I know, a lot of you are saying, “Scott! Where’s the big formal announcement?!?!?! She’s your candidate; why haven’t you posted the announcement????”
I’m here to tell you, it’s OK; calm down; we’re gonna be alright.
I had a phone call from Annaliese today. She tried to send me some stuff and my e-mail account, for whatever crazy reason, decided to bounce it. I have since reprimanded my e-mail account (all known and possible lummis2008.com addresses are now “safe”). In the mean time, while waiting for the full official text, I figured I’d share some quotes from Tuesday that I do have.
- Clips from Cheyenne in the KGWN report:
- As you can tell I love this place; I love Wyoming, and I know it’s people.
- America needs Wyoming values and Wyoming logic, perhaps now more than ever. America is at war with an elusive enemy, dependent on foreign sources of energy, and burdened with debt.
I got my tape and VCR to work together Wednesday morning! I found out that even if my tape had worked, I would have still missed the news because I didn’t spring my VCR forward a couple weeks back. I corrected the problem, and set my VCR to record Good Morning Wyoming on K2, in hopes that some coverage of the announcement would be there. Sure enough, it was, but not without the obligatory Democrat campaign news to precede it (in this case, it was Gary Trauner’s Casper office opening up again).
- From interviews at the Casper event on the K2 news:
- It never ceases to amaze me. It’s very Wyoming. Everything is very down to earth and very mellow. I think it’s something a lot of people don’t have. (Annaliese Wiederspahn; daughter of Cynthia Lummis)
- Wyoming and it’s state government are great innovators and the state has much to offer Washington in terms of practical ideas that are useful at the national level. (Cynthia Lummis, Republican candidate for U.S. House)
- I developed an extremely high opinion of Cynthia. I saw her abilities first-hand. I saw her ability to learn what was going on, and to be effective rapidly. Everything I’ve seen of her since has reinforced that good opinion of her. (Sen. Charlie Scott, R-Casper)
- …I think she’ll be a very effective advocate for Wyoming. (Al Wiederspahn, husband of Cynthia Lummis)
I must admit, that this marks the second time that I’ve seen a mother and daughter within my circle of friends on the K2 news. Ironically, Cynthia Lummis was at both events that made the newscasts I happened to see.
