Wow. As I watch Columbia President Bollinger giving his open address to Ahmadinejad. As a prelude to Ahmadinejad taking the podium. I have to give him credit, he is posing hard line questions and expressing views that do not hold back. The crowd responds positively.
The Iranian troll has just stepped up on the stage.
Right off of the bat, Ahmadinejad counter attacks Bollinger. (Correction) For Ahmadinejad is insulted, at hearing Bollinger tear into him.
The crowd cheers that as well. I can see the crowd is split almost down the middle.
“More to come…I’ll be adding to this live.
“Windows of reality”??? OMG That is a good one.
Bla, bla, bla, bla, bla.
A religious sermon…. Da’wah at an Ivy League college.
Ahmadinejad’s holier than thou attitude is sickening considering his real world actions.
“Free from wrong ideologies and superstitions” WTH? lol
“The rights of all human beings be respected” What a load of BS coming out of his mouth.
Anyone have a shovel handy?
“They (the west I assume) even violate individual and social freedoms in their own nations”
“They tap telephone calls and try to control their people. They create an insecure and physiological atmosphere.”
Rehashed rhetoric, stolen from the left. Look in the mirror!
“Human values, moral values and the teachings of the divine prophet”
I am having trouble stomaching his drivel.
My he is such a righteous dude.
He still teaches university students???
“A wave of insults and allegations”=Truth.
“Freedom of speech?” Monkey man do you even know the definition of that?
Let’s ask the journalists that are being held in iranian prisons what they think.
Next Palestine for a minute, and then straight into his doubting the Holocaust. #@$^%
“The Holocaust is the root cause of many catastrophes.”
The Palestinians are innocent.
Freedom of thought??? Oh keep ‘em coming oh devious one.
Insults? I’ll give you insults “Mighty Mouse“.
“We are a peaceful loving nation. We love all nations” Mmmkay
Mostly crap and whining.
Waiting for the glow of his deity to once again envelope him from above. That would be a show stopper. lol
PRESIDENT MAHMOUD AHMADINEJAD (Translated): On the last day when I was speaking before the assembly, one of our group told me that when I started to say “In the name of God the almighty and merciful,” he saw a light around me, and I was placed inside this aura. I felt it myself.
I felt the atmosphere suddenly change, and for those 27 or 28 minutes, the leaders of the world did not blink. When I say they didn’t bat an eyelid, I’m not exaggerating because I was looking at them. And they were rapt.
It seemed as if a hand was holding them there and had opened their eyes to receive the message from the Islamic republic.
Why do you provide aid to terrorists?
He answers with a question. Of course…
Then goes into this spiel.
“The Iranian nation is a victim of terrorism.”
“Terrorists camps in Iraq are supported by the US gov. We are the first nation to fight terrorism. We need to examine the root causes of terrorists. We need to learn who funds terrorists.
We are a cultured nation. We do not need to resort to terrorism.”
Now he insults the room with his lies….
Ok that was fun while it lasted. I am not fast enough or qualified enough to proceed any further. Once the conference is over, I will be digging through various news reports. I shall then post some news and info.
While I wait I thought I would add this. H/T Lawryn
Who is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? @ American Thinker
To understand Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s mindset and behavior require close scrutiny of the elaborate and intricate theology of Hujetieh Shiism, perhaps the most fundamentalist of the numerous Shiite sects.
In the 1950s, a group of Islamic clergy led by Sheikh Mahmoud Halabi (a close associate of Ayatollah Khomeini) formed a society called the Anjoman-e Khayryyehye Hujjatiyyah-ye Mahdaviat (Charitable Society of the Mahdi), based in Mashhad, Iran. The Hujjatyyah membership was mostly composed by the bazaar-i businessmen and fanatical mullahs. Among many things, they were against the communists, Marxists, and atheists. Their overarching ” raison d’être,” however, was to prepare the world for the upcoming of the 12th Imam — the Mehdi. Continued.
Popping in for a sec..
Asked of treatment of women and hanging of gays.
First statement out of his mouth.
“Freedoms in Iran are genuine true freedoms.”
Likens the execution of gays to drug traffickers. It corrupts youth.
“Don’t you have capital punishment in US?” Yes but not as demanded by islamic law. Walking down the street with someone is not punishable by death.
Question was not about criminals and drug smugglers. It was about women and homosexuals.
Reply: “We do not have homosexuals in Iran. I do not know who told you that”
LMFAO! How homophobic is that? Hell he might even be gay for all we know. Muhahaha he probably is.
Update: Quoted text from the women and homosexual Q&A
Pressed by Dean Coatsworth on the original question about the rights of gay men and lesbians in Iran, Mr. Ahmadinejad said: “In Iran, we don’t have homosexuals like in your country. We don’t have that in our country.”
The audience booed and hissed loudly.
“In Iran, we do not have this phenomenon,” Mr. Ahmadinejad continued, undeterred. “I do not know who has told you that we have it. But as for women, maybe you think that maybe being a woman is a crime. It’s not a crime to be a woman. Women are the best creatures created by God. They represent the kindness, the beauty that God instills in them. Women are respected in Iran.”
Observation: I wish they would of chosen a male translator. On the surface the voice softens his words.
What happens when an evil Iranian president’s feet are held to the fire? Why he tap dances of course.
BTW I have added 4 new videos to my VodPod account this morning. They all relate to Ahmadinejad and or Iran. Ahmadinejad Blasted By Columbia President
Lee Bollinger Calls Hard-Line Iran Leader A “Petty And Cruel Dictator”
Ahmadinejad smiled as Columbia President Lee Bollinger took him to task over Iran’s human-rights record, foreign policy, and statements denying the Holocaust and calling for the disappearance of Israel.
“Mr. President, you exhibit all the signs of a petty and cruel dictator,” Bollinger said, to loud applause.
He did not address Bollinger’s accusations directly, instead launching into a long religious discursion laced with quotes with the Quran before turning to criticism of the Bush administration and past American governments, from warrantless wiretapping to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
“You are either brazenly provocative or astonishingly uneducated,” Bollinger told Ahmadinejad about the leader’s Holocaust denial. “Will you cease this outrage?”
Before leaving Iran, Ahmadinejad said the American people have been denied “correct information,” and his visit will give them a chance to hear a different voice, the official IRNA news agency reported.
Oh and the IRNA is a free flowing river of honesty?
Let’s take a peek inside the IRNA.
Ahmadinejad’s bouquets of flowers at Ground Zero enlighten public opinion
Tehran, Sept 24, IRNA
Member of Parliament (Majlis) Kazem Jalali said on Monday that President Ahmadinejad’s bouquets of flowers in Ground Zero, New York, would help enlighten public opinion of the American people.
Jalali told IRNA that President Ahmadinejad planned to lay wreath at the Ground Zero as sign of Iranian sympathy with families of terror victims.
The hegemony powers have always showed unreal image of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the world public opinion, he said, adding that although they have made their all-out efforts to this end, Iran attained good status in the international community.
Jalali, the rapporteur of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission in the Majlis also noted that they are afraid of Ahmadinejad’s speech for Americans and the world leaders.
MP: US president may face same destiny as Saddam’s
Tehran, Sept 24, IRNA
Member of Parliament (Majlis) Mostafa Mohammadi said on Monday that the US President George Bush and his country may face the fate of Saddam Hossein and Communism.
Mohammadi added that the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s remarks calling for trial of Bush were similar to the late Imam Khomeini’s message to former Russian president Gorbachev.
Condemning the US action in branding the Islamic Revolution’s Guards Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist group, he said that all nations know which countries support state terrorism.
The MP, who represents the Kurdish city of Paveh in the Majlis, added that Iran, thanks to his youth, has managed to acquire peaceful nuclear technology, and that the West should not try to adopt double standard policy on such a development.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mohammadi pointed to the efforts made by Iranian Kurds to defend the Iranian territory, noting that the enemies should take lessons from their defeats in confronting Iran.
The Iranian people are ready to sacrifice their lives for the country and the Islamic Republic.
