Robert Spencer of Jihad watch is all over this story as well. Apparently there was a a prayer (of sorts) given by a Muslim Iman Husham Al-Husainy, Iman of the Karbalaa Islamic Education Center, a Shi’ite mosque in Dearborn, Michigan. It is one thing for the Iman to have been present (why was he?) and quite another considering the words he spoke. Religion and State, or the future state religion?

Here’s a transcript:

In the name of God the most merciful, the most compasionate. We thank you, God, to bless us among your creations. We thank you, God, to make us as a great nation. We thank you God, to send us your messages through our father Abraham and Moses and Jesus and Mohammed. Through you, God, we unite. So guide us to the right path. The path of the people you bless, not the path of the people you doom. Help us God to liberate and fill this earth with justice and peace and love and equality. And help us to stop the war and violence, and oppression and occupation. Ameen.

2007 Democratic Winter Meeting

The Democratic National Committee will hold its annual winter meeting to highlight “Strong Leadership for America’s Future” in Washington, DC from February 1-3, 2007. The meeting will feature presentations from the Democratic Presidential contenders on their visions and ideas <—Does that include muslim prayer, I wonder for America’s future.

Why do the dems feel the need to point this fact out? Faith in Action Largest North American Islamic Group Elects A Woman Goody for her, a forward step for Muslim women, but I won’t get my skirt in a ruffle untill they point out gains by women in other than Muslim religions.

Georgia Mayor Converts To Islam, The mayor of Macon, Georgia says “it’s no big deal.” He’s converted to Islam and is working to change his name to Hakim Mansour Ellis.

WHITE HOUSE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM SEEKS APPLICANTS

The White House Internship Program offers an excellent opportunity to serve our President and explore public service. We are seeking exceptional candidates to apply for this highly competitive program. In addition to typical office duties, interns attend weekly lectures, tours, and complete an intern service project.

Interns may serve a term in the Fall, Spring or Summer. Every candidate must be a United States citizen, enrolled in a college or university, and at least 18 years of age.
