Sharia Gets Foothold at Minneapolis Airport @ Moonbattery
Since America is a free and modern country, if you want to live in the Sixth Century, move back to the Middle East.
I concur.
Hold on to your hats though ladies and gentlemen. Lo and behold, they are receiving gratuitous accommodation’s beyond reason. Left and right.
Sweeping
dhimmitude begets creeping sharia.
Treating Islam more favorably than other religions is demanded by Muslims and accommodated whenever they attain a critical mass. It is a sure indicator of Dhimmitude.
One would think that a secular environment so inhospitable to the familiar Christian religion would hold little promise for devout Muslims who must pray five times a day in a certain ritualistic way. But, on the contrary, they are doing quite well.
Schools, hospitals and other organizations are bending over backwards in their attempts to meet the religious ceremonial needs of their Muslim constituents.
The University of Michigan and a dozen other universities are installing foot baths for their Muslim students. The Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport may create a prayer room for imams and other Muslims. The Kansas City International Airport installed foot baths for local cabbies and other Muslims. Hospitals in Chicago, Baltimore, Washington and Texas have built prayer rooms exclusively for Muslims.
Another airport…
Indianapolis International, caves in.
And by November 2008, when the new $1.07 billion airport terminal is scheduled to be complete, the restroom near the parking lot where taxi drivers stay between runs will include floor-level sinks that will make their daily ritual easier. But some critics say these foot baths are religious facilities in a public place — and a clear constitutional violation.
There will be some federal funding involved. So, um yeah it is a “clear constitutional violation”.
Robert Spencer founded the group Jihad Watch, which aims to raise awareness of what its founders perceive as a proliferation of Islamic law into mainstream society. Spencer compares installing a foot bath in a restroom to putting in a holy water font to accommodate Catholic cab drivers.
Nothing to add here. Spencer says it all.
Airport officials say they see it differently.
“These facilities are for everybody’s use,” said David Dawson, spokesman for the new terminal project.
Oh my God! Has the entire country converted to Islam? Am I the lone infidel? Surely David Dhimmi Dawson jests lies. How are non-muslims going to put a muslim footbath to good use? Hmm, maybe the OTM (other than muslim) cab drivers, whom have put in a long day on the road can use them to take a ‘whores bath’.
“It’s like you are in the jungle, like a primitive human,” said Aziz Nachid, 42.
He said it not me….
But he said the drivers deserve better conditions, which the foot baths will provide.
“This is long overdue,” Saahir said. “Indianapolis is coming of age. They need to have accommodations for all of their citizens.”
Don’t you mean all muslims? Foot baths are a religious specific accommodation. I bathe my feet (and the rest of my body) in the privacy of my own home, thank you very much!
I’ve just had a flash of brilliance. What a great
idea!
Perfecto! No need for expensive foot sinks. Wet wipes are the answer! If they are good enough for an American babies bottom, they are good enough for Muslim feet. They should buy their own, of course.
This is where the extra mile comes in. The city of Chicago has set up a prayer trailer ONLY for Muslim cabbies. Now they are parking illegally and receiving tickets. To lazy to walk to the trailer. Shameful. It gets better, they are crying like babies because they are being ticketed. See what I mean?
Muslim cabbies get tickets while praying
Drivers say police at O’Hare have fined 500 for blocking lanes
September 16, 2007
Faisal, a taxicab driver who works at O’Hare Airport, wants to be a good cabbie while staying true to his Muslim faith.
But Muslim cabdrivers are finding the latter difficult lately, as they’ve been hit with a rash of tickets for parking in access lanes leading to the airport terminals near where the city helped set up a prayer trailer for them.
Non separation of mosque and state alert!
“For most of us who need to pray, that’s part of our religious duty,” said Faisal, a 13-year-cab veteran who declined to give his last name.
Religious duty that interferes with the entire world around you is a religious duty gone amuck.
“It doesn’t do us any favors if you write us a ticket and you know this guy’s going to come back in five minutes and his friend is waiting outside to move the car in case of an emergency,” the cabbie complained.
Waaaaaaaaaa! You are to good for our laws? Oh and FYI Faisal, tickets are not meant as favors, or else every Tom, Dick and Harry would be competing to get them.
Drivers such as Faisal say they mean no harm by parking in the lanes leading to the prayer trailer on the grounds of O’Hare’s commercial lot — which either have no-parking signs posted or are meant for brief stops.
Oh I see, when you break the law and you plead “no harm”, all should be forgiven. The no harm defense. [roll eyes] Park and walk like everyone else does when they go to pray. You’re no better nor more special than non-muslims. Get over yourselves. Lazy asses.
The cabbies say they are caught in a Catch-22 — that the city provided them the location in which to practice their faith, but punishes them when they park and pray.
Gee whiz! Count you damn lucky stars! In all reality the city should not of given you a prayer room to begin with. I’ve seen muslims stop and pray on a sidewalk for God’s sake. The punishment stems from the breaking of the law, not because you are going to pray to allah the fools god. Stop twisting things around to make yourselves look discriminated against!
Drivers are particularly worried about receiving tickets as they celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, a time for steadfast prayer, fasting and spiritual reawakening.
Many American Muslims began celebrating Ramadan last week.
This steadfast prayer thing is beginning to look like a handicap.
The commercial access area is the staging ground for taxis and limo drivers who use various lanes to park their cars for shift changes or for a brief lunch stop. It is only open to commercial vehicles that pick up passengers at the airport and is maintained by the city’s Department of Aviation.
Wolfgang J. Weiss, one of the managing directors of the Chicago Professional Taxicab Drivers Association, said more than 500 cabs have been ticketed. Ultimately, drivers are responsible for paying the tickets — ranging from $50 to $80 — which can cut their daily profit in half, Weiss said.
“The financial impact, at least from a revenue standpoint, is huge,” he said. “We just want them to back off.“
Um excuse me Wolfy, there would be no “financial impact” if they would not of violated a law. Say what? “We want them to back off”????? No you didn’t! Tough Ma’amoul!
But Weiss admits that authorities probably won’t give them a break, so his association is going to petition Mayor Daley and others for relief.
Translated: If we do not get our (un-deserved way) we will cry to the mayor and c.a.i.r. etc. Which ever bleeding heart will listen. If we make a big enough stink about it, the infidels may bow down and grant our wishes. “Cause we are soooo special!
Aviation Department spokesman Greg Cunningham said authorities do not want to interrupt Muslims and their prayer habits. But he contends that cabbies must follow the rules at a facility that needs to be clear of traffic in order for operations to run smoothly and safely.
Are you listening Wolfgang? They need to follow the rules and fit into society as a whole. Not as a preferred group like they hope.
“It’s a temporary parking and holding area,” Cunningham said. “If a vehicle blocks off other vehicles from leaving the facility, it becomes a problem.”
Aww… now they have steadfast praying business to get to. They no worry themselves about causing problems. Give them a minute and they will cause a bigger problem than that one. The blocking off of vehicles problem will be but a distant memory.
Iqbal, another Muslim cabdriver, said the city is punishing honest people duty-bound to their faith. “It doesn’t happen every day,” he said. “We need to cover all our bases with God.”
No iqbal. The city EXPECTS you to OBEY the LAW! Or doesn’t islam the newest member of the cult of victimization comprehend that?
No Fare
My dad would tell us kids, when we whined. “You would cry if you had a loaf of bread in each hand”
Yep Dad. I get it now.

Update 1:
Muslim Cab Drivers lose Muslim Prayer Room Privileges @ Doctor Bulldog & Ronin
Sarah Dallof reporting, January 30th, 2008, ksl.com
A shuttle driver has filed a complaint with the FAA against the Salt Lake International Airport, saying officials allowed thousands of religious services to be conducted on public property.
Update 2:
New Canadian Taxi Policy Has Muslim Cabbies Barking Mad @ Doctor Bulldog & Ronin
Among the provisions listed in the taxi bill of rights announced on Wednesday by Transportation Minister Kevin Falcon are the right for passengers to travel with a guide dog and a new enhanced trip refusal regulation that could see drivers fined $288.
That combination could mean problems for some Muslim drivers who believe it’s against their religion to come into contact with dogs, said Aziz Khaki, the vice-chair of the Muslim Canadian Federations.
“It’s a clear, clear case of discrimination and insensitivity on behalf of the authorities to try to punish the person without understanding the person’s own belief,” Khaki told CBC News on Thursday.
When faced with this dilemma, Muslim drivers who believe their religion prohibits them from coming into contact with dogs should be able to call another taxi for the passenger without facing a fine, said Khaki.
Boo-freakin’-hoo! Give me a break! Do US all a favor. Point cabs towards mecca, do not look back CYA!
It against my beliefs to be driven with muslim heathens.

Do you think we would feel the same way if Islam was truly peaceful. If they weren’t bent on world domination and subjecting us to dhimmitude. If they weren’t beheading and forcing conversions. If they treated their women with respect and dignity. If our country treated Christians and Jews with the same thoughtfulness. Would we care about footbaths for muslims?

Hi Kristee
Good to see you.
Well that is a good question. Not as much perhaps. Though honestly in my personal opinion. even if Islam were truly peaceful, I would still resent the special accommodation’s. Islam would turn our country towards Islam more and more. But… now let’s say all religions were to have equal accommodation’s, then that may shed a different light on things. Hypothetically speaking.
Although we must preserve the separation of church and state. If our Government ever became entangled in the religious side of it’s citizens to that degree that would open up a can of worms. That should be left alone.
Religion mixed up with Government is one of the biggest problems with Islam. Do we want that? Depending on who was in power at the time we could be for a rough ride.

Yea, it would most likely be a “not as much”. Of course, unfortunately this is completely hypothetical and no where near our reality. I have a peaceful, funny, very assimilated Muslim friend (co-worker). If all the Muslims were like him and appreciated living in America for it’s opportunity, freedom etc. it would be o so different. I would not need to blog about muslim footbaths, etc. One solution in the hypothetical world would be if the Muslims funded and maintained them. But, we live in reality (most of us, lol)
My indignation comes from the banning of Nativity scenes, Menorahs, the display of the Ten Commandments while accommodating Islams religious needs at the same time they are DECLARING Jihad against our Nation and their stated motives of turning the US into an Islamic country.

A thought. Would the majority ever move towards that direction? Doubtful. Why when they can use our freedoms against us? I hate to sound so cynical, but considering the way things have been up till now.
Creeping sharia is most defiantly creeping me out too!

Let’s review Islamic terror for today…
You cannot get radical Muslims to turn from radical Islam to the freedoms of Democracy, like practitioners of Communism switched. It just won’t happen. Warning to the West, via an email to Infidel Bloggers Alliance: Fighting terrorism is easier than…

Just curious… are the designated prayer rooms which are being put in the airports, only for Muslims? Can I, a Christian, hold up a crucifix and pray aloud? If not, am I being treated fairly? Don’t I have equal rights as a Christian to pray when and where I see fit?
7 Velvet Hammer // Sep 18, 2007 at 1:31 pm
Only for Muslims?
If I am reading it correctly. I’d say yes.
Hey CavMom wanna take a trip to Chicago?

Boy do I!

Cool! Bring your Bible and cross and any other items you feel you need. I’ll bring the Holy Water and a Blessed candle. Oh and we had better be sure to have the ACLU on speed dial, just in case we are treated with discrimination. :-/

Great rant VH! And a disturbing — no, a critical sitiuation here in the US. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you say.
As you know, I’ve written a lot about this subject, and Im actually in favor of Muslim footbaths in our airports and universities — right after the first synagogue is built in Riyadh.
I love your blog!

Thanks Roger! Back at ya big guy.
The tide may be turning some, as per my latest updates. Just now added the second one. Both courtesy of Doctor Bulldog and Ronin. Great blog too BTW. They had posted two muslim cabbie articles today, so I dug this one out of my archives and updated it with them.
I figured I may as well.

Thanks again.
Yes and I have a teeny weeny keyboard too.
I have a big attitude for such a tiny thing huh? lol
Have a great weekend Roger. Logging off. I’m wiped out. Have been having a lengthy (at times somewhat heated) debate with some atheists elsewhere. My brain is numb.

Wow…what a rant. I think this is the capstone to my mounting rage against the religion. I try not to hate the Muslims themselves, but that gets awful difficult.

Hannah J. — a good point.
I started out making neat separations between Islmamists and “regular Muslims”. However, the more I watched what was going on around us, and the more I’ve learned about Islam (including reading the Qur’an and a lot of Islamist literature), the more I find myself lumping them all together in one hateful bunch.
Now, I’ve reached the point where I can’t stand the “religion” itself. It’s violent, intolerant and Imperialistic. And — I don’t care what the apologists say — actions speak louder than words, and their actions are invariably brutal and bullying — AND deceptive. Especially deceptive. Pretending to the world — and all those gullible libs — that THEY are the persecuted ones.
Enough is enough.
They are violent followers of a bloodthirsty cult who are trying to take over our civilized Western World. And if we don’t start recognizing them for what they are and start REALLY persecuting them, we will lose this wonderful world of ours.

Thanks Hannah. One of my favorites. I so enjoy being snarky.
lol
Thanks so much Butch! I have added your OTB link to this post and my latest one as well.

Improper mixing of church and state is not limited to Muslims — remember, for example, the InnerChange program which in some states establishes a special prison “honor” unit where inmates have keys to their own cells, which is reserved to those willing to convert to militant Christianity. It is an injustice no matter what religion appears to benefit. It is also important to remember that the separation of church and state does more to protect the church than the state — just as the program I mentioned denigrates honest Christian beliefs in favor of showy rhetoric, so these prayer rooms might be expected to have some unfavorable impact on what form of Muslim belief is viewed as most prestigious in these communities.
