God, Society, and National and State History
Sep 28th 2009ScottAmerican History & Wyoming & blogging & conservatism & patriotism & worthwhile reads
It’s been an interesting day perusing the online and offline worlds. While perusing Facebook, I came across Foster Friess’ status update that he had a new blog post. I’ve never met the man in person, but I do enjoy reading his blogs. Perhaps it’s his use of the Scriptures (aka, the Bible, both Old and New Testaments) on his main website combined with his common sense. Anyway, his new blog post linking our financial recession to our moral recession. Interesting concept that’s well worth the reading. Fear not. It’s not long, but it is just long enough to get the gears of your brain turning.
Later on, I watched Glenn Beck (I know, but compared to the current President, anyone who loves freedom and liberty looks extreme). He had a special with moms from all across the country. One of their top concerns was the lack of God. The point: our U.S. Constitution acknowledges God in the founding of our great country, and all 50 State Constitutions (or is it 57?) acknowledge God in their founding. Why have the liberals insisted that God be minimally exposed in our public (government) institutions?Perhaps it’s because they realize that if we are truly one nation UNDER GOD, even the highest ranking officials across the fruited plain must be accountable to Someone with more power than the people.
What say you?
