Rice: Democratic forces emerging in Palestinian territories

Exactly what kind of democracy would that be Secretary Rice?

Rice said Iran had suffered “setbacks” and Al-Qaeda was “on its heels,” while democracy had made a “breakthrough” with women voting in Kuwait, “democratic forces” emerging in the Palestinian territories and “a democracy at the center of the Arab world in Iraq.”

“We’re now beginning to see that perhaps it’s not so popular to be a suicide bomber. We’re beginning to see that perhaps people are questioning whether Osama bin Laden ought to really be the face of Islam,” she said.

Perhaps it’s becoming more popular to kidnap citizens in attempt to extort negotiations from actual civilized nations?

Hamas on Friday announced that it was suspending all negotiations with Israel over the release of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit. The deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau, Mussa Abu Marzuk, said that the talks were being frozen because Israel was not displaying commitment to the truce agreement with his organization in Gaza.

Captured? Let’s just call it what it is; kidnapped. Believe it or not, there is a difference.

Abu Marzuk told the London-based daily Al Hayat that Hamas would not send a delegation to the talks slated to take place in Cairo. He claimed that Israel was not living up to its obligations under the cease-fire and was closing the passages to the Strip.

“It does not make any sense that we should open negotiations while Israel does not honor the truce,” Abu Marzuk said. “The issue will be postponed until the Egyptians invest the efforts together with the Israelis - in order to honor the truce agreement - open the crossings and prevent Muhammad Dahlan and Fatah from sabotaging the truce deal.”

Abu Marzuk did not specify what Israeli truce violations he was referring to.

Hmmm… Israel’s latest negotiations with that other terrorist organization wouldn’t be playing a role in this, would it?

Another senior activist in the organization was quoted by the paper as saying that “After the prisoner swap deal between Israel and Lebanon, according to which Lebanese prisoner Samir Kuntar is slated to go free, Israel is expected to display greater flexibility in talks over a prisoner swap with Hamas.”

So, I’ll reiterate: Exactly what kind of democratic force is emerging? I’ll tell you, it’s not any sort of civilized democracy. Some people are just not eligible to participate in democracy, because they believe targeting innocent civilians is just, along with kidnapping and extortion.

Israel should let every Palestinian starve to death until they release Gilad.

More Stupidity from the AP

Saw this at the Jerusalem Post. IDF soldiers shoot and kill a palestinian youth who was unarmed? Apparently Molotov cocktails are not considered weapons? Possibly he was unarmed because he had thrown his weapon at the IDF soldiers? Insanely distorted:

IDF troops shot and killed a Palestinian youth during a night patrol in a West Bank village, according to Palestinian reports Sunday.

The IDF said a Palestinian attacked soldiers with two Molotov cocktails in the village of Tubas and the soldiers subsequently shot him.

Ayman Abdel Razek, a resident of the village, said troops shot the 17-year-old after midnight Sunday. He said village youths often throw stones at army patrols at around that time but that the youth was unarmed.

The Palestinian Red Crescent emergency service said the soldiers tried to resuscitate the youth but failed, and then turned his body over to Palestinian authorities.

It was the second such incident in two days in the West Bank. On Friday night soldiers shot and killed another Palestinian 17-year-old who Israeli and Palestinian officials said was throwing Molotov cocktails at a West Bank patrol.

The West Bank is not included in the rocky cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, which has been under way since June 19.

If it were me, and I didn’t want my kid getting shot and killed by IDF soldiers, I’d make him keep his ass at home and stop throwing Molotov cocktails at the IDF. That’s just me though. I have yet to find any common sense or human characteristics within the palestinian slime.

Weekly Roundup on Sunday

I never done a weekly roundup before, but OneNewsNow is just full of good stories for the week.

Happy Birthday Israel! Turning 60?! Awesome. No nation has ever fit the bill as a miracle nation like the Israel does. Even more exciting — God told us in His Word that they would be a nation again. I’m getting ready to head to church or I’d leave references. Feel free to leave them in the comment section (Neil). :) Anyway, as frustrating as politics are right now, we are living in EXCITING times and Bible prophecy is being fulfilled each and every day.

Israeli activist, Gary Bauer, is urging the U.S. State Department to make sure former President Carter doesn’t run a muck the world meeting with and endorsing terrorists organizations:

Bauer, president of the conservative group American Values, says it is dangerous for Carter to grant legitimacy to the terrorist group. “This trip is an absolute disaster. It’s counter to the national security interest of the United States, and I want to call on the State Department to seriously consider revoking former President Carter’s visa so that this sort of trip cannot be done again. It is damaging to the interests of the United States,” Bauer contends.

I agree, but a reality check tells me this nut of an ex-President will continue in his asinine ways until he finally gets the chance to answer to God for his bone head foreign policy ideas. Ouch! I would not want to be Jimmuh on that day.

Guess what? National Right to Life is endorsing McCain! Really, what choice do they have?

National Right to Life has endorsed presumptive Republican nominee Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) for president. While McCain has not been considered the ideal candidate by most of the pro-life community, many consider him a much better choice than either Senator Hillary Clinton (D-New York) or Senator Barak Obama (D-Illinois).

And last but least, Californians had better start spanking their children while it’s still legal. I’m not saying that all children need spanked, but like it not, most do! I can pretty much guarantee you that our child would not be headed down the path of success if proper discipline had not been part of her upbringing.

The legislation is a resurrected version of Democrat Sally Lieber’s bill from last year, minus the outright spanking ban. The bill prohibits using “implements” such as wooden spoons, paddles, rolled-up newspapers, switches, belts, or brushes — essentially, allowing only the hand.

Randy Thomasson of Campaign for Children and Families warns that if the bill is approved, the penalty for their use is severe. “You’re going to be arrested, handcuffed, taken to the police station, [and be] charged,” he details. Thomasson says that once a parent is charged, then a jury will determine if it was reasonable for that parent to administer a spanking.

Not to start a parenting lesson here, but I truly believe spanking your child with your hand is wrong. Not to mention, very ineffective.

Well, I have to run to church. My apologies in advance if this post is full of typos — that’s what we get when we type with one hand and get in a hurry! :)

Shooting at Jerusalem Seminary kills 10; wounds 35

seminaryattack.jpgWhat a tragedy. Honestly, it makes me ill to think about this senseless murderous behavior. Our thoughts and prayers sincerely go out to the victims of this massacre.

At the time of the AP article, no one had claimed responsibility for this heinous act. However, always true to form:

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip praised the operation, and thousands of Palestinians took to the streets of Gaza to celebrate.

What pigs.

Hamas stopped just short of claiming responsibility for the Jerusalem shootings. “We bless the operation. It will not be the last,” Hamas said in a statement sent to reporters by text message.

Oh, and this little gem:

At his West Bankheadquarters, Abbas condemned the attack. “The president condemned all attacks that target civilians, whether they are Palestinian or Israeli,” a statement said.

Excuse me, but Israelis never target innocent civilians, that is the way of the terrorist, not the way of civilized nations such as the US and Israel. But, as far as I’m concerned, all those asshats dancing in the street celebrating this attack, lose their status as innocent civilians.

Thank God more were not killed thanks to heroes like this:

One of the students, Yitzhak Dadon, said he shot the attacker twice in the head. “I laid on the roof of the study hall, cocked my gun and waited for him. He came out of the library spraying automatic fire,” he said.

Update:

JERUSALEM —  Hamas Islamists have claimed responsibility for a Jerusalem shooting attack at a Jewish religious school that killed eight people, Reuters reports.

Classless, gutless pigs. Well, if only they had the class of pigs.

barbarianpigs.jpg

Take a good look at the smirks on their faces. These animals desire peace? Hardly. They are nothing but blood thirsty savages and need to be completely annihilated.

How would you feel if someone you loved had just been murdered, and then, adding insult to injury, these barbarians celebrate? I simply cannot imagine being so inhumane.

Teddy Bear Time

teddybear.jpg

Many friends have been blogging about the British school teacher who let her students name a teddy bear muhammad.

Queen of Swords minces no words whatsoever: Here and here. Who can’t love this?:

I’m tempted to name my ass Mohammed and invite these filthy savages to kiss it.

and:

The author of this article worries that the reputation of Islam is at stake. Buddy, I think that ship has sailed: the reputation of Islam is pretty much shit, and no group ever deserved it more.

Velvethammer is also passionate about the cause. Not to mention, she seems to know the cause of the insanity:

Perhaps it could be partially linked to the long history of inbreeding…

But, where do the feminists stand on the issue? Well, over at Newsbusters, it appears that the scum sucking sluts over at The View blame the school teacher — for not respecting the culture. Yeah, that makes sense your freaking idiot morons:

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Now in the Sudan, there’s a British teacher who is possibly going to be stoned or lashed.

JOY BEHAR: A woman.

GOLDBERG: A woman, yeah. Because, in her class they had some teddy bears and she, one of the kids wanted to name his kid- his teddy bear Muhammad and she said “fine.” Apparently, other children complained to their parents, which is how it ended up in the hands of the religious leaders, and the religious leaders are very very upset. Now, do you think that they’re-

GLORIA ESTEFAN: They arrested her.

GOLDBERG: Yeah, they arrested her. It is a huge thing.

BEHAR: There are a lot of Muhammads, though, in that part of the world.

GOLDBERG: Yes, but they’re people, and not animals.

BEHAR: Right, but this isn’t even an animal. This is a stuffed toy.

GOLDBERG: Yes, it’s a stuffed toy.

SHERRI SHEPHERD: I think it’s like it’s sacrilegious to name a stuffed toy Muhammad. But you know, you would think that with her being in Sudan, she would know the rules and customs. Because I know I performed stand up in Turkey, and they gave me a big thick packet on the customs, and what you could and could not do, and how you would offend people. So I’m surprised that she didn’t know it might be offensive.

GOLDBERG: Yeah, because you’d think if you’re going overseas, I mean, we had this discussion yesterday about people coming to America and learning the customs and knowing what is cool, and what isn’t cool. But I find that maybe we are not- and I say we just as European and American, we’re not as anxious to learn the customs before we go places. It’s just one of the reasons we’re called the ugly Americans.

Why is it that no one is thinking of the poor Teddy Bear having to live with the name of a false prophet and real pedophile?

Law firm will consider legal action against Rep. John Murtha

From OneNewsNow.com. I don’t know about you, but I believe the Thomas More Law Center is worth supporting any way we can.

A Christian law firm hopes that once its client is cleared of charges in connection with the so-called Haditha massacre, it will consider legal action against one of the men responsible for the accusations: Pennsylvania Congressman John Murtha.

The Michigan-based Thomas More Law Center is representing Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani (USMC), who has been charged with not fully investigating the events at Haditha, Iraq, and failing to report a Law of War violation, in the aftermath of the November 19, 2005, incident that led to the death of 24 Iraqi civilians. Spokespersons for the legal group hope the convening officer in the investigation will throw out the charges as he already has for two of the six other men charged in the case. Chessani is the highest ranking officer charged in the case.

Congressman Murtha, a prominent war critic, last year accused U.S. Marines of shooting and killing unarmedrepresentative_john_murtha_d-pa.jpg civilians near the scene of an attack on a military convoy, then going into two homes and shooting others. According to Brian Rooney with the Law Center, Staff Sergeant Frank Wuterich — one of the other defendants in the investigation — is already suing Murtha for those comments. Rooney argues the Pennsylvania Democrat should be held accountable for taking the word of Iraqi insurgents and calling the Marines “cold-blooded murderers.”

“Staff Sergeant Wuterich’s attorneys are suing Congressman Murtha for liable for saying that the Marines were cold-blooded murderers, so that suit’s still ongoing,” the attorney explains, adding that the Law Center….

High Court Denies Prisoner’s Efforts to Stay at Guantanamo

I was hoping I’d stumble upon the update for this. It just goes to prove that it pays to read Lucianne.

Too bad soooooo freaking sad from CNN.com :

WASHINGTON (CNN) — The Supreme Court refused to block the pending transfer of an accused terrorist held by the U.S. military, despite his fears of being tortured if he is sent back to his home country of Algeria.

Ahmed Belbacha has been incarcerated at the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for five years. He has tried to keep himself detained because he said he fears being tortured by the Algerian government if he goes home.

The justices, in a one-sentence order, denied his emergency request for a stay to any pending release.

Six other Algerians also face release from the Guantanamo prison. The U.S. military has been under pressure to speed the process of evaluating the approximately 360 detainees and freeing those who are not considered dangerous.

The Pentagon has said about 80 Guantanamo men are eligible for freedom and has been negotiating with their home countries to accept them. Pentagon and State Department officials have said they would not repatriate any prisoner to countries where they would “likely” be tortured.

There was no immediate reaction from Belbacha’s attorney, Zachary Katznelson. His lawyer said last week that despite the conditions of the prison, his client would prefer to stay if that were his only option.

“He said to me, ‘My cell is like a grave.’ He lives in an all-steel cell. It’s about 6 feet by 10 feet; say, the size of someone’s bathroom,” Katznelson said.

Belbacha said he is not an international terrorist. He said he was an accountant for the Algerian government and said Islamic radicals threatened his life in 1999. He said he fled to Britain to escape the radicals and worked as a waiter.

He later traveled to Pakistan to attend a religious school, he said, and was turned over to U.S. forces in 2002 by men seeking bounty money for alleged terrorists.

Belbacha is afraid the stigma of being a U.S. military prisoner would make him a victim of Algerian government interrogation and abuse, his lawyer said.

“Now that he’s been in Guantanamo, the Algerian government may come after him,” Katznelson said.

The Algerian Embassy in Washington and the State Department refused earlier requests to discuss the appeal and Belbacha’s claims.

A 2006 State Department report on human rights noted Algerian security forces have been accused of torturing suspects.

The ruling from the high court means the military may proceed with its repatriation efforts, but there is no word when a transfer would take place. Belbacha also has a pending appeal before a federal appeals court in Washington.

The Supreme Court case is Belbacha v. Bush (07A98).

Well, with any luck, he’ll find out what an actual grave is like. Despite the conditions of the prison, his client would prefer to stay there if it’s the only option. Well, I guess his client no longer has to stay in prison and is the lucky winner of a one way ticket back home.

Gitmo Inmate Pleads for U.S. to Keep Him in Custody

See? Club Gitmo isn’t that bad. The irony is almost too good here. Almost being the key word. :)

From FoxNews.com:

An inmate of Guantanamo Bay who spends 22 hours each day in an isolation cell is fighting for the right to stay in the notorious internment camp.

Ahmed Belbacha fears that he will be tortured or killed if the United States goes ahead with plans to return him to his native Algeria.

The London Times reported that Belbacha, who lived in Britain for three years, has filed an emergency motion at the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C., asking for his transfer out of Guantanamo to be halted. He was cleared for release from Camp Delta in February and his lawyers believe that his return to Algerian custody is imminent.

Read the original report in the London Times.

Belbacha says that if he returns to Algeria, he faces the threat of torture by security services and murder by Islamist terrorists.

L O freaking L! According to the leftards in this country, the good ol’ USA is the only country that tortures and kills people. What the heck? I think the libtards, starting with mother sheehan, need to ’splain the facts to old Ahmed, don’t you?

Let’s see what Ahmed’s human rights scumbag lawyer thinks:

Zachary Katznelson, senior counsel with the human rights lawyers Reprieve and Belbacha’s lawyer, has asked the US courts to block any transfer.

“Ahmed is being held in camp six, the harshest part of Guantanamo,” he said. “His cell is all steel, there are no windows, he is not allowed to communicate with other prisoners and he gets just two hours exercise each day in a metal cage.

“He says his cell in Guantanamo is like a grave and that, although it sounds crazy, he would rather stay in those conditions than go back to Algeria. The fact is that he is really, really scared about what might happen to him in Algeria.”

Well too freaking bad Ahmed! We really need to close the grave and send you on your merry way. That’s just too much crap from the loser lawyer; trying to bash the United States military out of one side of his mouth, while basically having to admit, that we are so much more civilized that the animals kept at Club Gitmo. Makes me chuckle. Freaking good for nothing hypocrites. Sorry, this is just one of those posts that makes me say freaking too much.

Belbacha’s appeal to stay was rejected by a district court last week after the judge ruled that she had no jurisdiction in the case, despite believing the strength of his claims. His lawyers are prepared to go to the Supreme Court to prevent his transfer.

Our court system was not established to protect foreign terrorists. So, go home Ahmed. The mean ol’ USA is finished with you.
