Kennedy Makes Life Difficult

Could you people in Massachusetts PLEASE vote your drunken Senator out next go-around??? After all, Mitt Romney’s son owns land in Wyoming and pays Wyoming property taxes; thus a Wyomingite can tell you to do this.

I’ve been working on this post for how my Senators voted on the Defense Appropriations bill, because I knew your Senator was being his usual self and throwing a bunch of garbage into the bill.

In Wyoming, life is so much easier. You want to tack on an amendment, it better be related to the bill, otherwise, forget it.

It would be nice if D.C. had the same rule (and if they abided by it), so that say, hate crimes definitions couldn’t be attached to funding our troops. Are Democrats really so cheap that they need to have something so ridiculous to feel good about funding our troops? For crying out loud. Quit hiding behind I support the troops; I seeeerved in Vietnaaam if your not going to say, Hey, I don’t need some non-sense amendment written by Teddy K. to buy my vote of funding the efforts of the troops.

And if you Senate Democrats are soooooo confident that ‘06 was about getting us out of Iraq yesterday, and that ‘08 is about getting us out of Iraq today, why is it that you can’t even feel confident about a timeline:

The 92-3 vote comes as the House planned to approve separate legislation Tuesday that requires President Bush to give Congress a plan for eventual troop withdrawals.

The developments underscored the difficulty facing Democrats in the Iraq debate: They lack the votes to pass legislation ordering troops home and are divided on whether to cut money for combat, despite a mandate by supporters to end the war.

Hoping the political landscape changes in coming months, Democratic leaders say they will renew their fight when Congress considers the money Bush wants in war funding.

While the Senate policy bill authorizes the money to be spent, it does not guarantee it; Bush will have to wait until Congress passes a separate appropriations bill before war funds are transferred to military coffers.

In the mean time, I figured our two Wyoming Senators were part of the 3 opposed, but they voted for it

They had much more company on at least one Kennedy Amendment (though I don’t think this one was the hate crimes amd; however, I could be wrong). In the mean time, it’s my understanding that Sen. Reid (D-NV, Majority “leader”) can look forward to another veto.
