Teton County Coloradoan Endorses Trauner

No, there’s not a Teton County, Colorado. The Tetons belong to Wyoming and we let some folks over in Idaho borrow them from time to time. The Tetons are a spectacular feature of the greatest state in the Union, although there spectacle is somewhat diminished when it’s cloudy. Teton County is one of those anomalies in Wyoming. Wyoming is of course one of the most Republican states that exists, with an approximate 2-to-1 Republican-to-Democrat voter registration, but it seems that just about any Democrat that’s a Democrat in Wyoming has roots in Teton County. There are exceptions as there always is and will be, but it seems that Teton County has the corner on the Wyoming Democrat market. Their last three attempts at becoming Wyoming’s vote in the House are a good example. Gary Trauner and Ted Ladd are both Jackson area Dems (Wilson to be specific).

Having said that, insert random thought here: why did Mark Gordon get a “welcome to the race” mention on the Wyoming Democrat Party blog, but none of the other Republicans did? About the most sinister thing they could find say about him is that he’s “another Republican.” Is that another of a different kind, or another of the same kind? I have to admit, if I were in his beat up cowboy hat, I’d be disappointed.

Donate nearly $17 Grand to the cause and all I got was “another Republican enters the race; his name is…”

I think I smell a rotting wolf somewhere.

Moving right along, back to the subject alluded to earlier: the Teton County Coloradoan.

Someone in Colorado has a website called Everything Jackson Hole. Why I don’t know. Colorado is nowhere near JH, but nevertheless, it is what it is. When I first saw the name I figured it was akin to Everything Cody. I was wrong. Anyway, I came across an article on the CST website about the races (pre-Zwonitzer withdrawal) and one commenter mentioned their website and endorsement of Gary Trauner. Has nothing to do with policy. Apparently, the guy can ski (at least he could in the 80’s) and that is important on Capital Hill.
