With less than a month to go until August 19, campaigns are getting their messages out there. Here’s some highlights:
- If you are in such a remote location that you’ve not seen or heard the Cynthia Lummis ad, you can view her ad on You Tube. For some of the story behind the scenes, check out Annaliese’s blog.
- Russ Hart, who is spearheading an effort to start a Wyoming Chapter of the Young Republicans National Federation recently talked with Congressional candidate Mark Gordon. The main purpose was to get to the bottom of the donation issue that has many Republicans raising red flags. Gordon noted that if he could take back any of the questioned donations, he would take back the $1,000 he gave to Gary Trauner in 2006. He also pledged his support for the winner of the August 19 Republican primary, should he end up losing.
- In an unrelated note, Russ Hart sent out an e-mail yesterday that the Wyoming Young Republicans group has attained 35 members. Just 15 more members are needed to reach the 50 benchmark that allows us being chartered into the National Federation.
- Park County Commissioner candidate Terry Hinkle sent brochures out the other day. In them, he proclaims his social and fiscal conservative values. The most asked question he has been getting is regarding a possible cap tax for an events center in Cody. Terry wants all Park County voters to know that he opposes a cap tax for an events center. In his view, the events center is a job for the private sector to take up, not the tax payers. Interestingly enough, this view lines up with the voters that are asking him about it as well as a recent decision by the current board of commissioners.
