Why Gov. Palin Needs to Visit Cody, WY

The other day news came out that the esteemed Republican Vice Presidential nominee was going to be visiting Wyoming later this month. I was immediately excited, then it kinda sank when I found out it was going to be in Wilson. Keep in mind, my excitement didn’t totally sink. After all, the current VP lives in Wilson and the last two Democrat U.S. House nominees have been from Wilson. Plus there is money to be had in Wilson. All this led me to thinking that there must be some compelling reason, maybe even a list of them, as to Why Gov. Palin needs to visit Cody. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far.
- There is a retired NPS ranger that managed Denali National Park
- We don’t like wolves either.
- Easy access to snowmobiling (even when the East Gate is closed).
- Hunting and fishing are local pastimes
- We understand and support Alaska’s angst against former Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne and the Department of the Interior.
- We’re about the size of Wasilla
- We’re a lot more Republican than Teton County.
- Though not as much, we’ve got money too–from all the folks that USED to live in Teton County.
- We are a very pro-military town.
- An individual in Cody was taught by Gov. Palin’s father.
- I know at least two Republican women that sell make up products, including lipstick.
- We have a hockey team.
Stay tuned for more reasons why Gov. Palin needs to visit Cody.

I love this blurb!! I Googled “cody wyoming republican women,” and came upon this site. I love it!! Fairly new to Wyoming (2 years), I have yet to become involved in local politics, which I thoroughly enjoyed back home in Eastern Oregon. The McCain/PALIN ticket has fired me up to get back to work for our party. Great blog- I will return often!! Thanks!

Dana, thanks so much for stopping in and commenting! I am always thrilled when a Wyoming Republican comments, but when you get one from Cody, now that’s exciting stuff! I’m going to add you to the list of reasons why Gov. Palin needs to visit Cody.
You absolutely need to get involved. There are some good people in the party here locally and they’re always looking for Republicans to step up to the plate. Over the past several months, I’ve made some good contacts and friends and I had a blast participating in various events from the County Convention in January to the Republican Roundup in City Park last month.
Like you, the addition of Gov. Palin to the McCain ticket has reignited my support for the national party. There’s lot’s to do in the next month and half; Lots of good Republican campaigns in contests to help out with: McCain/Palin, Sens. Barrasso and Enzi, Cynthia Lummis for Congress.
Thanks again for stopping in and comment any time!

Mark, neither you nor I KNOW who will win. If you’re a McCain/Palin supporter, buck up man!!! Stop watching the evening news for your source of information on how the candidates are doing. The media is doing their dead-level, darnedest best to make sure Obama is promoted in such a good light that it’s impossible to get a fair look at the race. My gut tells me that there’s something just not right about this whole notion that “Obama’s got the deal sealed” BEFORE most Americans have even voted.
If you are an Obama supporter, I disagree with you. You’re cheering for your team and that’s fine and well, but I’m cheering for my team, and sure hope that they pull it off. They have the ability to.
