“If public schools become places where children learn that, fundamentally, they are not American, there will be no reason for taxpayers to continue supporting them. And there will be little to hold society together.” - Albert Shanker
Stop The Madrassa Community Newsletter: The Stop the Madrassa Coalition demands the resignation from the KGIA Advisory Council of Imam Talib Abdul-Rashid, Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood, Harlem. The Imam is unfit to serve in any capacity in a public school system, since he insists on teaching that Muslims came to America before other explorers and derides any other history as “European imperialistic notions of history rooted in White Supremacy,” as well as opposing celebrating Thanksgiving as “European colonial misguidance.”
Separatist views completely re-writing our history, have no place in an American public school. Who are they trying to kid here? Honestly I have had it. I am sick of Americans being taken for fools. The plans for this school should never have gone past square one.
“Being that we are a public school, we certainly are not going to be teaching religion,” said Almontaser, 39. “Islam does not have a culture. Islam is a religion.”
Then explain this please, if you can..
“Where is the support of standing behind this fabulous educator and shielding her from racist attacks that have no basis in truth whatsoever?”
Religion does not equal race! Neither does culture for that matter.
This bears an explanation as well…
KGIA Executive Summary (PDF) KGIA will also partner with Columbia University’s Teacher’s College Department of International and Transcultural Studies (ITS), the Tanenbaum Center for
Interreligious Understanding, Educators for Social Responsibility (ESR) and the
Brooklyn Museum. ITS will work with our teachers to develop their understanding
of strategies necessary to educate for bi/multilingualism, multiculturalism and cross-
cultural understanding, and the use of multiple literacies. In addition, ITS will
sponsor teacher professional development workshops in Arabic literature, the Arab
Diaspora, art and music, education, economy/oil, Islam, Israeli Culture , Middle East
history, political systems and reform, and women.
Pardon me but did not Almontaser state ” we certainly are not going to be teaching religion,”? And as I’m sure all who are not blinded, by the educational cult of diversity and multiculturalism will wonder as I, towards what slant the proposed workshops will lean. Hmm… It is not rocket science folks.
Back to Imam Talib Abdul-Rashid, Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood, Harlem
The Imam’s mosque, the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood, Harlem has a logo
that is a sword with the words “There is no deity but God and Muhammad is his prophet.” The Mosque’s slogan on the “About” page at their website is, verbatim, the Muslim Brotherhood slogan:
I hadn’t heard of the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood up until now. Upon closer inspection, I have came to the conclusion that the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood has no place in American society either. Further down I provide information linking the mosque to various islamic leaders whose views and statements are questionable at best.
This radical Imam’s participation in the design and governance of the KGIA is yet another proof that this school should be stopped before it opens. The Stop the Madrassa Community Coalition speaks for Americans across the country who oppose the use of taxpayer funds for what would amount to dangerous Islamist schools in New York City or their own neighborhoods. To ensure that does not happen in Brooklyn, the Coalition calls upon Mayor Bloomberg and New York City Department of Education Chancellor Joel Klein not to open the Khalil Gibran International Academy.

Dr. Faroque Khan, left, and Imam Al-Hajj Talib ‘Abdur-Rashid serve very different mosques, one on Long Island and one in Harlem.
Imam Talib, and Amir Muhammad Shareef, of the Jamaat of Shehu Uthman Dan Fodio in America. We are formally confederated with the Amir and his jamaat.
This is a very important quote from Shehu Uthman dan Fodio (Fuduye’) “Humility is divided into three divisions: [1] That which is obligatory (Wajib) - Like showing humility towards Allah, His Messenger, to the ruler of the Muslims, to the scholars and to ones parents; [2] That which is recommended (Mandub) - Like showing humility towards the slaves of Allah other than what was mentioned above; [3] That which is forbidden (HARAAM)- Like showing humility to the people of injustice and the people of unbelief (ahl ‘l –Kafirun). This is because showing humility towards them is a HUMILIATION in which there is NO honor and a LOWERING from which there is no rising up from.”

A moment for the Hearts
The American Tour of Sayyid Habib ‘Ali al-Jifri
By Mustafa Shaheed DavisHabib ‘Ali lectured to many crowds in several major American universities. During a lecture at San Diego State University, Habib ‘Ali dazzled his audience with a brilliant dissertation on the true meanings of Jihad in traditional Islam. “Jihad is something that the entire world needs, and it is something that Islam offers!” he exclaimed intrepidly after having explained the traditional Islamic position concerning the controversial term. If a madman rushed into a room carrying a loaded weapon threatening to kill all the members of the household, “Would you say it would be an evil or a heroic action if a police officer killed him before he could kill his victims?” A show of hands alluded to the fact that the audience agreed it would be heroic. Habib ‘Ali explained that this is what Jihad is. It is raising the sword to take the swords out of the hands of madmen. The audience of both Muslims and non-Muslims applauded in unison.

CAIR RALLY FOR NY PUBLIC SCHOOL MADRASSA @ Atlas Shrugs
Daniel Pipes has kept on top of things, by continually updating his article…
On New York’s “Khalil Gibran International Academy”
Excerpt from another piece of Pipes, “Does Learning Arabic Prevent Moral Decay?” This ought to knock your socks off, it did mine. Nothing like cold feet to go along with cold shudders.
Arabic is the language of the Qur’an. In order to convey the message of Qur’an in North America and Europe, we have to first deliver its language. Knowledge of Arabic can then help the Western countries recover from the present moral decay. Shootings of the likes in Columbine High School, and San Diego schools are the symptoms and the signs (Ayah) from Allah. High School students in North America deserve better than the metal detectors to protect them. The whole system of education needs a moral shake-up. The Arabic Language Institute Foundation (ALIF), a Los Angeles-based organization is committed to this goal.
Da’wah by stealth through Arabic language instruction?
Khalil Gibran Mosque Meeting Proves The School Will Be A Madrassah [incls. transcript]
on the evening of August 13 a community meeting was held at the Islamic Center of Bay Ridge, in Brooklyn by supporters of the besieged Arabic school.
The fact that this strategy session was held at a mosque rather than a secular location is only the most obvious red-flag regarding the event and it is a clear indication of the undeniable co-linking of Islam and KGIA.
It’s important to note that the Bay Ridge Islamic Center is not just any mosque; it has a long history serving as a hotbed of jihadist activity; a key indicator of the radical forces which will control the KGIA if it is allowed to open in September. Unfortunate Quotable Quotes:
The Department of Education “spit” in the face of Arabs with the appointment of a Jewish woman as principal of the city’s new Arabic-themed school, a Muslim activist said yesterday.
“It doesn’t make any sense,” Zein Rimawi said of the appointment of Danielle Salzberg.
“It’s like somebody spit in our face as Arabs,” said Rimawi, a founder of the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and an organizer with the Arab Muslim American Federation.
Hold the phone! I thought it was a ‘public school’? To educate in “bi/multilingualism, multiculturalism and cross- cultural understanding”. You’d think if Rimawi wishes for the school to succeed he would tone down the antisemitism, and not spit in the faces of Jews with his ignorance. Tsk..tsk…
Speaking to NY1 Friday, city Schools Chancellor Joel Klein also defended the school saying religion will be taught only as an academic subject.
“Sure, if you are in an Arabic school will you learn something about Islam, and the difference between Shias and Sunnis? Sure, but to say that’s a religious school is wrong,” said Klein.
What the hell ever

islam is NOT a religion. It’s a set of laws meant to oppress its followers into violently supporting the agenda of the few moolahs who want to rule the world

How right you are Marlene. If only more would realize that.
Funny how you choose this particular post to comment on. As it is fairly old. Not that I am not pleased you have.
I have some new info on KGIA Daniel Pipes has just recently updated his article.
