That’s where my opposition to the tobacco tax kicks in: when it goes not to fund that which is the basic operations of the government, but the expansion of old or creation of new entitlement programs.

However, I did want to express my disagreement with you over the tobacco tax. Honestly, I don't care if it discourages smoking at all (even though I absolutely HATE being near smokers, haha). I just like the fact that we're taxing the crap out of these annoying people. If they care about money and this inspires them to stop, great!
