Obama taps spending watchdog, eyes Social Security By JENNIFER LOVEN – 1 hour ago

“WASHINGTON (AP) — Pointing with concern to “red ink as far as the eye can see,” President-elect Barack Obama pledged Wednesday to tackle out-of-control Social Security and Medicare spending and named a special watchdog to clamp down on other federal programs”.
Wow? Who knew? Red ink? Republicans have yelled this for a decade to no avail.

This should be quite a trick…THE Party that put our Social Security into the general (vote-buying) fund and taxed it (Klinton did that)…then led the charge to spend it, fought any reform, demonized any proposed option, even for a fraction of workers’ deduction, stood by while illegal aliens got SS…is now going to “study” Social Security? Its laughable.

Look for a gigantic (sad face goes here) conference or report that says the (only) way out (no political history mentioned) is…..drum roll…a huge tax hike!

Okay, maybe not…there is a 5% chance for real reform…at most.
