Social Conservatives Question Candidates

Recently, two major social conservative groups questioned candidates for State Legislative positions as well as Federal Congressional and Senatorial seats.

First is the Wyoming Right to Life, which recently formally endorsed Cynthia Lummis in the Wyoming Republican primary for U.S. House. Following is their voting guide which covers various House and Senate districts across the state, with a focus on contested races. The guide provides information on pro-life voting records, what kind of groups have supported or endorsed the candidates, and even the people that the candidates have supported. Further details can be obtained by contacting the Wyoming Right to Life.

This was updated on the morning of Monday August 18 to reflect Becket Hinkley’s (R-HD 41) last-minute response to Wyoming Right to Life’s survey.

Another social conservative group, the Wyoming Family Coalition, covers a larger scope of social conservative family values. Their survey consisted of 13 questions with a simple answer format of support or oppose. You can see the questions and how the candidates answered on the Wyoming Family Coalition website and you can also view their list of endorsed candidates, which includes Cynthia Lummis.
Wyoming Right to Life, Wyoming Family Coalition, and I, Scott Bothwell (not just another blogger), urge you to be active this election cycle. This coming Tuesday, August 19, is the day that you get to decide your candidates within your party (hopefully Republican :-) ).
There are a number of important races all the way down the ballot, so please, do your research, ask your friends that follow the political goings on what they think. Be an informed voter on August 19, and on November 4, you might just be a little bit happier with your choices. I’ve made it no secret that I’m supporting Cynthia Lummis in the Congressional race. I hope you’ll join me, assorted political issue-specific groups, over 30 currently serving state legislators, and a former Governor in helping to deliver a victory for her all across this great state.
