Political Party Guessing Game Spoilers

Reuters that is. Doh! Do they have to give it away in the first word of the first sentence?! Only when it’s a Republican:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican U.S. Rep. Richard Renzi of Arizona, a state co-chair for Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign, was indicted on corruption charges stemming from land deals in his state, Justice Department officials said on Friday.

What party poopers. Oh well, at least we can still be challenged by some stories.

Show me baseball in the Constitution

mitchellgeorge.jpg

Seriously, I do not claim to be an expert on the document. However, it is a fairly short and simple document, compared to what many are led to believe. Regardless, here we have Congress beginning another delve into baseball. Am I crazy when I think this group of blow hards (Congressmen, not baseball players) should actually be doing other things?

I’m simply disgusted by their lack of understanding of what they are elected for.

Who is Duncan Hunter?

Glad you asked:

Question & Answer: U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif

From the Reno Gazette Journal:

Question: You have been doing well in several states’ straw polls, but not registering highly in the nationalcroppedtammihunter.JPG polls. What is the disconnect?

Answer: In Texas, there were 1,300 delegates, who had either been to the national convention or the state convention, and I beat the nearest guy, Fred Thompson, by better than 2-to-1. Now the Iowa straw poll, where you had to pay

$35 a vote, I announced early continue reading ….

I’m hoping to get Duncan back to Wyoming before our county conventions are held on January 5th. The precinct people loved him when they met him back in September and I know they’d love to see him again before January.

Comment of the Week!

Yay!! It’s finally Friday!!! I hope all the people who are at the Conservative Leadership Conference are having a blast. In the mean time, it’s work, work, work, around here. Oh well!

This week, comment of the week goes out to someone we don’t know personally (at least not in our friendly little blogging circle), yet they said what I wanted to hear regarding my 1st Hand Reporting on the Presidential Forum in Wyoming.

The winner is Chris, and he or she is a precinct committee person here in Wyoming:

I am a Wyoming precinct person and I can’t wait to vote for Duncan Hunter at our countyhappy-face_happyface_smiley_2400×2400.jpg convention.

Aww … that does my heart good. Seriously folks, this man can win the election if the Republicans come together and give him the nod. I’m getting tired of hearing Christians talk about there being no good candidate to vote for. Hello!?

Remember how to play:

Presidential Politicking

You can read the entire article, but I just want to quote the most important part of it:

The three candidates were never on the stage at the same time. Instead, each hopeful had his own time in front of the crowd.

Hunter, first elected to Congress in 1980, spoke first and drew a standing ovation for advocating support of gun rights.

“The ability of an American to have a gun and to use it effectively to protect his family, his country and his community is an important part of national security, and I will protect the Second Amendment,” he said.

In response to a question about global warming, Hunter said it was “almost impossible” to determine whether climate change is a natural or man-made phenomenon. He advocated for the use of traditional energy resources, including oil shale in Wyoming and Colorado, as well as alternative fuels and wind energy.

Brownback spoke next and advocated for a strong family structure in America as a way to improve education and reduce crime.

HUNTER LOOKING FORWARD TO WYOMING

September 27, 2007 San Diego, CA… Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) is anticipating bringing his campaign to Wyoming this weekend to participate in the GOP Presidential Forum’s “Charging to Victory 2008″ state event. The forum is an opportunity for Hunter to share with Wyoming delegates the priorities of his candidacy and his goals as the presidential race continues.

“This is going to be a great time to meet with Wyoming party members to hear from them what is on their minds and, at the same time, share my views on our nation and what I intend to achieve as President,” said Hunter. “I believe my message of building the military, enforcing our nation’s border, cutting taxes and promoting fair trade deals that do not send American jobs to China will be well received by the people of Wyoming.”

The Wyoming Republican Party is hosting two presidential forums on Saturday, September 29th. The first will be held in Casper at Casper College Thunderbird gym at 10:00 a.m., followed by a second event at Central Wyoming College in Riverton at 5:00 p.m. At both events, Congressman Hunter will be provided an opportunity to address the audience and then engage in a question-and-answer session from Republican precinct committee men and women.

Congressman Hunter will be available for interviews throughout the day and the media are encouraged to contact Roy Tyler at (928) 941-1079 to schedule interviews.

Heading to the GOP Presidential Forum

Here’s the scoop from Casper.

I have to admit, it was my understanding that the candidates who refused to show up for WY were not welcome to send any representatives. It looks as though there is no teeth to the rule, which I think is crappy:

Although he’s not attending today’s forum, the supporters of Texas Rep. Ron Paul arrived earlier and got prime real estate for their table in the lobby. Across from them, is a table for Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who won’t be attending the forum either.

I’m not all that disappointed, because I believe it will be Representative Hunter’s opportunity to shine through for Wyoming. I’m very hopeful that he will win this state!

No live blogging will be coming from me. First of all, I’m a slow typer, and second of all, I’m traveling with a friend and not sure what I’ll have time for. I’ll do my best to get some pictures. Take care and enjoy your weekend!

US Representative Cubin breaks foot at Wyoming Medical Center

cubin.jpgThe actual Casper Star Tribune headline reads: Cubin injures foot at WMC. Apparently the CST doesn’t care that Representative Cubin actually broke her foot in three places. They seem quite content with minimizing the injury in attempt to make Mrs. Cubin look silly. It’s just their sleazy style.

U.S. Rep. Barbara Cubin broke her foot while visiting her husband at the Wyoming Medical Center on Saturday, and the Wyoming Republican ended up in a hospital bed herself.

“My husband and I certainly try to do everything together, but being hospitalized together was not too high on my to-do list,” Cubin said in a release.

Doctors have not decided whether to perform surgery on Cubin’s left foot, which was broken in three places when she fell.

Dr. Frederick “Fritz” Cubin has been in and out of the hospital over the last six months after being diagnosed with thrombocytopenia, which causes sufferers to have a deficient number of circulating blood platelets. He was most recently admitted to the Casper hospital Wednesday.

Let’s have a look at some sleazy comments on the story: Continue reading ‘US Representative Cubin breaks foot at Wyoming Medical Center’
