Park County, WY GOP Bylaws and Resolutions

Here’s the info on pertinent changes that were made in the Park County GOP Convention.

  • Bylaws:
    • A new section was added to Article 2 (Procedure and Definitions) regarding Participation:

    Any candidate for Federal, State, or Local office who is registered with the Wyoming Secretary of State as an official Republican candidate shall not be denied participation in a forum, debate, or other event held by the Park County Republican Party.

    • Other changes were made correcting typographical error, defining the executive committee membership, and when materials had to be delivered to committee members prior to caucus.
  • Resolutions (national objectives)
    • Jobs and Economy
      • Opposes any national treaty or trade agreement that does not ensure fair free trade. Passed
    • Agriculture and Lands Use Resolutions
      • Proposal to remove “private” from “oppose the taking of private property for the purpose of giving it to another private entity.” Failed Passage
      • We oppose…The expansive designation of of the Wild and Scenic Rivers and the recognition of the American Heritage Rivers Initiative and/or any taking of private property rights. Passed
      • We support the requirement of national country of origin labeling of any meat product. Passed
    • Crime and Law
      • Supports nationwide background checks including finger printing and DNA for all workers employed by daycare centers and those employed to care for the elderly. Failed Passage
        • Second attempt, amended: Supports nationwide background checks including finger printing and DNA for all workers employed by daycare centers and those employed to care for the elderly. Failed Passage
        • Resolution remains: Supports nationwide background checks for all workers employed by daycare centers and those employed to care for the elderly.
      • We support strict enforcement of of immigration law ensuring boarder security. Passed
    • Government
      • Believes that all Federal applications for financial or other assistance must include proof of U.S.A. citizenship. Passed
      • Oppose all treaties, mandates or agreements, or court decisions made by foreign or with foreign governments or international bodies that circumvents our U.S.A.’s sovereignty. Passed
    • Environment
      • Support the development and passage of a national energy policy that promotes independence and comprehensive multi-faceted renewable and traditional energy sources. Passed
