I don’t know where to start on this. I am so excited at what is happening in Wyoming politics right now, it is absolutely an incredible time to live in the Cowboy State. Continue Reading »

You Thought the 2008 Presidential Cycle Was Early?

Just about everyone has an opinion about the 2008 Presidential election cycle starting earlier than any other election cycle they can remember. Well, if you thought the 2008 cycle was up and running on an early start, how about talking about the 2010 Wyoming Gubernatorial election?

State Sen. Hank Coe (R, Cody-Sen. Dist. 18) was the guest on KODI’s Speak Your Piece today. When asked by a caller why he didn’t pursue the Senate seat now held by Sen. John Barrasso, he stated that as executor of his mother’s estate, the timing was not right for him. He went on to mention however that he is not leaving out consideration for the office of Governor in in the 2010 election. While not making a huge deal about his future plans, he did note that Gov. Freudenthal will be term-limited from seeking reelection in 2010 and that he has been talking with some people about the possibility of running for Governor. Sen. Coe concluded his remarks by stating

This is not an announcement, but I am giving it serious thought.

Putting My Inbox at Risk

I have just e-mailed the major Democrat Presidential contenders. Every single one of them, including that one from New York that used to be First Lady.

Normally, I wouldn’t bother with contacting the candidates on the Democrat side, but I was curious about their position on an issue that they likely have heard little about and I wanted to know their opinion.

My inbox is now being inundated with the standard automated “thanks for your question and interest; we’ll get an answer to you as soon as possible because we have sooooooooo many e-mails to go through” responses. I’ll let you know later if anything that comes close to addressing my concern comes of it….

OK, so this is a little old, but sometimes we need reminders of what is even the recent past. Honestly, I wasn’t even aware of this until moments ago when I saw the headline on EverythingCody.com

Wyoming Has A (Presidential) Candidate!

hamburg.jpgNot that I’d vote for him. Nor am I that thrilled to see he is trying for office once again, although he does epitomize the “every Democrat is corrupt” line of thought…

Yes, he’s Wyoming’s (favorite?) non-winner that likes to run, even though there are questions about his qualifications. He just might be the biggest non-story of the year (again), but this makes two consecutive posts in which I have said nothing about Yellowstone. Continue Reading »

License Plate Makeover

Did you know that every eight years, our license plates get a new look? I have been in Wyoming through three plate designs.

When we moved up here in ‘92, the design was a simple white-silhouette mountain/blue sky background with red numerals. Continue Reading »
