Would Ya Look At Those Mugs…

Apparently it does not take much talent to become an exhibited artist theses days. Case in point, a controversial new art exhibit at the New York Public Library includes art work (or so they say) featuring the Bush administration. All done up in cheesy mug shot style.

NEW YORK — Fake mug shots of President Bush, Vice President Cheney and other White House officials are on display at the main branch of the New York City Public Library, and the exhibit has caused quite a commotion.

About six manipulated photographs of members of the Bush administration made to look like mug shots are lining one of the landmark building’s hallways, with each current and former official holding a D.C. police date-of-arrest placard bearing the date they made “incriminating” statements about the war in Iraq, The New York Daily News reported.

“This exhibition has no political agenda,” the library said in a statement issued Thursday. “The work described in the media has been presented out of context and is not a complete or fair representation of the entire exhibition —

Mmmkay… [rolleyes]

Library exhibit features ‘mug shots’ of President Bush, White House officials

The exhibit, “Line Up,” is the work of artists Nora Ligorano and Marshall Reese. Each Bush administration member clutches a clapboard, as in a standard mug shot, with the date of his “arrest” - a day when each made “incriminating” statements regarding the Iraq war.

The installation includes audio clips of the administration members - complete with the sound of a flashbulb popping and a prison door slamming.

All political commentaries aside: Since when does access to Google Images, a half hour’s worth of experience in Adobe Photoshop, and the comedic wit of a 12 year old qualify someone as an “Artist” worthy of public display and exhibition?

Ok folks, get a move on and create some Photoshop fun of your own. My suggestion is to begin with Hillary & her faithful hubby Bill. You know you wanna.

Where are the ACTUAL mug shots of people like Ted Kennedy for manslaughter (Oh that’s right he BOUGHT his way out of that one!). Where are the actual mugs of the left’s favorite child Bill Clinton, or Barney Frank or any of the other leftist Democrat politicians. You believe this is non-political? I’ll bet you believe in the Easter Bunny and Santa too. What’s next - we going to let Michael Moore put a “non-partisan” piece on display in a public forum free of charge. If so don’t complain when Bill O’Reilly, Ann Coulter, and Rush Limbaugh demand fair treatment!

Zombie has a photo essay of an exhibit held on last 4th of July in San Fran here. Which is in the eye of the beholder. I’ll leave it at that. Psst…San Fran was the clue.

Dedicated to S.S. on today his Birthday.
Happy Happy Birthday!!! Love ya!
