The rise of secular socialism (modern liberalism) has produced all the grief we complain about these days.
Without term limits for the vote-buying congress and the return of shame/respect by the young (loss due to liberal (weak) parenting plus liberal educators-cultural impacts)…what have we left?
IF you are not for a smaller federal gov-ment, lower taxes and traditional family morality… you are the enemy of freedom. Excuses for not contacting congress and not speaking up make you an enabler.
We are reaping 40 years of secular socialism…behold it.
I fax my congress and I have a conservative Blog plus have had a dozen letters to papers published.
What can you do? What will you do?
Can the nation depend on you to do some small thing monthly to slow the tide? Probably NOT.
Hence, a clueless, strident secular socialist may lead us.
You ain’t seen any socialism, taxes and crazy expensive non-solutions yet! This guy wrote the book as the #1 liberal in the Senate. Enjoy.

Jindal vetoes proposed horse racing/slot machine facility in Iberville Parish Posted: July 2, 2008
IBERVILLE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has vetoed a bill that would have allowed for a vote of the people regarding gaming in Iberville Parish.
House Bill 937 would require a referendum election to permit a live horse racing facility and slot machine gaming at a facility in Iberville Parish.
In issuing his veto, Jindal said he was opposed to the legislation “because it contemplates the expansion of gaming.”
The measure was introduced by State Representative Karen St. Germain, a DEMOCRAT from Plaquemine.
CRAWFISH NOTE: Enough is enough. We have more than enough gambling (not gaming) houses in our state. Its not a top tier industry by any means and lends itself to many unsavory things. How about the Democrats use their energy to get real industries with real good jobs? There would be a gambling (not gaming) house in every parish if the democrats thought there were any votes or dirty money in it for them.
Thanks Bobby.
Don’t lose your veto pen.

As Thomas Jefferson observed, “Were we directed from Washington when to sow, and when to reap, we should soon want bread.” Yet the prevailing philosophy of government proposes exactly this—that directions from Washington as to how we must conduct ourselves, in matters large and small, will lead inexorably to scarcity and will inevitably erode our freedom.

Our system of government today is not so different from the monarchy we escaped, except that a swarm of bureaucrats have taken up the throne.

A necessity thus presents itself to us as well: We must reconnect with the timeless principles that inspired our Founding Fathers; those same principles that long ago gave birth to a good, great and God-blessed nation.
————
* kudos to thepatriotpost….
or two…
And so we have become again a dependent nation. We borrow from Europe and Japan to defend the oil of Europe and Japan in the Persian Gulf. We borrow from China to buy the goods of China. We are as dependent on foreign borrowing as we are on foreign oil.

And the questions arise: If the men of ‘76, who led those small and vulnerable states, were willing to sacrifice their lives, fortunes and sacred honor for America’s independence, what is the matter with us?
* kudos to Pat Buchanan….

Local and national outbreak of grave robbing By Nicholas J.C. Pistor
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 06/30/2008
Grave robbing has become an above-ground affair.
Gone are the days when enterprising thieves would dig up an old grave and pillage for gold teeth and rings. Today, it’s mostly the bronze markers and flower vases that draw their attention.
Rising scrap metal prices, coupled with the lagging economy, have triggered a string of cemetery thefts both locally and across the nation.
CRAWFISH NOTE: In the liberal (secular socialist) world poverty causes crime. Even tough times cause crime. People do not cause crime by their personal decisions. Despite the fact Mississippi is the poorest state and has a very low crime rate (for one example)… the myth is so useful for growing the gov-ment, for creating dependency, for redistributing income and for vote-buying which the democrats do so well that it rises like dracula weekly.
Morals? Parental values? Church influence? These are of no use to the modern liberal because morals or anything limiting behavior is repugnant to them. They make their own religion (liberalism) and create their own ultra-flexible pseudo-morality. Daily we see these articles “covering-excusing” all sorts of immoral acts (often even criminal), blameshifting, ignoring the personal responsibility factor and putting guilt on others (to get their $$$ of course which buys votes). We behold the vile insidious libmedia repeating the mantras of modern liberalism like stepford journalists. It is the ultimate fatal cultural virus… secular socialism.
