Blog Worth For Those Across The Pond

By now most of you have heard of How Much Is Your Blog Worth?

Inspired by Tristan Louis’s research into the value of each link to Weblogs Inc, I’ve created this little applet using Technorati’s API which computes and displays your blog’s worth using the same link to dollar ratio as the AOL-Weblogs Inc deal.

I have the Blog worth graphic on my sidebar as do many. Does it mean much at all? It doesn’t matter to me. I just get a kick out of it. lol

This morning while browsing around, I happened across one specifically for British Blogs. As I noticed that A Conservative’s blog had one on the sidebar.

What’s your British Blog worth?

Caveat Blogger
If your blog is not registered with Technorati (free sign up here), then you will get a zero valuation.

The only problem with the system was that the valuation was in US Dollars, and I’m a Sterling kind of guy: so here, for British bloggers and ex-pat’s everywhere is a version gives the valuation in Sterling.

So now all you fine British Bloggers, can have a go at your blog worth, without having your value noted in US Dollars.

Go ahead and give it a whirl. lol It is not that big of a deal. I try to not let them get smooshed together. So in my very novice HTML way, I use [p] & [/p] (substituting HTML brackets of course) in between. At the beginning and the end of each seperate code. It seems to work.

This theme I am using now ‘Cutline’ is more user friendly. The last one I had would allow links from one widget to another bleed through. Sometimes it would even happen in the same widget.

Hi v,

Well, your blog is worth more than our blog, by a factor of about a hundred. A calculation I tend to agree with.

I thought about putting multiple items in one text widget, but hadn’t worked the courage to try it. I haven’t had time yet to experiment with the blogroll category stuff. However, that is on my list, my very long list. Thank you dear lady. You have saved me much anxiety and time.

LOL I can’t wait to see it.

No I use 9 text widgets. I just shove some together, in a single text widget. The spots where there are links, I have created blogroll categories for them.

A question if you don’t mind. How are you getting so many items on your sidebar? I’m assuming, probably incorrectly, that you’ve found a way around the 9 text widget limit.
