Clarification on “Take a Risk”

I would like to stop and make a clarification right here, because it needs to be done. Last month I did express my frustration at certain well-known people not endorsing a candidate in the Congressional race. Of course, my preference was for people to endorse Cynthia Lummis, but that’s beside the point.
In the post I had mentioned Terry Hinkle was at a meeting for my candidate of choice and I gave him credit for his choice to back a candidate. I won’t deny that it helped we were backing the same one. I am still pleased with his choice.
I had also mentioned that a discussion arose at this meeting about people that were and were not supporting Cynthia Lummis. I would like to clarify that Terry Hinkle was not present when this discussion took place (he had another meeting to attend to), nor did he raise the topic. To be honest, I don’t remember who brought it up.
The post I made on this blog, particularly paragraphs 2-5, were my opinions and only my opinions. Do not hold Terry, Cynthia, Annaliese, or anyone else responsible for them.
As I mentioned on Friday, I am very pleased with Rep. Simpson’s choice to endorse Cynthia Lummis. I thanked him for his call on Friday when I saw him at City Park on Saturday, and I expressed my gratitude to his wife as well, and we had what I would deem a good conversation about the issue. It wasn’t so much that he was remaining neutral, but rather the political art of coming out for a candidate.
To his credit, former Senator Al Simpson has remained neutral in the primary, as he said he would. I had the chance to talk with him Saturday night too. He could tell by my T-Shirt and ball cap that I was very much into politics. He noted to me that it was a full-contact sport, and I told him I was quickly learning that, and he told me not to lose my love for it, and I don’t think I will.
