donate organs from someone who died from bacterial meningitis in the first place? One would think common sense would dictate in a situation like this. The entire sad incident seems preventable. What do you think?

More AP Spin on Illegal Immigration

I stumbled on this article when reading the Casper Star Tribune online this morning. I’d like to say that it was while enjoying a Saturday morning cup of coffee, but I quit the stuff on March 10th. Ugh! I miss it most on quiet Saturday mornings. Anyway, back to the subject at hand. I had a hard time believing the opening paragraphs of the article:

HOUSTON - Mayra Figueroa a naturalized U.S. citizen, community organizer and licensed driver had no reason to fear being arrested, no need to worry about deported.

Then she was pulled over by a Houston police officer, who told her he found it suspicious that a Latina was driving a late-model car. The first thing the officer requested? Figueroa’s Social Security card, as proof of citizenship.

Who else doesn’t think this is true? Ms. Figueroa gets pulled over and the officer tells her he found it suspicious that a Latina was driving a late-model car? I doubt that. Most traffic stops are recorded, and I’m thinking no police officer would be that ignorant. I could be wrong, but that would be an unusual occurrence too. :)

The AP author uses this article to justify why it is wrong to either deport or threaten to deport illegals. Here are some examples:

But as local governments feel mounting frustration over illegal immigration, that hands-off attitude is disappearing. More than 100 local law enforcement agencies including Los Angeles and Orange counties in California and Maricopa County in Arizona, which includes Phoenix have begun or are waiting for training to help the Department of Homeland Security root out illegal immigrants and hand them over for deportation.

Advocates say the training beefs up the power of the overworked Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agency. Detractors say it will discourage millions of immigrants from reporting crime or cooperating with police investigations. They also cite evidence of poor training and overeager cops, like the one who questioned Figueroa.

Well, if they shouldn’t be here, send them packing. Period.

And what in the world is going on in New Jersey and when did Minnesota elect a Republican Governor?:

In New Jersey, the Attorney General ordered police to ask arrested suspects about their immigration status. In Minnesota, Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty signed an executive order requiring state agents to enforce immigration law.

“When my deputies come across illegals, they arrest them even on traffic violations,” said Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. “People ask me why I am taking this on? The last I heard, crossing the border is an illegal activity. I took an oath of office to enforce the law, so I am enforcing the law.”

Ready for the experts?

But some experts say it could spell the end of cooperating with police in immigrant neighborhoods.

I’m just guessing … but I think the author might mean illegal immigrant neighborhoods.

“People are very, very fearful of interaction with law enforcement, said Susan Shah, with the New York-based Vera Institute of Justice, a nonprofit. “Even people with legal status, whose families may have mixed immigration status, now have a fear of opening the door.”

That fear has been exacerbated by accounts some rumored, some real of people being turned over to immigration officials after being stopped for minor offenses such as traffic violations and loitering, or after going to police to report a crime.

In Newark, N.J., a freelance photographer who stumbled upon on a dead body in an alley and reported the discovery to police was detained and asked about his immigration status.

In Falls Church, Va., staffers at the Tarirhu Justice Center, which works with immigrant victims of domestic abuse, say they are fielding calls from women who have been assaulted, yet refuse to go to police.

“When there’s confusion about what policy applies to you and when it does, the safe course of action is to avoid authorities altogether,” said Jeanne Smoot, the center’s director of public policy.

In Durham, N.C., police recently investigated a string of robberies targeting Latino immigrants, who the thieves saw as “soft targets” because they’d be reluctant to call police.

Only after officials reassured local residents that they would not be reported to ICE did they get the information needed to solve the cases, said Durham Police Chief Jose Lopez.

I guess I’m thinking this is one reason we have immigration laws in the first place — to prevent these scenarios. Illegals being victimized by other illegals who realize the chances of their victims reporting the crimes are slim.

Crossing the border illegally is a crime. So, all these illegals are criminals and really have no respect for any other laws in our nation. Why should they? It is not their nation nor the blood of their families that has been shed for the freedoms we enjoy.

The people who claim that the United States cannot survive without illegal aliens to do the work that Americans won’t do are no different that the people who didn’t think our nation could survive without slavery. How did that work out?

Flier Blasts TSA Over Piercings Removal

I think it is fairly common to get selected for special screening by TSA when we fly. However, I’m having a difficult time mustering any sympathy for the whiny lady flying from Lubbock to Dallas who was forced to remove her sensitive nipple rings. Am I being biased and judgmental? Probably, but who cares?

How bad could it be when:

Hamlin was publicly humiliated and has “undergone an enormous amount of physical pain to have the nipple rings reinserted” because of scar tissue, Allred said.

Call me crazy, but I don’t think it was medically necessary to reinsert the little metal bars?!

Was TSA wrong? Again, who cares? Freaky people with rings in their nipples slowing down security at the airport are a pet peeve of mine. Sheesh people! Get a clue!
