VP’s Daughter Backs Romney

With all the endorsements going on out there, you just knew Gov. Romney had to get one sooner or later. One of the Vice President’s daughters, Elizabeth, has joined the Romney for President campaign. In her endorsement, she noted Mitt Romney’s outlined strategy for winning against the jihadists and his strength in practical economic experience as a businessman.

Elizabeth Cheney was previously a backer of Fred Thompson.

Granted, conditions in 2000 were quite different than they are now, but the thought came across my mind. Continue Reading »

Finance Committeee Snubs CPA

Imagine an organization whose members serve on various committees. These members come from various walks of life all across the fruited plain.  One committee deals with finances. In this organization is one CPA whose job is fairly secure.  There is another lower-ranked member whose job is very much at risk. The leadership sets about assigning committee memberships. In an effort to attempt to give the “at risk” member some importance and perhaps a boost to save his job, the lower-ranked member is assigned to the finance committee. Continue Reading »

How to Win Wyoming…

Coming to the state a few times is a great starting point. Brownie points for visiting before you’ve secured the nomination. Talking about guns helps. Social conservative family values built into your campaign is appealing. A snowmobile trip over Sylvan Pass could build rapport. Continue Reading »

Endorsement Shake-Up

My fellow Wyomingites and Americans, it is with a heavy heart that I write this entry. I have not yet perused other blogs on this issue, though I will soon. For now, I am writing my thoughts and what is on my mind and what I see as the next step in the Republican presidential nomination process. Continue Reading »

Wolves, Grizzlies, Set to Endorse Obama

Coming on the paws of Obama’s recent Vegas Town Hall meeting, the Coalition of Yellowstone Carnivores announced plans to endorse Democrat Presidential Candidate Barack Obama:

Democrat Barack Obama says he won’t just be a president for the American people, but the animals too.

“What about animal rights?” a woman shouted out during the candidate’s town hall meeting outside Las Vegas Wednesday after he discussed issues that relate more to humans, like war, health care and the economy.

Obama responded that he cares about animal rights very much.

Mountaineer Musings on Meida Bias

I stumbled across a blog today, Mountaineer Musings, that commentated about media bias against the “little guys,” perhaps most notably, against Wyoming. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud when I finished reading this paragraph:

Then there is Wyoming, which has more delegates than New Hampshire but was completely ignored because of this farcical notion the old media has instilled in most Americans that the people of Iowa and New Hampshire are the most politically educated and therefore the most important in the whole entire election process (hahahahaha — how many of them were still undecided when they woke up on election day? Voting by feeling, anyone?). I heard in a solitary mention on FNC, during a ten-second break from their reporting on the New Hampshire campaigning, that oh, by the way, Mitt Romney won Wyoming. That’s it. Nothing about the fact that even if he lost New Hampshire, he would still be out ahead of McCain as far as delegate count. And I would be remiss Fox if I didn’t bother to tell you that Fred Thompson also received 25% of the Republican vote in Wyoming and that Duncan Hunter received 8% of the vote. But you know, no big whoop, because Wyoming isn’t an elite coastal state or a corn-subsidy-loving state. So it doesn’t count (those silly conservatives).

You should really check out the rest of what she has to say.

Looking forward: MI and SC

That’s right. They’re nowhere near Wyoming, but they are the next players in the GOP Presidential nomination process. I’m not looking at the Nevada Caucuses because they are non-binding on delegate selection. Continue Reading »

My Thoughts on the Park County GOP Convention

Over the past week, I have been posting content regarding the WYGOP County conventions. Now that I’ve completed reporting the results, I’m going to attempt to delve into the analysis of what happened. Due to the length of the commentary, this will also be a series of posts. Continue Reading »
